Hi there,

UPDATE ON PAGE 2

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We received an email from Disney Destinations with a PIN code, which they converted to a 3 letter code for 30% off.
The disney reservationist told me that it is for room only and we could not buy the dining and tickets as a package if we chose to use the discount. (we currently booked as a pkg thru Disney directly - room/PH tics/dining).
She told me we'd be better off leaving the reservation as is because paying for food OOP vs. the dining plan outweighed the room discount offered.
I guess I'm wondering....why do they offer you a discounted room rate, but take it away when you are willing to still buy hoppers and dining :confused3 This is the first "code" ever issued to us.
Thanks for helping me understand.
I would call again.
Maybe a more experienced CM can help you find the right letter codes that will be 30% off the room and still allow you to have dining and tickets. It should be doable.
Call back.
The PIN code I received was 40% off the room portion of my package. (And, yes, it was from Disney Destinations too). We were still able to get parkhoppers and DDP.
I'm guessing your CM was confused. Call back and speak to someone else.
Call back. My pin was room only too but the CM knew to look for the package code to go with it.
Thanks all of you...I'm looking at the email and it says nothing about room ONLY.
It says:
Stay in a standard room at a select Disney Value Resort for just $82. per night + tax, available for most stays 8/3-10/1/08.
OR
Save 30% off the nondiscounted price. Available dates, etc..including the dates we have booked. Be sure to have your PIN
I think I'll call back in a little while or tomorrow, I just hate sounding "pushy".
Pushy New Yorker here. Call now.
I read somewhere that evening calls are more likely to go to the Tampa call center, and that those CMs are (for some reason) friendlier and more willing to help.
I've only called at night, and have spoken to no one who wasn't helpful. The one you got was an abberation.
Pushy Ex-New Yorker here,
I totally agree with Aliceacc, you should call now. Don't dwell on it, just do it.
LOL! We have family in West Babylon and my DH is from Brooklyn. Wanna call for me :scared: :rotfl: Yikes, I did just call around 8PM. She was polite and all, but didn't make me believe she knew exactly what she was talking about because she hesitated alot.
Have DH call:rolleyes1
Seriously, you may have just gotten a very nice newbie who didn't know her stuff. With all the people they have answering the phone, you're NOT going to get the same person. (If somehow you did, have an alternate question ready-- like can they apply the code to another resort or something.)
I'm about 20 minutes from West Babylon. But I'm a teacher. I'm used to telling people what to do... sorry!!!
Have DH call? They'd cancel my ressie! :lmao:
On yours and everyone's advice, I will call back tomorrow and start fresh.
I'll update you all then. Thanks alot and have a great night.
My email says the same thing your does, and I got the room discount along with the park hoppers and the basic dining. You should be able to get the same thing. I hope you get a CM this time who knows what to do with your code. Good Luck. :cool2:
The three digit code you have I am guessing is for room only.
However... there should be a variety of packages to choose from you can book as an alternative offer. Examples: MYW; MYW + Dine; MYW + Dlx Dine
OK, so what happened??
OK, so what happened??
Done!! I got a man named Ken who was wonderful and told me he simply had to convert the code as some of you have already mentioned.
I was able to save my mom $200. on her pkg. She is disabled/speech impaired and on a fixed income, so I am thrilled for her.
Back story is I've booked a total of 3 rooms as packages, but since the PIN/Code is "household specific" he could only offer the discount to my mother since it was in her name and sent to her email address. He told me he could not apply the discount to the other 2 rooms for us. Oh well, at least the code can be used for the person who needed the savings the most.
Thank you for all your help everyone, I'm so glad you encouraged me to be persistant :)
Call one more time.
Others here have been able to book up to 3 rooms using a PIN code. It may be a different code, or you may just need a different CM. When I got my 40% off code, I was told I could book up to 3 rooms. (Then my sister chose a time when the code wasn't valid, and my friend got a code of her own.)
But one more phone call is worth $400 to you, isn't it?
DITTO!
First call, I was told one room and room only
Second call, I was told could be a package and could be used for a second room.
Third call, I was told could be a package and could be 3 rooms - BINGO! - that's when I booked.
I had a feeling you were going to tell me that from all the posts I've been reading.;) ....but he said they were name specific, how do I argue/inquire about that??
Wow, why can't we ever get the right info the first time we call, geesh!
