Coronado Springs Resort - New Unofficial FAQ Thread - November 2012

Hi! This is our first time staying here and I am so excited. The resort looks awesome, I have heard first hand from many people saying how beautiful it is!

We will be there in less than three weeks , and a couple of questions popped up in mind. One is the hours for Panchitos? Can't seem to dig it up, my son drinks milk like it is going out of style, but not sure if we will have a chance to swing out and get some. Is Panchitos open really early or late? Figure we can grab some there to keep in the frig.

And what are the advantages to online check-in? We hope to arrive around 1 - 1:30. If we find out they placed us somewhere we are not crazy about, not sure if online would keep us from trying to adjust our room location (not sure if that is possible during SB)? Last time we used online check in, it took forever for us to check in at the main desk anyway, so it seems it might be better to just wait until we get there? We are driving, so if it looks like we might be late and need to go straight to the park (FP+ reservations), we can just do our check in on our phones.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Stayed at CSR last week - LOVED IT!
Can't speak to the opening hours but Panchitos was open til either 11pm or midnight.

I checked in online and then asked for a busing preference when we got there. They accommodated us and the checkin process took about 10 minutes.

I think I might call them, just to be sure our requests are in there - the phone on the front page - is that for the resort or is that the general number? I have been looking around and every place has a different number!

The number on the front page, along with any number you find on the internet for any WDW resort, will get you to a call center most likely not even in Orlando. The CM knows that you are trying to call CSR and will answer the phone like they are actually at CSR. But they will be able to tell you if your requests are there. What I do is give the CM my confirmation number and ask them to read off any requests that are there.

I'm a little nervous, we'll be at CSR 5-15 and I've been trying to get a premium room since we made the reservations. I called again today and the CM said the hotel was booked solid! I looked for possible conventions, nothing too crazy is coming up. I'll be traveling with my 2 & 4 year old while being 5 months pregnant so I was trying to get us as close to El Centro as possible to make my life a little easier. Is this usual for early May? I thought we were going during a slower time. I'm sure it will work out, I've been wanting to stay at CSR forever and my oldest loves the 3 Caballeros. I'm still excited just a little worried we may get swamped!

I was also there during spring break - one of the busiest times. CSR still felt very un-crowded. I've heard some say they had trouble getting loungers at the pool, but we never had trouble and especially at the quiet pool at the Cabanas, there was a maximum of 4 people there at once.

Hopefully you'll not notice the capacity. It's a very quiet and gorgeous resort.

We have a preferred king room booked for May. I did my online checkin and my two location choices were ranchos or cabanas, I'm assuming we will be in casitas since I believe that the preferred rooms are in that location. (I chose cabanas since I had to make a choice) Does anyone know?! Thanks!

Pretty sure you are right all all preferred are in casitas... Did you have to pick an option? I did mine and picked two, but it seemed like it was up to two choices but not that you had to pick anything?

We arrive Easter morning and I have to admit I am a bit nervous as I never stayed here usually stay at AoA. We are have a 7 year old who loves to swim so I am wondering where should we request to stay. We will be renting a car and would love to be near parking, pool and main bldg.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had a standard room (passholder rate) in my cart for Memorial Day weekend since prior to our trip two weeks ago. I started reading all of these threads about the Orbitz deals and I had to start comparing prices for myself. I accidentally replaced my lovely room in my cart during this process and there is now no standard room availability :( silly me!!! The rate was better than our last visit and I was pretty excited about it, water view definitely hikes it up a bit.

Anybody have luck checking the site daily and seeing the availability come up? I'm sure people cancel! I've been known to stalk for ADR's with great success lol not sure if this is quite the same ;) here's to hoping!

Yes, I've stalked for a different room types, and seem to find more variety around the 45 day mark. Just keep trying! :goodvibes

Well I picked cabanas since I knew I didn't want ranchos and them realized that I would be in casitas. I went back in to the online check in and now it won't let me unclick my choice. I guess I'll see what I get!

Thanks!

If you booked a "preferred room" you wouldn't get Cabanas (even though you requested it! ;))

I'm staying at Coronado for a week in September. The only place I've ever stayed at is Pop Century so I'm excited to see something new. Looks like a great place to take an evening or early morning walk.

First, don't be nervous. It's a beautiful resort!! Your 7 y\o will love the pool, and I believe the water slide is the longest of all the resort pools! It's really fun!! The main pool (The Dig Site) is a great pool.

There is parking all the way around the resort near each building so no worries there.

The Cabanas are close to The Dig Site, El Centro, and bus stop 4. There is even a very nice quiet pool and the building next to the pool houses the laundry. Very convenient. We were in 9A and it was wonderful.

Casitas are beautiful too but can be a hike from the pool. Of course they have their own quiet pool there also.

I'm excited for you!! Enjoy.

I'm checking in on Sunday, my first time at CSR! :cool1: I am beyond excited!

I have a couple of last-minute questions.

I did online check-in. When I enter the lobby, do I go to a different area than the registration desk?

Are there usually taxis at CSR? I'm going to Sanaa for lunch after I drop my bags off at CSR. Rather than spend precious time taking the bus to AK and another another bus to AKL, I'd rather pay for a taxi to AKL, then take the bus after lunch from AKL to AK.

Thank you! 4 more days!!! :)

Just go to the registration desk and look for the On-Line check in line, they'll be a sign. And there are always cabs waiting to take you wherever you want to go. Have a great time!!! :)

Thanks so much!

2 more work days, then 1 day to pack, then I'll be there! :dance3:

You will most likely be greeted by a CM when you enter the registration area. They will direct you. The lines are on the right side. Last April I had no wait time. I'm hoping to get lucky again in a few weeks.

Just a random update because I'm excited about it- we have paid off our room reservation already! Woohoo!

...But we also just added the Dining Plan, so our balance just went up like crazy, haha. Ah well. It's definitely worth it, I think.

247 days! :yay:
