I stayed at BCV in February and between 6 and 7 Am there was complimentary coffee available at the food service area. Is there a similar service at CSR?
I will be a conventioneer who is a WDW fan so I hope to see some magic from the CMs as well (but I am quite forgiving) . I've never stayed at CSR ... for the convention I'd like a covenient room of course, but I plan to escape to the parks early AM and in the evening. Can anyone recommend a section that will keep me close to the convention action but convenient to buses etc. Thanks for your help.

I do not remember them ever serving complimentary coffee...but I could be wrong. I usually walk to the PM around 7 or 7:15 to get DH's coffee and my cappucino. Since you will be with a convention, I would request Casitas 1 or 2...close to the convention center, main building and Bus Stop 1 (however, this is the last stop picked up).

We leave this Thursday for CS!!! Two quick questions.... I am huge Iced coffee drinker (usually Dunkin Donuts). Can I get this at CS?

Also we are not bringing a laptop & do not have email access on our phones. Are there any computers in the lobby or somewhere else where we can check email? I just got an email that we will get special offers emailed to us. but how can we check them???

I don't remember 100%, but since they serve lattes, expresso and cappucinos, I am sure you can get an iced coffee as well. Because it is a convention resort, there is a business center where you can check emails. However, they do charge you for it. I can't tell you how much as I've never used it.

Good question. I'm going to CSR for a conference in two weeks. I don't want to take my laptop, but since I am going on company time I would like to check my work email occasionally.

See above for answer. :)

Could someone refresh my memory as to when we should fax in our room request. We did this last year for our stay and they honored our request to be in the Cabana section. Hoping for the same thing this year...just can't remember how far in advance we did it. Thanks!:goodvibes

I always send our fax in about three or four days before our trip.

Hello everyone. Just got back from CSR and we had a really nice time. Here's the breakdown:

Resort- I requested and received Casitas 4. It was a short walk from El Centro to the room, and a VERY short walk to the quiet pool and bus stop 2. However, if we return to CSR we might request Cabanas 8A due to its proximaty to bus stop 4 the Dig Site. The resort was overrun with teenagers the first weekend (some sort of grad night, I guess) so the resort was not so pleasant during that time, especially the pools. WAY too many boys and girls in heat.:headache: By Sunday they were all gone.
CSR is very beautiful, just like the pictures showed. Our first day we walked and visited all three sections and I really liked how differently each is from the others. It's like staying at three resorts in one. The grounds were always kept clean
Restaurants- We LOVED the Maya Grill, especially the mango margaritas!! Prime rib was scrumptious, and our server Cely was a cheeky little monkey! Pepper Market was alright, but one night we tried the chef's special, a braised beef, which knocked my socks off!
Pools-The quiet pool at Casitas was usually empty, or close to it. Maybe because it was freezing! Much colder than the dig site and Ranchos pools. Maybe because it's a lap pool?? Once the teenagers left, we found ourselved hiking over the dig site. The water was warmer and the slide was a blast, even for a guy in his later 30's:rolleyes1. We did have some excitement on our last night. A small boy, around 10, crawled up the pyramid to the top :scared1:. He got up there so fast before any lifeguard could see him. We had to alert the lifeguard. Whistles started blowing, lifeguards were hollaring at him to stay put, but the dad was hollaring at him to get down, kinda chaotic. Staff had to turn off the pyramid water and a lifeguard had to climb up the pyramid and snake through the vines to rescue the kid.
Buses-I can only remember one occasion when a bus ride was standing room only. However, we don't hit the parks at rope drop, and we don't stay until close, but we rode the buses a lot during the day and evening. The buses were often very vacant.

Thank you for your great review. That must have been scary with the 10 year old boy. Where were his parents? Thankfully, the lifeguards got to him okay.

Yes, I've heard "grad nightsd" can be quite chaotic at any of the resorts. I'm glad they weren't there for your entire stay.

Do you have any pictures to post? Did you see "Ally" (Glen's cousin)?

I want to be back at Coronado right now...:(
My kids found this picture I took in December and are bugging me about when we can go back. Coronado is our only option from now on.:goodvibes

GREAT PICTURE, Davey-D-99. Smart kids you have there! ;)

I hope you don't mind my using the picture for my desktop. My computer crashed two weeks ago and I LOST all my pictures and have not been able to update my pics since. (:

P.S. No CSR themed ticker? Anyone know where to find one?

