Disney Food Pictures...Part VI!

Is this from Sanaa? We have been a couple times and are going again next week. It looks very sharable!
...yes, and very sharable! The food is kinds 'exotic' and not for every palate, but definitely a must-do if you are on the adventurous side!

Everglazed - after getting caught in the stampede of an unexpectedly cancelled drone show in Disney springs, we stopped for a treat for breakfast

Glazed, Chocolate Frosted, Cinnamon Roll, Brooklyn Blackout - the simpler ones were delicious. The hot mess chocolate one was just way too much, we threw that mostly out.

STK Brunch

This was honestly by far the best meal of the trip. Pricey, but worth it in our opinion.

Little BRGS - mini wagyu sliders
IMG_5025.jpeg

Pork belly eggs benedict
IMG_5026.jpeg

Filet with a side of asparagus (most asparagus was on a separate plate)
IMG_5028.jpeg

NY Strip
IMG_5029.jpeg

Side of mashed potatoes (these were delicious)
IMG_5031.jpeg

Sauce plate (we couldn’t decide so we ordered the sauce sampler plate - all were very good, but honestly the steak didn’t need anything)
IMG_5030.jpeg

Free dessert they brought out because it was my husbands birthday. This was HUGE and so good

Blueberry lemon drop martini

Scat Cat's Club at Port Orleans French Quarter (live music Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 pm)

Hurricane: Bayou Silver Rum, Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum, Orange, Pineapple, and Lime Juices with Grenadine and a float of Myers’s Dark Rum

Very strong! Very good. Not too sweet.

Gumbo Poutine: Steak Fries loaded with Gumbo, Cheese Curds, and Cheese Sauce

Hadn't had gumbo before and was nervous but this was delicious! Not a heavy serving of gumbo so it's treated more like a gravy - just enough to add flavor but not make the fries soggy. Great cheese sauce and curds. Ate 95% of it on my own!
tempImage3qlEXt.png

Whiskey Breeze: Old Forester Bourbon, Cointreau Liqueur, and Lemon Juice with flavors of Guava and Mango

Very sweet (which I like) and easy to drink.

Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory

Mickey Waffles with Bacon and a side of Potato Barrels. A classic and always delicious - how can you go wrong? Only complaint is I like my bacon crispier. Also got a chocolate milk to drink.

tempImagejRzZYr.png

YeSake Kiosk

Built my own poke bowl: sushi rice, tuna, avocado, onion, cucumber, tempura crunch, carrot, sweet teriyaki sauce, and a side of spicy mayo. I also got Violet Sake to drink which was very sweet and easy to drink. The taste of alcohol was nonexistent, so they either didn't serve me alcohol or it's a negligible amount.

Scat Cat's Club - Cafe
Baton Rouge Beignet: Two-Beignets jazzed up with your choice of Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur, Kahlúa Liqueur, or RumChata Liqueur (Contains Alcohol)

I went with the Kahlúa. This is better shared. It was a lot for one person and I didn't need two shots of Kahlúa. Ended up using the alcohol almost as a dip to just get a little taste of it.

Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory

Mickey Shaped Cinnamon Roll. A little dry - not the best cinnamon roll on property but it did the job. I got it with a side of potato barrels to give a little savory with the sweet and a chocolate milk to drink.

tempImagecRzp46.png

Beaches & Cream Soda Shop
Beaches & Cream Grilled Cheese with Creamy Tomato Soup

Also got a lemonade to drink which was fine. There's a reason people rave over this. The grilled cheese was perfectly cheesy and grilled to perfection. The tomato soup was pretty light and easy to eat (especially with grilled cheese dipped in it) even on a hot & humid Florida August evening.

No Way Jose: A Peanut Butter and Hot Fudge delight featuring Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream, Peanut Butter and Chocolate Morsels, Whipped Cream, and a Cherry

My favorite sundae hands down. I ate most of this even after my grilled cheese and tomato soup. I just wish there were a little bit more pb and fudge. A lot of the ice cream in the middle misses out on toppings.

Scat Cat's Club - Cafe
Three Mickey shaped beignets served with your choice of 1 dipping sauce. I chose salted caramel.

I somehow managed to eat almost all three of these, just leaving a little bit behind. The dipping sauce was a night touch but these are sweet enough without it. The salted caramel does cut the sweetness a tiny bit, but even that's more sweet than savory. So delicious, light, and fluffy!
tempImagexyLOpF.png

Specialty beignet: cinnamon and sugar

I did not eat this one; I brought it home for family and by the time they ate it, it was still delicious but a little bit smushed. I got this for breakfast a few trips ago and remember it being so good.

Gideon's Bakehouse

Coffee cake cookie: Our crazy-popular Coffee Cake Cookie is an extra Buttery Vanilla Bean Cookie filled with Cinnamon Swirl and topped with our Homemade Double Baked Butter Crumbs Soft. Crunchy. Delicious. It's like a Snickerdoodle in its final evolution. Built to be paired with our Nitro Cold Brews! Available every morning until sell out!

This is a morning exclusive, only sold until it runs out. This was my first time getting it and it did not disappoint. I traveled home with it and put it in the fridge and ate it over multiple days. It's good right out of the fridge but a little better/softer/chewier if it's out of the fridge for a little bit and closer to room temp.

Awesome pictures and really appreciate the detailed description including the locations! I gotta get some of that poutine! Also Kahlua is basically one step away from chocolate syrup so no harm in indulging a bit!

A little disappointed with the steak from Mama Melrose on Sunday night. The portion seems much smaller. My medium was also medium rare, but I didn’t send it back because I was taking most of the steak to someone else (who prefers their steak as close to mooing as possible). Mac portion also seemed smaller but was still to die for.

We purchase a few of the Flower & Garden Festival items. I don't remember the name of this one but it was a non-alcoholic drink and quite good.

Fleur de Lys

  • Croissant au Fromage de Chèvre, Herbes et Ail Rôtie: Croissant with Goat Cheese, Herbs, and Roasted Garlic
  • Parmentier de Canard A L’Orange: Pulled Duck Confit with Orange Sauce and Garlic-Rosemary Mashed Potatoes
  • Beignet Caramélisé, Fourré Crème Vanille, Glacé au Caramel Fleur de Sel: Caramelized Beignet filled with Vanilla Cream and glazed with Caramel Fleur de Sel

Duck confit:

The beignet and croissant were both delicious but the duck confit had some seasoning/flavor that didn't appeal to my husband at all.

Dinner at Coral Reef. We have had dinner at this restaurant for years and always look forward to their shrimp and grits (we live in Louisiana so we know our shrimp and grits). They weren't on the menu anymore! Normally, I would have known this because I would have perused the menu ahead of time but we booked this trip one evening and left for Disney the next.

Bread service:

Surf and Turf*

Filet Mignon, Grilled Shrimp, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Key Lime Chimichurri. While we were disappointed that the shrimp and grits for gone from the menu, this was a good replacement.

IMG_4430.JPEG

We were going to skip dessert but our waiter brought us out a small size dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary early.

So sad how they have removed shrimp and grits from so many menus!
