What's the connection between the Black Panthers and Acorn?:confused3

They are both groups of "Community Organizers"?......and thus are likely recipients of stimulus funds?

Just throwin' it out there.......

I think, the one good thing that has come out of this mess. I hear folks...that never cared much about politics...now paying attention. I see a lot of outrage and disbelief concerning the actions of Obama and his comrades.

::yes:: I made another prediction if y'all remember.........BACKLASH! :teeth:

I can't remember if we have any Texans in here, looks like I'm probably going to be having surgery on March 25th, but will know for sure on Saturday when I talk to my endo. I want my parents to have some fun down in Houston, I don't need them sitting with me 24/7, it's going to be boring watching me try to do stuff with my nose packed with balloons. So, I figured I'd send them to Galveston for the day, but I see that it's going to be Spring Break during the whole month.

Is it really bad? My parents are 66 and 71, I don't think they'd enjoy having to fight through a bunch of drunk college students. Is there stuff they can do and enjoy down there? It's not really one of those places that we would seek out to go to, but we're going to be down there, so they might as well go. Thanks.

Here's a link to Moody Gardens. There's a lot to see and do there and they could easily kill the better part of the day.

They could also head over to the Strand, which is the historical district. Lots of shopping, antique stores, places to eat, etc.

Most of the Spring breakers will be at the beaches or hanging around the seawall so hopefully that won't be an issue.

If they don't want to go quite that far South there's also Space Center Houston.

Hope this helps :)

And I love how he said "Americans don't care..." as if those of us who DO care are not Americans. Each time a Democrat makes a marginalizing statement (Biden: "it's unpatriotic to want lower taxes", Obama: "Republicans need to stop listening to Rush") they show themselves to be cowards. Real leaders welcome different points of view and can handle debate. These Democrats seem, awfully, awfully afraid.:sad2: :sad2:
I love how these crooked politicians seem to think they know exactly what every American thinks. Uh-huh, sure.... the Dems are starting to go into full panic mode, quite obviously.

Yay!!!! I hope everything goes well Honu!!!:goodvibes
I don't usually quote the Huffington post but this one was just too good considering they actually reported it:
:thumbsup2
I didn't know there were so many communists on the dis. I am surprised at the number of folks that want the government to be in total control.

I'm also surprised at the number of "educated" people that know Obama's plans are bad...but don't care. "At least, he's doing something." Huh???
The so-called "educated" ones.... yeah, not so much. They really are ignorant.... or maybe they're just blind?? Who knows....

OMG, that looks cool. I wish we had more time down there. Maybe I can get them to push me in the wheelchair around there...

I've already told them that we're going there on the day before my surgery because I really want to go there. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I really appreciate that info.

Howdy, ya'll.

Okay, so after talking it over with DH, I think that I pay too much attention to politics so I'm limiting my internet time to once or twice a day. :badpc:

I will still come when I do to talk to my DIS friends and annoy the lurkers. ;)

OK have to vent for a sec - it makes me mad but its kinda funny.

DH has life ins thru AIG - policy premium needs to be paid in Feb - we just moved so could see how notice might be late. Last Feb we got the notice late though our address never changed. Curious. But we got notice 24 hours after policy was to be cancelled. Interesting business practice. So this year. No notice. Call (800) number in bill pay file online - gives me another (800) to call.

Call that (800) number.

It's a nasty girl talk line.

Is that what AIG spent its bailout money on??:confused3 Seriously? I would think they want me to pay the policy premium....but maybe not??:confused3

Ok sorry to interrupt.

:confused3 Weird weird weird..... did I mention that's weird?

Holding my tongue.... holding my tongue.... I can't afford more points than I already have. But.... ugh, never mind. Consider the source and the poisoned koolaid.

Don't ask, guys. I'm venting to myself on our thread.

I know, some people need to look elsewhere for their fix. :teeth:
