Hi guys, wow its been awhile - I joined back in 2004 and haven't been to back to Disney since the GF in 97 and Poly in 2000 when I was 13. I think its FINALLY time to come back! :teeth:

Since I have spent so much time away from the boards this will likely be a dumb question but I would appreciate your help.

So I'm hoping to go the CR or Poly around May for what looks like "Regular" season rates. Having experienced concierge service during both previous trips, I'd love for my gf to experience it as well. I see there are 40% off room-rate codes available but am having a hard time determining prices w/ concierge service (how much extra, if I need a special tower room etc)

Can someone fill me in on which rooms the concierge level start (least expensive) at and at what cost for the CR and POLY? I'm hoping with a little luck and maybe a 40% off code I can show her why I've missed Disney so much over the last 10 yrs.

THANKS GUYS and Glad to be Backk!! :yay: thumbsup2:yay:

In general no matter what the Contemporary rates are less expensive then the Polynesian. As for their Club Level rates at the Contemporary the least expensive would be an Atrium Club - Bay Lake View and the Atrium Club - Theme Park View is about $40 more per night. Also both those rooms are located on the 12th floor of the Tower. They also have more Standard Club Level rooms located on the Tower Club 14th floor, however they are more expensive because that floor also has various suites and there are only 4 standard rooms located up there.

At the Polynesian their least expensive Club Level room is a Garden View - Club Level room which is followed by a Lagoon View - Club Level and a Theme Park View - Club Level.

Thanks for the feedback and boy have the prices gone up since I last checked - even with the at best 40% off...I wonder if there are any other ways I can lower the cost. hmmm:scratchin

Unless I'm missing something on their sites for 2011 Regular season I see:

Poly Club w/ Concierge Garden View Standard: $585
CR Standard Atrium Club : $635

So wouldn't the Poly be the cheaper option?

You're welcome and maybe I got the rates confused because the Contemporary usually has less expensive rates then the Polynesian for their non Club Level rooms. Still I would go with the Contemporary because in my opinion it's better staying in a Tower where everything is located in, plus the Contemporary also has a hot tub and gym to work out at, which are two things not available at the Polynesian.

Thats something to think about as I would like a gym in the hotel.

I would have thought the CR would be less expensive as well from what I remember. I am assuming the Tower Bay Lake View at $475 and Tower Theme Park View at $525 are not concierge rooms? Otherwise I guess the Poly actually is cheaper

Yes that the correct because the Tower Theme Park View and Tower Bay Lake View are their regular rooms, which are not located on their Club Level floors.

Have you considered AKL CL at $430 or BWI CL at $545?

BWI CL service is very nice and you can walk or boat to Epcot and DHS from the BWI. The CM in the CL lounge are excellent and make for a very special stay.

I also really enjoy the CL service at AKL. If you stay CL at AKL you can do a special sunrise safari at AK. That alone is worth staying CL. However, it can be difficult to book those rooms with a discount.

AK is next on my list. I really enjoyed staying by the lake the last 2 trips and loved the monorail service. I have heard some great things about AK though.

I'm being surprised by a few things here. Grand Floridian Sugarloaf Club Level w/ Concierge is $635 as well....I definitely thought that one would be more expensive than the CR and Poly.

Can anyone weigh in on which Concierge they would choose between the Poly, CR, and GF? I'm sure many of you have had some great experiences.

Also, I got the Fall offer code like many others for 40% rack rates, whether from one for the general public, a code like this, or Disney Visa, do you think Il be able to get 40% off a concierge stay at one of these resorts either during Regular or Value season (somewhere May - August)?

Thanks :goodvibes

Between those resorts I have had many Club Level stays at the Contemporary and one Club Level stay at the Polynesian. Now obviously I think the Contemporary one is better because of their Cast Members, food offerings, the lounge and staying right in the Tower where all the action is happening.

