Convenient ways to bring water to the parks? Filtering bottles?

Hoping someone can answer this for me - do the Bobble bottle leak? We usually take the bottled water and keep the one we are drinking from in our bag during rides, etc. but I don't want to soak our bags.

Also Amazon just started sellling another Brita water bottle for about $10. I ordered one of those and one of the Bobbles to try at home before our trip to see which I thought was better before I ordered enough for the family.

We use a Igloo 12-pk back pack cooler. Before we head off to the park we pack about 8 water bottles, some flavored some not, in ice. It doesn't weigh that much and really is no big deal to carry like many people will have you believe.

For us the utility is in having icee cold drinks at your finger tips when you want them. I don't like to stop at CS for Florida water refills and I don't want to drop $20 for five waters every time we get thirsty.

Sounds like a practical solution to your desire to have cold bottled water with your family in the parks.

I don't know about the Bobble bottles, but I can tell you from years of experience that the Brita bottles do not leak under normal conditions. (They are made from much stronger plastic than the Bobble bottles.) However, they will leak a bit on an airplane due to the pressure expanding. I solved that problem by simply remembering to lift up the thing you sip from (whatever that is called) when entering the plane, which relieves the pressure. I believe that Target will soon be selling the Brita bottles.

I always plan on bringing my own water into the parks, but never follow through. It just ends up being one more thing to carry. I have bought water while there and sometimes wll just refill that bottle. My sister is pretty good at finding the bubblers that don't have bad tasting water. Theres a couple at each park. And, I do bring the water flavoring packets too.

I also think the water at WDW tastes exceptionally bad. We always bring Bobbles - have different colors for each of us. They really work to get rid of the bad taste. I carry mine in a light bag that has a pouch on the side for a bottle and it's saved us a ton of money on water.

Oh, and I carry it empty through airport security with no problem.

I saw the filter bottles that actually clean germs from the water at Eastern Mountain Sports - about $50.

I usually just bring a bottle into the parks and fill it up as we need it, I don't find that the water tastes that bad after the first day of drinking it I'm used to it and don't often notice a taste to the water after that.

I was thinking about buying a Vapur collapsible water bottle for our trip this summer, it seems like it'd be easy to store in a bag so that's a plus.

I have been using my Bobble for over a year, and have taken them all over the country on business trips. If they are empty, TSA will not bother you about them. They have charcoal filters which take out funky tastes, but nothing else...it will not filter out other materials.

I learned the hard way about physics, water bottles and air pressure in an airplane! LOL Like the Brita bottle, my Bobble barfed up water into my bag, but I fixed it by loosening the cap (twisting it loose) when I wasn't drinking from it. Other than that, however, it hasn't leaked at all in spite of its thinner construction. The only thing I can see people not liking is that it can be loud when you drink...when you finish taking a swig, the sound of the air re-entering the bottle can be a little loud. Not so good when you're in a corporate meeting, but shouldn't be an issue at WDW. I would suggest getting a holder for it...although it has a good ergonomic shape for holding, a separate cover will make it easier to carry and keep condensation in check.

Love my bobble. It has served me well and I have zero complaints. Customer service at bobble is fantastic as well. They now have larger capacity sizes, and you can get them all at Amazon. I'm glad to know that it was a good investment - my whole family has their own for our trip in May.

People that have Bobbles, have you seen any insulated bottle holders with straps?

I have seen these water bottles that filter tap water as you drink. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them? My concern is that they won't take that awful WDW water taste out of the water.

DH bought one a couple of years ago and it did work well - made the water drinkable and got rid of the funny taste. We found after 1 trip we didn't like using it because it wasn't that big.

We both have large refillable Nalgene style bottles that we use now. In the morning, we fill them at the food court using the water button on the soda fountain (all soda fountains have built in water filters). These hold us for most of the day. If we go to a counter service with a soda fountain, we'll top them off.

in America we have safe tap water. All talks of bringing filtering bottles is pointless.

My request wasn't about the safety of the water- but not all water is safe- but if I can take them on a plane overseas, where some of the water is questionable. I like to have water at hand without having to constantly buy a bottle and wasting the plastic and hurting the environment. ;)

We buy drinks in the park, usually with a snack credit (since we are usually on the dining plan). While I understand the importance of hydration, I also don't want to be hindered by having to carry stuff around in the park.

So you might think! Don't you know fluoride is a mind control agent?

Seriously, though, filtering tap water in the US most of the time has to do with taste than anything else.

Britta has a new filtering water bottle I just saw it at the store this weekend. It was prices around $12.

Who said anything was unsafe? sorry I don't see your point.

My point is that you may as well just drink from the fountain, or at most, carry a bottle to put water in it. Spending the extra money on a bottle that filters is pointless. Do as you wish though. I'm just pointing out that an empty ozarka bottle will do just fine.

We just bought these for our trip. I had my wife try them, who is a self admitted water snob, and she said they were great. You can find them a lot of places now, Target etc.

Camelbak Groove

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I got a Camelbak Groove. Can I still mix in the packets of lemonade? How do I keep it from clogging the filter?
