Consolidating website log-in ID

Would anyone know whether I will be able to consolidate the website log-in ID.

To provide everyone a little more background information. In the last couple of days, I have receiving the closing package for 2 contracts (Same resort, different use year, Oct & Dec). I happened to purchased these contracts from different brokers, thus different title companies.

These contracts were bought approximately 2 weeks apart. But due to the various amounts of time it takes for ROFR, Estoppel, etc, it looks like they will be closing at the same time, or at least I received the closing packages on the same day.

Long story short, because these will be my first(s) contracts with DVC, I will like to know how will they be set up? I assume because I do not currently have a membership number, I will be issued 2 different login ID because the contracts are going through different title companies even though the way it is titled is exactly the same. Therefore, is there a way I can get Disney to group the 2 contracts under the same login ID after, or the title companies can flag the contracts so Disney can group the contracts together when they enter them in the system?

Thanks everyone in advance for your advise.

They would not be setting them up at the exact same time - ie, one will be entered and then the other, even if it's done on the same day, and they are pretty good and setting up a new UY under the same ID. If not, there is now a link on the member website where an owner can add a membership to their existing log in.

Since they are different home resorts it's not that big of a deal even if they don't set them up under one sign on.

Seems like I was concern about something that is not that important or can be easily solved. Thanks everyone.

You might want to call up Member Administration to let them know you have 2 contracts going through the resale process to make sure they are on the same Member Numbered Account. You will have 2 different Resort Numbers. We bought a AKV contract after owning at VGF and it all shows up under 1 Member Account. As long as the names are the same on the paper work submitted to DVC there shouldn't be a problem combining the 2 Resort Numbers.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, I do not have a Member Numbered Account yet, as these contracts are my first ones. Both contracts are at SSR, but one has a Oct use year, and the other one has a Dec Use year. If DVC somehow set up two Member Numbered Account as it is very likely that both contracts will be going to DVC for recording about the same time, is it easy to have DVC consolidate it after? Thanks!

Since the OP is purchasing 2 different Use Years, they will have two different Member Account Numbers. No way around this. They can however, setup online access for both of them using one user id and password.

I believe ours are setup with different UY and different Resorts under one Member Number, but with different Resort Numbers, but I could be wrong. Just had our second Resort added to our account on Monday.

It gets very confusing with all the different types of Account Numbers, ie Disney Vacation Club ID #, Contract #, Resort ID #. They don't make it very easy, and I think they reference it differently in places on their own website adding to the confusion.

You won't know what DVC will do until they do it. They may put them under one login or you may have to do it. You also won't feel the effect of multiple UY's until you make a few reservations.

It used to be an issue but with the new option in the website it really isn't any longer. I think it's been there a year or less.

Your member number is the one that you use when you call in. Your resort contracts (contract number) are under your member number and you may have many of those under the same member number. They will be a single main contract number plus an extension of .0, .1, and so on. When you have that you can seemlessly use points from any of the contracts at 7 months because they are consolidated under the same member number. But, they all have to be the same UY.

Here we are just talking about the online log-in and having a single login access multiple memberships (number numbers) because different UYs will have their own membership number. There is a club ID but that is pretty much used internally and won't be needed for any normal use of a persons membership.

Because each UY has different time periods that points are eligible for use and different banking deadlines there really isn't a way you can have two UYs under the same membership, but of course an owner can have more than one UY and at the ownership level there can be a consolidation - likely under the otherwise unused club ID although I did not pay attention back when our two UYs were established. However DVC now apparently allows a custom consolidation for online access non-dependent on account setup.

To add to what KAT said, there is a hierarchy. Your Club ID identifies you. Under your Club ID are one or more memberships. If all of your contracts have the same UY, then you have just one membership associated with your Club ID. If you own contracts with different UYs, you will have more than one membership associated with your Club ID. Under each membership are one or more contracts. Contract IDs under the same membership have the same base number with incremental extensions, for example, Contract IDs 12345678.0, 12345678.1, etc.

All of my contracts are the same UY so they are all under the same membership. So in my case, the Club ID identifies me and under that Club ID is one Membership ID, and under that membership ID are a few Contract IDs, all with the same base number and different extensions (.0, .1, .2, etc.). My DH is co-owner. He has his own Club ID that identifies him and under his Club ID is the Membership ID for our jointly owned membership.

Those who own contracts with different UYs will have a Club ID that uniquely identifies that club member, and under their Club ID will be two or more Membership IDs (one per UY) and under each Membership ID will be one or more Contract IDs.

ETA: Most people only use the Club ID when they first set up their online account. The reason you need that Club ID to set up the account is that the Club ID uniquely identifies you. You could think of it as the DVC equivalent of your Social Security number. It is the unique key that links you as a person to everything about your DVC membership(s).

One more thing... Life will be much simpler for you if you make sure that all your contracts are titled identically.

Great explanation of the membership hierarchy, it definitely gets confusing with different resorts with different UY's. The DVC website seems pretty easy to figure out which contract you are using the points for a reservation, thankfully.
