Cost to go Amtrak to MCO?

I'm desperately trying to find a cheaper full size(or larger) car, but am coming in on Amtrak. Does anyone have a clue about how much it would cost to go from Orlando Amtrak to MCO to pick up a car? I wonder if it would be worth the savings.

Did you consider renting from Hertz? It's only 3 miles from the Amtrak station, they will pick you up when you arrive, not only that they will also take you back to Amtrak when you drop your car off. If you have a Costco or sams club card be sure to mention that when making your reservations, it will save you an additional 10%. Hope this helps, have a great vacation.

I have one reserved thru hertz there, but even w/ the costco and other discount it's over $100 more than if I rent thru Alamo at MCO. I may have to just bite the dust and deal with it at this point as the car is needed from 6/28 - 7/7 and I know FL will be packed!

IMHO Alamo is not worth the savings. We had a three hour wait for a car when we were there. With Orlando filling up with holiday travelers when you arrive, I imagine you will likely have a similar issue. The Alamo place isn't even at the airport. I am not sure where the Amtrack station is, but I would guess you are looking at at least $50 cab fare r/t.
