Sorry if this has already been asked, but when can you request a room type? Is it 180 days, or closer to the vacation?

Anytime. Just call and tell them to mark your request on your reservation.

I am headed to Coronado Sunday morning for a convention and glad to be getting out of the Boston weather. Although the convention will have hundreds of guests, basically I am solo on this trip. What's it like for a single traveller? Can I get a table for one, or am I eating at the bar all week? Normally at a big downtown hotel in Anycity USA no one notices a single middle aged man alone at a bar or restaurant. Disney seems like it may stand out a bit more....any ideas? Not that I am shy or lonely, I am sure I'll make a few friendly aquaintences, if not friends, but still I wonder about the atmosphere. Maybe less of an issue at Coronado because it's a convention hotel?

No worries. There are lots of solo travelers at WDW - conventioneers and vacationers alike! :thumbsup2

You can get a table for 1 pretty much as easily as a table for 2 (anywhere on WDW property)! You'll be fine. ;)

Thanks - it's been a long time since I've been to Disney, and never without the wife and child...should be interesting.

Just got back from a 4D/3N stay, and it was wonderful!!! :cloud9:

We arrived at 7:30 a.m. Friday morning (3/14/14) and our room was ready! I had requested an upper level room in Cabanas, and we were in room 8227 in the Cabanas 8A. It was perfect! Bus Stop #4 was right across the parking lot from our building - buses were never full. It was a short walk to El Centro, and we were right next to the Dig Site pool. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I'm very glad we chose to stay here!!! :goodvibes

Glad you enjoyed your stay! :goodvibes 8A is our favorite spot!

Don't let the name fool you it has nothing to do with Business, the lounge is not offerd to the convention people anymore. Strictly for guests paying for the Business Class section. There were lots of kids in there during our last trip. You can also grab what you want and take it to your room if you like.

is it a lot to get the business class rooms?

I guess it depends what you consider a lot.

I tried random dates this month and not much is available to get prices.
These are the rates for next month in peak times.
regular room 251.00
preferred room 276.00
business class 301.00 (location, breakfast, evening snacks and alcoholic beverages)

We'll be at CSR in Aug and are considering requesting a ground floor. For whatever reason we've always been given second floor rooms which is fine, but for those who have stayed ground floor, can you hear noise from the room above?

Rachel

We stayed in a ground floor room this past Dec. and we had no noise issues from above us or around us. We were in the Casitas building 5.

Hi all! Very excited - we are booked for Feb. 1 - Feb. 10 2015. I can't wait - I like everything that I have seen about this resort!

Right now we are booked for preferred.....what is the difference between regular and preferred? Can anyone tell? Is it just views? Because if that is the case I think I would rather save the $500 for non-preferred....

Also - I am looking at Cabana 8A.....is this the right one to request to be nearest the Dig Site pool?

I asked this a while back and I think it got lost in the shuffle of other posts...

Does anyone know what kind of eggs they use to cook with at Pepper Market (or WDW in general)? DH doesn't handle "fake eggs" aka Egg Beaters very well but he's perfectly fine when he eats real eggs. I'd just like to know so I can tell him what he should avoid. I really don't want him in the bathroom for half a day while the rest of us are out having fun.

Disney restaurants are notorious for being very helpful to those with food "issues" and allergies, etc. I would think that when you first arrive, tell your server about your concerns, and have them ask the cook staff. The chef would most likely come and and give you the low-down on exactly what they're cooking. (I've done this many times as I am allergic to tree-nuts.)

Then your DH could choose what to order once he knows.

Hi everyone! I'm currently booked for August at CSR. I'm taking my mom for her first visit ever and she has a knee that can act up. I thought I saw on one of the sites that the Cabanas bus stop is pretty close to the buildings. Is this true? Does anyone know of a video of the walk from the bus stop to the hotel room (for any of the buildings)? I'd like to have an idea because obviously I've never been to Coronado before.

Thanks!

I don't know of a video, but this link should give you an idea of how close they are.
