I believe with the bus that after 20 min. their bus for the destination they wanted and 5 different buses they gave up and drove. At times we might just take a bus to a different destination and change plans for the day or if the Epcot or MK bus showed and you wanted the other you could take that bus and then monorail to the other. We always keep our options open but usually we are not in that big a hurry. That bus they wanted could have shown up as soon as they left the stop. This is just one reason we get Park Hoppers.

we are on ly going to Magic Kingdom for one day only and have a breakfast ressie for 7:30 at Chef Mickeys. Im thinking spend the 20 bucks on a taxi.

Hmmm...that could be it. :confused3 I just don't want to be in the Ranchos again. I want to try one of the other areas.

Is the sidewalk construction major, or are they just doing small sections at a time?

One person here reported being in one of the building 7 Ranchos and having to walk all the way around all the Ranchos to get to the pool because the walkway past building 8 was closed.

We're here now and are enjoying our stay - first time at CSR. Checked in Friday night and got Cabanas and upper floor as requested. No upgrade as happened to the previous poster but alas, we have a teenage boy in our party and he'd probably clean the club level out of food.

Tried bus service this morning and gave up after 20 min when the fifth bus arrived that we didn't need. We do have a car and the resort is really close to the parks (except Magic Kingdom) so driving time is short.

The room is spacious, very clean, and the resort is just beautiful. We're very happy with our choice.

Could you please give a walkway construction report?

We prefer to use our car, the resort is so close to AK, Epcot, and DHS.

We check in on Wednesday 5/2 :woohoo: do the rooms at CSR have hair dryers?

The hair dryers are located in a bag hanging on a hanger in the closet area, not plugged into the wall at the sink like at other resorts.

20 mins is the normal accepted wait time for a bus. We usually don't have to wait that long, but that is considered normal. The bus probably came right after you left. They will have more buses assigned to the parks that are expected to be busier that day, its not uncommon to have a couple buses for the same place come while you are waiting.

serene56 - taxi would be your best bet for that early cause it will give you peace of mind. You can make ressi for the cab the night before or in the morning at the front desk or direct yourself.

I usually bring my hairdryer because I find the ones on the wall just don't have enough "power" for styling. I am wondering if I won't have to pack mine if this is a regular dryer..anyone have any experience with this? I know it sounds petty, but bad hair all week...boo! Just trying to keep my luggage under 50 lbs!! 27 days until I'm there!!!!

I found the hair dryer to be just fine. It was "normal" -- it wasn't one of those little things.
.

I have thick hair and found the hairdryer to be very good...not like the ones that hang on the wall and have very little drying power...

All last year, the hair dryers were Conair 1875 with longer handles and longer "snout" than the other resort blow dryers.

Thanks for the hairdryer report everyone! That should shave at least a pound off the luggage!! Gotta love the Dis:love:

We're at CSR at the same time. Do you think it's because of 2 different sections? I remember reading before about people who had reserved a standard room having trouble clicking the Casitas.

Sure wish I knew where the side walk construction was currently.

Here now, no sign of sidewalk construction. I've run twice around the entire resort and didn't see any construction anywhere.

Had a great stay at Coronado Springs recently. Wasn't on my radar before, but I'll definitely be considering it more on future visits. Here's a full review of the experience...:thumbsup2

we arrive at CSR sept 30th...requested cabanas
i knew that there are a couple of conferences during our stay but they all seemed fairly low key
i checked out their websites and it really looked like they would not impact us (based on their schedules vs. our scheduled plans)
today when i checked for new stuff i discovered that sunday sept 30th there is a "welcome" party for one of the conferences on the cabanas beach from 6:30 to 8:30
so i am a little disappointed...i just hope that it really ends at 8:30 as i need to get my girls into bed at a decent time (we have to be up at 6:30 for our CRT reservation)

Perhaps you can request a room not facing the beach area? Since it is a request (not guaranteed), you may end up in a different section. But if you do get the beach area of Cabanas, I hope the sound doesn't travel to your room.

Where is the website that lists conventions and dates? I'd like to see if there is a convention for our dates. We had a convention last time, but it was only for one night of our stay.

Unless you booked a waterview, you probably won't face the beach, even if you do get placed in cabanas. It might be that the convention has booked cabana 9B anyway if they are planning activities on the beach. You can request cabana 8A at check-in (or Ranchos 7B) - they are still close to the bus stop and pool but are farther from the cabanas beach.

There are some conventions listed on the first page of the thread, but I am woefully behind in scouring the internet for CSR conventions. :) If you Google CSR Convention List, there is a site that is more up-to-date than my list, but I can't post the link here.

we did book a waterview ( i have no desire to spend that much $$$ and face a parking lot)
that beach is a big part of how i was able to talk DH out of CBR in favour of Coronado!!!!
not a huge deal...after all it's only 2 hours out of our whole stay...just a little let down as it's our first night and all

i found the convention date listings on buzz's CSR page ... then i googled them
