**CONFIRMED** Rumor About the Resort Refillable Mugs!

Is there any limit on how many times you can refill either the mug or the paper cup in a single day. Can I sit and eat and refill my paper cup as many times as I want to while I am eating? Can I refill my mug as many times as I want to in a single day? Or are these questions that we don't know the answer to yet?

The paper cup will only be able to be filled 4 times within a certain time frame, likely 1 hour. We do not know if and what the time between mug fills will be, but they will not have a refill limit.

The 16 minute example I gave above was using one mug for all 4 members of a family. It would take them 16 minutes to get enough drinks for all of them if they only paid for one mug.

so i took my DD to sesame place a couple years ago and they have these machines. im assuming that the Disney ones will be the same. the chip was actually inside a sticker on the bottom of the cup(you can just pull it off when you get home). there is a little stand under each flavor on the machine and you have to sit the cup on it, thats how it reads the chip. i you can have as many drinks as you like per meal/day you just have to have 5 minutes in between refills. the machines also know how much will fit in each cup and will automatically stop dispensing soda when it's full.

I stayed at the All Stars (sports) during the trial period a few years ago. The mugs were a nightmare in my opinion. They looked just like the current mugs, only mine was orange lid/handle. IT SIMPLY DID NOT WORK. I believe it must have been part of my dining package, because for some reason I didn't complain . But here I am 3 years later - still at it. You could get free water, coffee, and probably hot cocoa (although I didn't drink cocoa). I ended up drinking coffee the whole visit to save the frustration of trying to fill my mug. I'll admit, I'm an idiot. But a college educated adult idiot at that, so I'm thinking it may be even more difficult for little ones, etc. I think that was also the trip that I hit Pop Warrner week and they put me in the farthest away building they had (after requesting opposite) as I recall, so there were other irritations as well. If I had the choice NOT to stay where this mug was in use, I'd probably switch hotels.

How is it not the loss that I stated? If a family of 4 wants to use mugs on their current trip, but brings mugs from a previous trip, Disney has just lost the revenue from the mugs that should have been purchased by the family. The lost revenue is not about the soda, it is about the mugs.

So if I bring food from home to eat to save money, am I stealing from Disney because that is list revenue they could have had in a character meal. These mugs are $17, do you know how much it costs to make a mug like those????? I ll tell you, like $1. How much for the soda?? Pennies!! You can't base it on shoulda woulda coulda!!

Of course bringing food from home is not stealing. That's not the same thing as reusing an old mug at all. You most certainly can base it on "shoulda". A family of 4 that brings back their mugs "shoulda" paid Disney $60 to get new mugs for their second stay if they want to get free refills. It doesn't matter how much the mug costs to make or how much the soda costs. I don't walk into Target and tell them, "Hey, I know this $30 sweater only cost $4 to make so I'm just going to take it." Disney is a business first and foremost. They are giving customers what they pay for just like every other business does. Yes, there is a markup, just like every other business does. That is how they make a profit. Do I think it is a good deal for everyone? Certainly not, and that is why it is an option and not mandatory.

What I have never understood is why Disney has not changed the design of the resort refillable mugs. That would help prevent people reusing them on future trips..just my two cents

I saw folks using mugs from other parks, the 32 oz bubba mug and just about anything else they could find. Disney would have to hire security to Just stop the entitled from their free soda

I know that is not the only solution to the problem but it would be a start. I didn't see anyone using any other mugs on my trip but I'm sure it happens. I just thought it would be nice to switch up the designs.

it would be nice if they were bigger since you can only use it at the resort then you wouldn't have to trek across the resort so much. or just let us use them in the parks. if we were not doing the DDP i wouldn't pay for the mug.

I usually fill my mug, drink it almost immediately, and then refill it and sit down. Especially, if I have just walked over to the food court from my room in the hot Florida sun.

Ditto here: fill, take a good long thirst-quenching gulp, then refill and go back to the table to eat.

I'm kinda struggling with the description "Rapid Fill" here too... what in this whole process is going to make these any quicker to fill than the current mugs??? All I can see is restrictions and things that will confuse and slow people down.

Perhaps you could forego getting ice in that situation since the drinks come out of the machines cold. That way you would get the full 16 ozs. of drink, and since you plan to drink it right away with your meal, you would probably finish it before it ever got warm. Just a thought.

Sometimes I like to have both coffee and a cold drink, so in the past I've gotten the coffee, poured it into another cup, then rinsed and refilled the mug with lemonade. But it's not really a big deal; I'll just have coffee after the meal in the future.

Hi, my name is Lori, and I am a Disney addict! And, yes, I do sometimes feel like I need a 12 step program for the Disney obsession. LOL!

We always use the DDP, and get the refill mugs with the DDP. Best. Thing. Ever!!!

I just LOVE it when we get there and I am sitting by the pool with our kids, and my husband brings me my new mug filled with unsweet tea. It's like an early Christmas present for me!

Even if we weren't using the DDP, I would still purchase the cup. You can't beat the $4 per day for drinks at a theme park.

We go every year, and have gotten the same style cup for the past three years, at least. I am still happy with it. I would love to see a new design, but I would be perfectly content with new colors. I am quite partial to purple (hint, hint to anyone at WDW! =)

This new deal will work out well for my family. We are staying for 15 nights on our next trip (6 days BLT /9 days AKV). This will work out at just over a dollar a day. Far less than previously as we will not have to purchase new mugs half way through split stay holiday. We will be travelling with our DD3 who will need to go back to the resort each afternoon for down time/ pool time. We will probably refill them 5-6 times a day. It will also allow as to use them when we pool hop ( we are DVC members). For us it is a win win situation.

I can see why it will be unpopular for some but it will work for some others.
