We arrive in 7 days. I need to put in a room request what phone # do I call?
We got 19 inches of snow in one day here I am so ready to see grass!:cool1:

Yeah you will be there the same time we will :) I have always wanted to stay at CSR but when we normally go it is convention time and we can never get rooms ;)

I want to stay over in Caistas 4 or 5 near bus stop 2 so I don't know if I need to get a prefered room now or not. I like the location of 5 since it has a quiet pool and looks to be close to the bridge heading over to the main pool too.

No; Preferred rooms are Casitas 1, 2 and 3. Just remember you can request, but there is no guarantee.

Can anyone tell me if Coke Zero is available at CSR?

I can't answer this one; I don't drink Coke products so we stop and get Pepsi on the way in.

We just got back from a 5 night stay at CSR (our first stay there) and it was awesome! I loved not sharing a bus with any other resorts. We booked a king bed, preferred room and were assigned to Casitas 2. Our only room complaint is that the room was located on the 4th floor and only certain elevators (Plaza elevators) went to the 4th floor and none of these were very close to our room so we just took the stairs the majority of the time. We found the CSR grounds to be beautiful and the staff to be friendly. They were doing some work on the buildings while we were there (small stuff like painting and replacing air filters). Since we were so close to bus stop #2, we rarely ventured to El Centro. Overall, we'd probably stay at CSR again if we choose to stay at a moderate.

Thanks for your review; that is the one complaint I've read on Casitas 2 now a couple of times; and I've never figured out why they did that.

That is where I really want to be also-maybe we'll be neighbors :dance3:

I wanted to add too that we also have had issues booking there, so this year when it came available DH said "take it!" With the queen size beds and deluxe amenities at the moderate price it's a no brainer!

So glad you were finally able to get a ressie.

22 days until we arrive at CSR!!

A page back I had asked if anyone knew what was considered a preferred room. Does anyone know? We were asked when we switched our resort back to CSR from POR if we wanted a preferred king room. We said no. Now hoping that Cabanas are not considered preferred, its our favorite area.

Thanks!

No, the Cabanas are NOT preferred.

The Casitas section is the preferred location at CSR.

Yes and no! Only Casitas 1, 2 and 3 are preferred (4 and 5 are NOT).

Call CRO (Central Reservations) as soon as possible (they assign rooms about five days out) and ask that they note your request.

We beat you...we got 20 inches (and five foot drifts).

I feel for all of you who have so much snow-yuck!

We only get 2-4" at a time, but we've been doing that at least once a week, it's enough to be a mess around here.

Here's hoping for an early Spring for all of us :wizard:

Do all of the rooms in all three sections have the same decor? Or does each section have different decor inside the room?

Longtime reader, first time poster. My family and I will be leaving in 93 days (May) for our first stay on property at CSR. Just had a few questions:

1. Can we get Mickey waffles at CSR?
2. I read in a previous post that the walk from Casitas 4 to the Dig Site is approximately 7-10 minutes. How long would you estimate the walk from Casitas 5 to the Dig Site?
3. Some buildings/sections are closer to bus stops than others. At a leisurely pace, what would be the length of the walk from the rooms/buildings that are farthest from the bus stops? In other words, let's say that I have a room that is the farthest possible distance to a bus stop, what type of walk am I in for? (Just wanting to be prepared)
4. Most of the previous threads that I have read lead me to believe that if I catch a bus at the last two bus stops (the Cabanas and El Centro), I shouldn't have a problem with busses that are too crowded. Am I correct? I will be there in the middle of May.

Great thread, I really enjoy and appreciate it!

Same decor inside, the difference is on the outside.

