*Confirmed* G+ Changes to Advanced Lightning Lane

then deluxe has to offer an experience worth more than a moderate/budget/offsite.
I agreed with the other poster on the discussion of tiered aspect. Tiered before covid was centered around level of hotel, the amenities you got at the hotel. It was not determined by perks of the theme park. That has been a shift where evening EMH is only given to Deluxe. That is a fundamental shift in how Disney is doing business. And it won't make me stay on site whatsoever either, it's done the opposite. If they continue to give Deluxe and only Deluxe the theme park perks it will further cement never staying on site again. I'm under no illusion that ultimately matters to Disney but I do see where the other poster was coming from.

but I also think I remember where if you had a certain tier of resort status, then you got extra FP pre-booking slots... then covid and no FP of any kind,
You might be thinking of Club Level, It didn't come automatic with Club Level you still had to pay for it at $50 per person per day and it came with minimum stay requirement I think. Would you be comfortable with Disney going that route with Genie+? Giving only those with Club Level certain Genie+ perks that non-Club Level guests don't get? And what I'm meaning is excluding those perks from anyone who isn't Club Level and only giving it to people of Club Level because that's more the track that Disney is on these days.

I do believe more of such is coming. Absolutely. But if they exclude perks from all else, their moderate and value hotels will suffer with bookings.

I thought about off-site in January because of the lack of onsite perks now, but ít could very well be our last trip, and I caved.

I was asking how that poster would feel hypothetical regarding giving only Club Level something with Genie+ which would exclude them. I was asking based on their previous conversation with the poster where they were coming at it from a DVC owner perspective.

They already exclude moderate and value with not having them qualify for evening EMH.

yes, that is what I was thinking of.

I would not be upset if Club level got extra perks like free Genie+. While others had to pay similar to what we are paying now. Especially as I would have an option to utilize that if I choose to book that level. I would not like an all or nothing... meaning Club gets it and no one has any option (paying etc) to secure Genie+.. Virtual etc. I would be disappointed if the price point was prohibitive

I love the snacks and drinks I get when I am able to book Club Level. Yes I know they are not "free" as we end up paying in more points, but it is a nice option at times. Part of why we chose Animal Kingdom when buying our DVC over SSR was the various room options (value, standard, savanna, club). I never used that perk, I seem to remember thinking about booking those extra fast passes, but the rides we wanted RISE, Smugglers were not included or something like that. There was some reason i did not choose the option when it was available.

Nope, not interested in having any more derby style FP experiences or having to keep my face in my phone looking for an opening. Spoiled at SW and OU.
We've been doing single rider when possible and rope dropping for the first couple of rides because it's just not worth my time to play the genie game. We pay top tier prices to get top tier benefits and DW just doesn't make it worth it.

With Genie+, offsite guest and onsite guest can both book LL at 7 am. I don't like that.
But, on the flip side of that, resort guests get early entry - there's already a benefit and a way to ride high-demand rides with little wait. Plus, not many rides get completely shut out early in the day - having competition from offsite guests doesn't mean on-site guests don't get to ride what they want 🤷‍♀️

What I don't get is how nobody is upset about G+ out of principal alone. The day before it went on-line there would have been whole threads dedicated to anyone cutting in line. You hand Disney a $20 to do so and now it's OK? Not with me it's not!

So the fix - and yes, I believe there is one. Scrap G+ entirely. Have the headliners be VQ only (FoP, Guardians, RotR, SDD and TRON). VQ drop is 7a and 1p like it is now. If you miss the drop for whatever reason, sell LL for the headliners ONLY. All of the other lines are tolerable - ALL OF THEM. The standby lines only get ridiculous because G+ allocates the majority of seats on the rides to paying line-cutters. Stop it already!

What added benefit do you offer to staying on-property? Extra, legitimate EMH like it used to be. not the morning EM0.5H we have now - that is of almost no benefit. If they insist on having a ton of after hours events, then maybe give on-property guests a discount or just plain let them in.

Early entry is useless to people who don't rope drop.

Probably not during slower times, which we travel. Not sure about heavy crowd times. But I take that SDD is unreal no matter when.

And I do think that even more on site tiering of benefits is coming. I can see that and the logistics of it.

If they scrap G+, I'm never coming back.

Someone paying $1000 plus a night for lodging that's worth about $350 deserves to cut line. Same for top tier FL AP holders.
I pay extra everywhere else I go to not have to swelter with the unwashed masses.
Next people will want to stop child swap and disability access.

They're not going to scrap G+....

I have to laugh at the folks who complain about G+ and having to be up and online at 7AM for 45 seconds to make their first LL and/or ILL and/or VQ. So instead, they rope drop...... huh? In my family, I'm an early riser, the rest aren't. So I can easily handle the Genie+/ILL stuff for the morning and they can sleep. I would never get them all moving for rope drop. And that's ok - we all vacation differently at WDW, and we can all be successful with how we do it. G+ allows us the chance to hold LLs in multiple parks at the same time - something we couldn't do with FP or FP+. So we start a little later, grab an LL for later in the day, and enjoy the day. I hope any G+ changes are minimal.
