Hi everyone! I just wanted to get some opinions on which hotel to stay at. Me and my family have stayed at both the Contemporary and the GF and we love them both. We've already booked a trip this August at the GF, we aren't staying in the main building but we're staying in a deluxe room. We've been checking everyday to see if the Contemporary was available, because when we booked our trip the Contemporary wasn't available. Recently I checked online and there is a room on the club level of the Contemporary available but it would be an extra $500. The snacks sound good and convenient and I've heard you can watch wishes from the room in where the snacks are and the soundtrack from Wishes plays in the room during Wishes, which sounds awesome! Me and my family have no idea which hotel to stay at.

Opinions on this would be so helpful and I would appreciate it so much! Thanks! =)

If it was me, I would pick Contemporary, but only because I love club level! I thought it was totally worth it, as long as you utilize it as much as you can!

We've stayed at both and loved them for different reasons. However, if you're staying at the GF now - you should know that they are doing construction there for the new DVC buildings. The main pool (by the monorail) is open but is surrounded by construction walls (doesn't look too inviting). The rest of the resort is fine and unaffected. On the other hand - we just came back on Monday from the Contemporary and absolutely loved it. We didn't stay club level but we were on the 8th floor BLV and it was great. I think if you pay for club level you would need to really utilize the lounge as much as possible to justify the extra cost. You mentioned that you can watch Wishes from the lounge - which is great - but you can also watch from the 4th floor observation balcony or even go up to the higher floors and go out the end doors to view from those balconies (you can hear the music piped in there also). Either way - I'm sure you'll have a great time.

I'm a "main building snob" lol. Although before I go too far, I have never stayed at either resort. Only visited.

But here's my logic on it: If I am going to pay all that money to stay there, I'm dang well gonna stay in the main building. I'm not going to shell out a couple extra thousand dollars to be at a deluxe monorail resort just to stay in the garden wing. I have always dreamed of staying in the tower at Contemporary. If someone suddenly told me that money was no object and I could pick any resort at WDW, I would pick Contemporary Tower MK view. Club level isn't necessary but would be an added bonus. Same thing with GF. I love GF, I think it's gorgeous, but I would want to stay right there in the thick of things in that main building.

I know that's not what you were asking us to help with, just which we'd pick. Mine would definitely be CR. I'm sure you can't go wrong either way, though. I will live vicariously, lol.
