Confused about Jan 2014

We are so undecided about when to go for our next trip and last trip for a while. We thought we decided for Jan 4 - 11 of 2014 but when I put the dates in it says no availability. Is it too early to book for those dates? I thought that would be an empty week being it is the first week back to school after Winter break....any help would be appreciated...thanks!!!

I think they open up bookings for 2014 in June or July...when the new rates come out. I am sure someone with some more knowledge or experience will correct me if I am wrong.

You can call and reserve a room only for dates in 2014, but you won't be able to do anything online until they release the new pricing. Which, will be a few months.

I called over a month ago and made reservations for 12-29 through 1-6-14. I booked a vacation package! It was also letting me look online as well! I would just call them and ask! Calling always helps me out better! Good luck planning

You won't be able to book any packages for 2014 until the beginning of August. That is when the upcoming year is released. The person who called and successfully booked for end of December through the beginning of January was successful because their trip started in December. I would check back August 1. It is typically the first week in August - that is when I have been booking for the past few years. We went in Jan 2011 and our first day was Jan 2nd, and we couldn't book until all 2012 dates were released.

New rates usually come out in August, but have come out as early as June/July the last year or two. You can book room only now by calling. You will be quoted the highest rate for 2013 for that particular resort/room type, which will automatically be adjusted once the 2014 rates come out. A deposit equal to 1 night's room rate + tax will be required at booking. To book a package or book online, you have to wait until the new rates are released. Keep in mind that if you book room only now and want to change to a package later, the room only will have to be cancelled/refunded and the package booked, as money paid toward one cannot be applied to the other. With that said, if you want a package to begin with, it's better to wait for the new rates. HTH

We have our 2 bedroom villa at the BC reserved through AAA with their discount for Jan. 9 - 13 for marathon weekend. Some of the host resorts for the marathon may have blocks of rooms set aside for participants in the races and that may make a difference. We were amazed at the amount of people that go for this weekend so take that into consideration with your dates. Last year there were over 25,000 participate in each of the marathon and half marathon and another 10,000 plus for the family 5k race.
