Free Dining made it possible for us to upgrade from the All Star to CSR!!! :wizard: It will be our first time at CSR!!!:banana::banana:

Now to settle in and read this thread.....:surfweb:

Congratulations, Amy, and welcome. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions...we have lots of wonderful people here who are more than willing to help.

And just to let everyone know (even though it is now posted in my pre-trip report linked below), we were able to get FREE DINING THIS MORNING! :)

Yes, there is still a night table. For us, it was about the size of the one we have at home. Held a lot for us.

There is a desk with about 4 outlets plus 2 more outlets in the bathroom (maybe more but I remember 2). There might be more than that but those were the ones we used the most. We recharged our camera batteries every night and my cell phone at least once at the desk plus had a nightlight in the bathroom and didn't have a problem with outlets.

There is a door going from the vanity area of the bathroom to the room with the toilet/shower. You can hang something over that door.

Thanks Swimalie!

Just back last night from 11 nights in Cabanas 9B. Coronado Springs is our new favorite resort!! It was absolutely beautiful, peaceful, relaxing and fun! The dig site area was perfect for our DS-8, and DD-4.
After previously staying at POFQ, POR, and Wilderness Lodge, we can't imagine we'll want to try out any other resort for a long, long time.
I miss it already!!

Welcome back. So happy to know that you fell in love with the CSR. You've made my day (well, that and the fact that we got free dining for our stay in September).

I hope you'll post some pictures later if you have time.

I'm jealous. I just looked up prices and we could go for a lot less than our last price thanks to free dining. Enjoy your trip!

It is official--we are staying CSR for the first time this September. We are so excited. Our TA recommended the Cabanas area so we put in a request for it. :goodvibes

I am really excited about staying here. We switched from POR to here as I was getting infected by resort-itis! We stayed at POFQ last time so I really wanted to try somewhere different. I love the renovated rooms and the Dig Site!!

Any tips? Are we looking at a good section? How far of a walk should I be anticipating? Lots of newbie questions for you! :rotfl:

Thanks for humoring me and answering question!

WELCOME!!!! And so glad you picked CSR to try. We stayed in the Cabanas last trip and it was a very nice area (although I must admit we still prefer the Casitas; we personally asked for the Ranchos this time because it is the only section we've not stayed in). You will love the Dig Site pool and the Jaguar Slide...DH and I still go down it (even though both of us are over 50). The new beds are heavenly.

Welcome! :welcome: We have stayed in the Casitas and Cabanas and like both. We were in Cabana 9A, which was close to the Dig Site and also close to El Centro (the main building). Great location, and my kids enjoyed swinging in the hammocks in the cabanas area. There is also one hammock in the Casitas, but since you are going in September, you will probably find it occupied by Kathy (KatMark)! :rotfl:

The casitas have beautiful fountains and are located near the first bus stop. It is still close to the main building but a bit further to the Dig Site.

We have not put in a request for our next trip, but I am kind of hoping for Ranchos since we haven't stayed there before. We will have a car in case we are too lazy to walk 10 minutes to El Centro at the end of July! ;) The Ranchos are the farthest away from the main building and are the quietest (although the whole resort tends to be quiet). People have a love/hate relationship with the Ranchos - they are beautiful and quiet with a nice quiet pool, but it is a hike to the main building (not compared to walking in the parks all day, though!).

It depends when in September they are going. Now, if she were to buy me a pina colada, I would be willing to share MY hammock by Casitas 5. :rotfl:

We were able to add Free Dining this morning too! I am so excited for our 1st stay at CSR!!! Now we need to work on a get together because I think there are a few others going to be there around the same time in September. We are going Sept 13-21st! After all the great info in this thread, we switched our request from Cabana's to Casitas 3. I can't wait

Thank you! The resort just looks beautiful! We are so excited to see it in person as we have only seen pictures. :goodvibes

I need to go back and keep reading the thread. I think I stopped at page 15 or so.

Thank you Kathy! We shyed away from the Casitas as it is usually reserved for conferences we were told. Though the week we are going down, there does not appear to be one (at least not yet). :thumbsup2

Do you know if they will allow an adult to take a child down? DD is going to be turning four while we are down there so I don't think she will be ready to go by herself. Perhaps DH or I could take her down it? :confused3

The beds look gorgeous and comfy! :cloud9:

First, that is not necessarily true about the "conventioneers" strictly being in the Casitas. It depends on how large the convention is, if they paid for Club service, etc. On all eight of our visits, there has been a convention going on (if not two) and we've never been troubled by the convention people.

No, none of the slides at any of the resorts will let you go down with a child. However, you can get a life jacket and she could go down and you can wait at the bottom to catch her. I think the ideal situation is all three of you go up to the slide, one of the adults go down first, then your daughter and then the last adult follow. This might make her feel a little more "secure" for her first time.

Congratulations! We just stayed at CSR in February, in Casitas 4, and it was beautiful. Didn't mind the walk anywhere...its Florida, its CSR, and its BEAUTIFUL! I didn't feel like we walked more than five-eight minutes to get anywhere and the longest walk was to the pool. Bus service, if you're using it, was excellent the entire time we were there. The rooms are gorgeous and the new beds and linens are fantastic.

Have a wonderful time and you're in the right place to have all of your CSR questions answered.

Wow...the more I see of this place, the more I like of it. I'm SOOO ready to go, and haven't swapped our ressie over yet. Still kinda waiting, not sure for what...but I can probably do it wednesday, I get off work early enough then!! :) I think we're gonna love it! I like the reports of the bus being less crowded. I'm just praying they give us connecting rooms. We all want to be together!! :)

Do any of the rooms have balconies? what about smoking areas? One person in our group is a smoker, so that's an important question!! HAHA Thanks for all the info....I think we'll make a good swap from SSR. That place is just too expensive!!! Even with the 40% off!!

Be sure to link your reservations and it will hopefully help you get connecting rooms or at least close. No moderate (or value) has balconies. However, there are benches all along the walk way around the lake in front of the buildings (and in the courtyards of the Casitas); plus you have the hammocks. Yes, there are several smoking sections and they are easy to find (there is a cigarette sign on the garbage can where they are located; there is also a "smoking thread" that shows maps of the smoking locations at the resorts).