I'm not sure of the answers to any of your questions since I'm a CSR newbie but wanted to say :welcome:

I think you probably can find a Mickey waffle at Pepper Market, they seem to have most everything else a person could want to eat

:welcome: CSR is a beautiful resort. We stayed in Casitas 4 last year, with a waterview. We were very close to Bus Stop 2, which is actually the first stop that is picked up and dropped off. We had maybe a two minute walk to the bus stop from our room, which faced the lake, so no particularly close to the bus stop. I would guess it was about a seven minute walk to the Dig Site, seven to El Centro. I really didn't mind the walks at all, as the resort really is that beautiful. We travel during President's Week, which is among Disney's busiest, and had no problems with crowding on the busses.

Enjoy your trip!

1. Can we get Mickey waffles at CSR?

In September my kids were able to get Mickey waffles through the kids meals. Regular - not chocolate to my son's disappointment. ;) (He came across chocolate ones at one of the TS breakfasts).

But the adult portion waffles are regular waffles - no Mickey...

1) Kids Mickey waffles only

2) Our favorite buildings are Casitas 4 and 5; it takes me (a 50+ adult) about five minutes to walk to the main building and about seven minutes to the main pool from there

3) We usually park near a bus stop (we rent a car) and it has taken us from all buildings, near and far from the bus stop, no more than two or thre eminutes

4) As I said, we always rent a car so we don't use the buses. The one time we did (two years ago), it was about 5 or 5:30 p.m. and we got a bus at the last stop (Bus Stop 1--El Centro) to go to the Magic Kingdom. We waited less than five minutes and we got a seat. However, this just comes down to how crowded it is, time of day, etc. If you find yourself waiting a long time for a bus, have one of the other bus drivers (if no bus has come for your destination) call it in.

Glad you are enjoying the thread.

Yes. If you're eating in, you just hand your mug to your server and he/she fills it. If it's take out, you can go over to the Cafe Rix and use the machines or get coffee at the stand on the way out of Pepper Market.

I am working my way through all the posts. Made it to page 17!

Another mug question, sorry. Making sure I understand how it works here. At pepper market the cm gets the refill for you. At Cafe Rix you fill it up yourself. But the coffee is at what stand? Also at the theme pool, years ago when they first started selling the mugs, a bartender would do the refills. Is it still done the same way or do they now have self-service refills?

If I taxi from MCO, is there somewhere nearby _ like a convenience store - that I could run in just to pick up a 12 pack of Coke Zero?

I know this has been asked several times, but are you positive about the preferred rooms? I booked a preferred room but do not want to be in Casitas 1, 2 or 3. I want to be in the Cabanas. I have three little ones and need to be near the dig site. I don't mind paying extra for a good location, but I don't want to pay extra and be stuck in a location that I don't want.

Should I call and change from a preferred to a regular room? We are travelling in early May.

I also don't want a room that opens up to a parking lot. How do I prevent that?

At the Pepper Market, they will refill it for you if you arel dining in, or you can get it refilled at the "take out window" where they have the coffee and pastries; the Cafe Rix you do by yourself. At the pool bar, they do it for you at Siesta's or the bartender does it.

There is a Hess Gas Station not far away. I have no idea how much a taxi costs (we rent a car every trip).

The last "official" word I got from the manager's office is that the preferred rooms are located in Casitas 1, 2 and 3 only.

I would call and changen to a standard room if you can. I would also put in a request for Cabanas 8A as it is very close to the Dig Site pool. Please note that there is no guarantee you will be able to "not get a parking lot" view. I can tell you that most of the parking lot views are obstructed by lush greenery.

I would request Cabanas 8A or 8B or even 9A. All are relatively close to the main pool which I am sure will be important for you. The best bet is to keep an eye on the thread http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=93 as discounts are talked about here.

Oops..... missed the post a few up.... got my answer....
thanks Katmark. :thumbsup2

You are welcome. :)

What is your take on a water view room? If I request a waterview room will I be more likely to get Cabanas since more of their rooms seem to be water view? It costs the same as preffered so since I am dropping preferred it won't cost me any more. I like the idea of water view (even through the curtains are closed most of the time) since we will be there for 10 days it would be nice, but what is more important to me is to be in a good building.
