i just called to see about 3 rooms together - all that was available were 3 waterview rooms but they are not in the "preferred" section-
does that mean they are far away from everything?
we will have a toddler and two pregnant women - we don't want to be too far from the food court/buses
the castmember i spoke with said she couldn't give me any additional information on where those rooms might be-

thanks for any info you might have

The online form only allows you to ask for first floor, I believe. You were right to have it noted on your reservation.

It's strange. I guess a lot of people want ground level rooms for the convenience of not having to use the stairs / elevator? I guess that's nice but it's only a 4 story climb at the most, so I don't see the benefit. I'd rather have a higher floor because you get a better view by being higher up and I also feel that it is ever-so-slightly safer. In the slim chance that somebody does break into a hotel room, I'd imagine they would break into a ground floor room because it'd be easier to get in and out in as little time as possible. I don't think that would happen anyway, but if it did happen I think a higher floor would lower the chances of that occurring ever so slightly.

When are you going? Preferred areas have not yet been announced and no one knows for sure where they will be. It really depends on which buildings they make preferred. Casitas 4 and 5 are only about a five or six minute walk to the main building (and I doubt they will be preferred). Casitas 4 is very close to Bus Stop 2 which is the first stop picked up and dropped off.

We loved it, and thank you!

Oh and remember a while back I asked you if they sell half & half in El Centro? Well, they don't, BUT you can get those little creamers for free from the refrigerator in Rix Cafe (right next to the coffee bar).

Thanks for letting us know, Ali.

Personally, I like the upper floors more, but it really doesn't bother me. There are elevators at the CSR so that shouldn't be a problem.

Does anyone know if they have soy milk at the Peppermarket Cafe? :confused3 It'd be nice to have cereal while I'm there, but I'm lactose intolerant.

I would much rather have a higher floor for a number of reasons.
I agree with your statements about thefts. and....
One year when we went in Oct they had a hurricane come through the day before we arrived and there were A LOT of rooms on bottom floors (of all the resorts, not just CSR) that had flooded because the rain came down so fast and furious!
Third floor is best though.
One year my DD insisted on the 4th floor at CSR. I didn't think anything of it at the time we checked in. We were in Casitas. well.... after the 3rd day of climbing those stairs..... I was tired!!! :lmao:
We survived, but I don't ever want to be on the 4th floor again! :lmao:

I know we have a while before we go, but I am trying to figure out where I would like to request! Kat said close to the dig site since my ds will be 18 months. I also want to be close to a bus stop. I am going to go back a reread and make a decision and stick with it. It is so nice to have so much feedback from everyone!

I would ask for Cabanas 8A...we were literally a hop over to the main pool and less than a two minute walk to the Bus Stop (I know this because we parked our car near the bus stop every night when we returned from the parks).

we have been to WDW many times in Dec and we also live in Florida...as for the weather....it's hard to say....I've heard the average day in Dec is in the upper 70's and we have seen it in the 80's....but we have also seen daytime highs in the 50's...so I always pack for cool weather as the evenings usualy are chilly...but I also pack a suitcase full of summer clothes and swimsuits as we have used the pool in Dec too

Thanks! I am really, really looking forward to coming in December, especially since today here in Utah it is snowing!!

My DBF and I will be at CS Dec 12-17!!! We are trying to decide if we should request a specific location. We will 90% be driving our car to WDW and will be using the car to get to the parks (so bus stop isnt 100% necessary) Would like to be near a hot tub (too cold for a pool). Also being somewhat near the main area for gift shops etc :-)

Any recommendations??

Not sure about the milk but my BF is also lactose intolerant and we ran out of the Lactaid pills...we could not find them anywhere so if you use, make sure you bring enough of your own!

I'll be there the first week of Dec and have requested first floor building 8A or 9B. I'm really hoping for 8A though. I had a great corner room there Oct 2009. It was about two minutes from the main pool/hot tub, two minutes from the bus stop/parking lot, and less than five minutes from the main building.

As far as being too cold for the pool, don't be so sure. We were back at CSR in Dec 2009 (in 9B that trip--also a great location). The weather was great and even though we are cold natured southerners, the pool felt great.

The only hot tub is at the Dig Site. The best place to be close to both the Dig Site and El Centro is in the Cabanas, probably 8A or 9A.

We like the top floor, yet for another reason. Quiet. On our second trip to disney we had a floor above us and about 1 in the morning someone start bouncing a ball (not at CSR). It took 2 calls to the desk to get the noise to stop, since then we have always requested and gotten the top floor, and not had any noise issues. Infact in 2009 at CSR we were in Casitas 3, top floor and had the quiet plus close to either bus stop 1 or 2 and to the food court.Due to health issues we always use the elevators. So climbing the steps to the top floor is not an issue.

We leave Saturday morning. We were booked at POR but ended up changing to CSR. We were a room only until last night when we changed to the "free dining" package. I had already faxed a room request to the room assigners requesting Cabanas 8a or 8b. Near pool first floor. Unfortunately, our original ressie number changed when we switched to a package. Cast member at CRO said she noted change...do you think I should fax again or is it already too late?

Our flight home Thursday is not until 9:30 pm. I know Magical Express will pick us up around 6:30. When we stayed at the Beach Club a few years ago we were able to use the showers in the health club to get cleaned up before heading home. Are there showers in the CSR health club?

Really happy with our choice to change to CSR. Love that there are queen beds, central air and a few choices for adult beverages. DS 10 and DD 8 should love the pool. Any last minute pointers and/or advice greatly appreciated!
TIA for any replies

I wouldn't fax at this point; if you don't get what you requested, nicely ask if they have something in the area you did.

THere are showers in the health club as well as in the very large restroom by th emain pool.

Enjoy...and be sure the kids look for the turtles in the lake and perhaps Ally or her relative (the alligator...but no one has seen her for a couple of months and don't know if a new one has "moved" in).

Staying at CSR for the first time in two weeks.:yay: I had a question about the PM and refillable mugs. If I'm not eating a meal at the PM and just want a mug refill, can I do that myself or does cast member have to do it for me? Even if we do have a meal there I'd still rather fill it myself, is that possible?

No, they fill it for you. However, you can go right next door to Cafe Rix and fill it yourself there.

I just noticed on Buzz's site that there is a Cheerleader conference at CSR Dec 2-4th (actually, they are there to be in the Christmas parade being taped on the 3rd and 4th of December). Has anyone experienced this group. Will we be hearing cheers all night long. I don't mind cheerleaders in particular, but would rather not have to hear D*E*F*E*N*C*E and S*P*I*R*I*T!!! all night long!