Super cute tickers here, including a CSR one! Enjoy! (or other uses if you unfortunately do not have a trip planned at the moment)

I made one to countdown to school being out for my kiddos

that is an awesome pic, makes me wish I was there right now! It's almost like being at a deluxe at mod prices! :yay:

Yes, I'm upset that there is NO CSR themed ticker either. (:

Tell your daughter about the pool opening ceremonies that she can participate in and the great slide that she will want to go down over and over and over again. There's also the alligator to look for in the lake; the turtles "sunning" on the rocks by the bridge between the Casitas and the Ranchos.

and don't forget the hammocks! :cool2:

KatMark - thanks so much for the wonderful detail you've put into this thread! DH and I are coming to CSR 5/22 to celebrate our 20th anniversary. First time since the honeymoon we've been to WDW on our own. :woohoo: Can't wait!

After our last trip, my sisters and I decided we must stay at CSR! It will be our third resort and so far by the all the pictures and reviews I think it will be our favorite. How is the bus service there? After our experience at CBR, this is VERY important to us!

Thanks for the link! I might use a halloween one there I liked.

At the beginning of this thread, there's a photo that shows a night-table between the 2 queen beds.

Is this still there? We need that night-table. I have glasses that need a place when I sleep, plus the kids have drinks of water, a box of kleenex, and a flashlight.

Also, can someone give me information on plugs? Is there somewhere to plug in a night-light? Charge cell phones and batteries as necessary? Should I look at bringing a power-strip?

And can an "over-the-door" type organizer (like the plastic shoe style or something) be put "over-a-door"? Is there something for it to hook on? Do the bathrooms have an actual door or is it a curtain? How about the closet?

Yes, there is still a night table. For us, it was about the size of the one we have at home. Held a lot for us.

There is a desk with about 4 outlets plus 2 more outlets in the bathroom (maybe more but I remember 2). There might be more than that but those were the ones we used the most. We recharged our camera batteries every night and my cell phone at least once at the desk plus had a nightlight in the bathroom and didn't have a problem with outlets.

There is a door going from the vanity area of the bathroom to the room with the toilet/shower. You can hang something over that door.

Question....due to $ issues, I gotta go with 2 rooms instead of the 2br we now have at SSR, we're looking at CSR, cause we don't want to go all the way down to a value. How good are they at granting connecting rooms? We'll have 4 kids and 3 adults, and want everyone together. I like the fact that this resort has quiet pools, and a health plex. Do the quiet pools go more than 4 ft deep? How is the food court here?

This may have been answered so sorry for a repeat question but can someone tell me about how far it is (and how long it takes to walk) from Casitas 3 to the bus stop?

We've always had our request for connecting rooms granted.
The food court is wonderful!
I don't know about the pools though.

You can get an idea from this map:

We're staying at SSR for our trip in a week but I would have stayed at CSR if there had been rooms available.

Casitas 3 and 4, for that matter, are very close to the bus stop, which is the first one on, first one off. I think it took no more than two minutes, TOPS.

Its a fantastic location! Have fun.

ok i know this has probably been asked a gazillion times but there are tons of pages here. My question is: At the time when I goto CSR I will have a 10 yr old and a 6 yr old. What is the best room i should request for. We will be going from August 25th to 30th.

And I am soooo happy now, with the free dining, my reservations just came down $500.

We went this past March. My parents arrived 3 days after us. We had a request in to have rooms next to each other. When my parents arrived, it was not showing the request on their reservation (their travel agent didn't do it) but the room next to us had been reserved on ours. So.. mousekeeping went to the room next to us quickly and cleaned the room. Within an hour, they had it all cleaned and called my parents for them to move in. It was an easy fix. So even if you get there and the rooms aren't exact, they will work hard to fix it.

If you like the fitness center and quiet pool, you might want to stay in the Casitas. We were in Casita 2 and it was right around the corner from the fitness center and quiet pool. Worked out great for early morning and late night workouts for all of us.

If you think your Kids will want to spend allot of time in the Feature Pool (Digsite)...then I suggest the Cabanas 8A or 8B...then Ranchos 7B or 6B.

Man I wish I could go during free dining...as both of my kido's are considered "adults" now. :thumbsup2

Free Dining made it possible for us to upgrade from the All Star to CSR!!! :wizard: It will be our first time at CSR!!!:banana::banana:

Now to settle in and read this thread.....:surfweb:
