Coronado Springs Resort - New Unofficial FAQ Thread - November 2011

Hello!! We are checking in to Coronado Springs in 10 days for our first stay! I'm so excited :cool1:

I just did the online check in. The field where you can add a room request was not working. I'm concerned because I wanted to request Casitas #1 or #3. I want to be in a building close to El Centro but because of Arthritis in my knees I need to stay in a building with an elevator.

Can I still fax my request to the room assigner? If so, what number would I fax it to? When should I send the fax?

Thanks!!!

DH and I are also checking in in 10 days (well, 9 now). We will be there from 5/12 - 5/19. We were just talking about doing online check-in. Since it's my first time to both CSR and WDW, I'm not sure what I wanna do.

When I did online check in a few days ago it wouldn't let me pick a certain building, just a section like Casitas, Ranchos, or Cabanas. If that's not working now, I'd just call and make sure the room request was listed on the reservation in the computer. I know mine is ('first floor Cabanas with a preference for Cabanas 8A'). I don't believe any of the resorts are accepting faxes anymore. CSR was the last one to stop accepting them.

I've got to work one more night, then at 0715 Friday morning I officially start my vacation and will be arriving at CSR on Saturday.:hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:

Thanks! Are Cabanas a better location than Casitas? I'm trying to be as close as possible to the bus stop and El Centro.

There are 4 bus stops, one at each village and El Centro. If you have a preferred room you'll be placed in Casistas 1, 2 or 3. If you don't have a preferred location then Cabanas 9b or Casitas 4 would be the closest buildings to El Centro. The El Centro bus stop is more located on the Cabana side of El Centro than the Casitas side.

We are arriving Sat evening and have also requested Cabanas 8a. Keeping my fingers crossed! Poor DH and I are currently recovering from "pneumonia-like symptoms" which is what the dr calls it cuz he says we had pneumonia but the x-rays don't. Been coughing up our lungs for 2 weeks!! Don't care, better to be sick at WDW than at home!!!!

Hopefully we'll both get Cabanas 8A. Hope you get to feeling better before Saturday. One trip I was trying catching a cold when I left home. When I got to Orlando it was pouring down rain, but I kept my California Grill ADR for that night anyway and got chilled and soaked. I woke up during the night with a really bad upper respiratory infection and was sick in bed for four straight days and still felt bad the rest of the week. My doctor knows me real well, so is really good now about giving me a script for a broad spectrum antibiotic before I leave (usually Levaquin or Cipro). It seems like I have a tendency to get sick either during my trips or right after I get home.:rotfl:

So excited!:hyper::hyper:

Me too, me too, me too!:hyper::hyper::hyper:

Arrived & checked in yesterday.

Requested Cabanas but when we arrived we got assigned Ranchos 6B, not really too worried. We had 3 rooms & they put them all together which is mre important to us. Haven't explored as we arrived, went straight to dinner at DTD then came home & crashed.

Going for breakfast this morning at the PM.

Wireless internet working fine, although it is still 6.30am. :)

So then the person who told me was right, You can never be more than a 5 to 10 min walk from the bus stop. That will be a relief. Now maybe i should start packing. Havent even looked at my luggage lol. "We're going to mickeys house, do da do da, We're going to mickey house all the do da days"

OK. Thanks. I do have a preferred room so I think I am going to call and ask for Casita 1 or 3 because from what I've read Casita 2 does not have an elevator.

Glad the internet is working fine. We had no problems with the wireless internet there, and we stayed the weekend it first started back in October.

Glad you were able to get the 3 rooms together.

We were in the Ranchos our last stay, 7A. It wasn't bad. At night, I thought the lighting was very pretty, during the day the scenery was a bit drab though.

Will you please give an update of the sidewalk construction?

That's so funny because my Dr always sends me with a script too. I get colds down there every time!! But we've been on antibiotics for almost 3 weeks now. Can't imagine there are any germs left!!!

Or request 1st floor. We were Casita, building 3, first floor last trip and we LOVED the location.

There is an elevator in between casita 1 and casita 2, but it only goes up to the third floor. There is another elevator near casita 3 that goes all the way to the fourth floor. It can be tricky to get to the fourth floor of casita 2 without using the stairs (you would have to use the casita 3 elevator), but it is no trouble to get to the other floors of casita 2.

Is casita #2 the only building without an elevator? I just booked a June stay (our first csr stay) in a standard room. I made no requests but with 2 toddlers and a double stroller hiking up stairs is out of the question. We don't have to have a first floor room but an elevator is a must. Thanks.

Yes, they all have elevators. Fourth floor of casita 2 (which is a preferred building) is the only place that is tough to get to.

I'm pretty sure a few pages back someone posted who is currently at CSR said that there is no indication of sidewalk construction. :)

Just back. We were in casitas 3 waterview which we didn't book 2ndfloor which would have been okay except my elderly mom needed elevator and we weren't close. Too bad our stairwell was much closer to bus stop than the elevator. I am glad we got Castias because bus stop 2 was always the first to be picked up and by the time it got to #4 and El Centro it was a little full in the morning. Except on one bus ride, #2 was always the first pick up and drop off and El Centro last like I said only once on the way home did the bus drop off at el centro first

We got 'aqua' scented bath stuff first 3 days, grapefruit burgemont the last 3 days.
Sorry for weird typing on my phone at airport

Welcome back! :goodvibes That's weird about the toiletries - were both scents the H2O+ brand? I wonder if they are switching to new toiletries.

Hi guys

Two questions please if anyone would be nice enough to answer them!

Firstly, how busy is the main pool likely to be? Any times of day to avoid?

Second - is Ranchos REALLY so bad? I actually think the theming looks lovely, but I don't want to be stuck there if its awful.

Thanks

Question for anyone who uses the fitness center: what times is it open, and also is there a link to the jogging map somewhere? Or perhaps a notation of the jogging area on Google Earth?

Working towards running the 10 mile TOT in September and hoping not to give up my training.
