thank you all!! i must get DH to log-on here some time as he doesn't believe me that it takes 10 minutes and the monorail WILL take longer. We're going to be eating some meals at the Yacht Club and his version of the "fastest" way is monorail to TTC then monorail to Epcot, then walk from Epcot to Yacht Club. I may just do it my way (walk to MK then hop the bus stright to the Yacht Club) and show him who gets there faster.

The monorail will take longer because, from the Contemporary, it goes in the opposite direction. Plus, there's the waiting time.

the walk is not .8 miles unless you are counting to the castle.

The OP asked about the distance from CR to the castle, so as I said in my original post, that's the two points I measured between using Google Earth.

Actually, the resort monorail travels clockwise so the TTC is the next stop after the Contemporary.

But it would still be faster for the OP to walk to the MK and grab a bus to the YC. Mainly because the monorail takes you to the front entrance to Epcot and you'd have to walk all the way through EP to the IG entrance, then from there to the YC. Also, you'd have to use your tickets to get into Epcot and that might be a problem if you don't have park hoppers.

Its a very easy walk and one of the best things about the CR. I'd say total time, walking at a normal pace is 10 minutes max.

This is one of the reasons I chose the CR to stay in for our first visit. Mostly, I want to be one of the 1st in line in the AM for Space Mountain, and since it's a pretty easy walk it's less complicated for me, our 6-year-old, and DW.