Now when it comes to things like the Fall/Winter Room Only promotion I can say last month when we stayed Club Level at the Contemporary that was a Bounceback rate and at the Boardwalk that was the Summer Room Only promotion. So you can get those type of discounts and stay Club Level.

I've started to lean towards the CR myself actually. Having stayed at both the GF and Poly before, it would be nice to check out the CR.

Any ideas on why the CR has the cheapest standard room rates but most expensive entry Club level ($635) compared to the other two? I wouldn't think it would be location as you have the chance of getting Bay lake (thats fine) or a parking lot view...

Well the Contemporary also has two Club Level floors like I said before, those being the Atrium Club and Tower Club. The Tower Club is more expensive because they have a total of 16 rooms which is a lot less compared to the other floors, that happens to be where their various suites are located and there are only 4 standard rooms. So that means the Atrium Club is the less expensive Club Level floor since all they have are standard rooms.

I see. Even with less rooms I would have never thought it would be more than the grand floridian.

The Disney website is a very misleading. It describes CR Standard Room Atrium Club Level as:
The Tower Club offers limited concierge service, Continental breakfast, midday snacks, and refrigerator (upon request). All rooms have two queen-size beds or one king-size bed, day bed, table and chairs, ceiling fan, and large bathroom with private commode. Tower Concierge Rooms offer views of the Magic Kingdom® Park and parking area, or Bay Lake. Non-smoking and disabled-accessible rooms are available. Amenities include in-room wall safe, voice mail, high-speed Internet access (additional fee), phone in bath area, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Coffeemaker and refrigerator are available upon request.

BUT...they now have a booking category for Magic Kingdom View Atrium Club Level so if you want a MK view you have to book that and pay more for it.

Here's my take on the 3 choices you listed-Poly, CR, & GF. I've never done GF. I considered it this summer but decided against it when I realized that GF (or Poly or CR) does not offer bus service to Epcot. So from GF you have to take the monorail from GF to MK to CR to TTC and transfer there to take the Epcot monorail. I just knew this would drive me crazy as I found it annoying when staying at CR returning from Epcot to have to take the monorail from TTC to Poly to GF to MK before returning to CR. For that reason I enjoy Poly the most as far as location is concerned. I like being able to walk to TTC to catch the Epcot monorail. Getting to/from MK is relatively easy via either monorail or boat-easier than getting to Epcot from GF or CR. But from CR you walk to MK.

I enjoy the Poly beach and the atmosphere there at night with the tiki torches. I also like the rooms better at Poly than CR. I really didn't like the sinks at CR (silly little thing I know). And CR doesn't have much drawer space if you like to unpack.

I however like the CL service at CR better than Poly but I haven't been CL at CR since Dec 2006. I found the CR had much nicer variety in the morning than Poly. That is the time I am mostly like to make use of the CL food offerings.

As far as discounts you never really know what availability there might be. You might not be able to find your 1st choice available with a discount. It really helps to be flexible.

I appreciate the detailed feedback. If I do get a choice its really a tough call...If you had told me awhile back the GF concierge would be cheaper than CR and the same as Poly I'd want that in a heartbeat...But the other two definitely have their strong points

The Disney website is a very misleading. It describes CR Standard Room Atrium Club Level as:

The WDW website also stats the Atrium Club is limited Club Level when it's been full Club Level since Janurary 2006, plus that you need to request a fridge and when staying on the Atrium Club floor you choose between the Magic Kingdom View or Bay Lake View. So just like the non Club Level floors those views will be more expensive since it's on a Club Level floor.

To the OP here is all the information I wrote on the Contemporary FAQ thread of the difference between both Club Level floors at the Contemporary, so you can see exactly what they are and etc.

Both Club Level floors offer service which includes personalized front desk and guest services, turndown service, refrigerator, coffeemaker, and lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks, evening wine and cheese, beer, and evening cordials and dessert. The Atrium Club is on the 12th floor and is comprised of standard rooms and has full Club Level service. The Tower Club on the 14th floor offers the same full Club Level service. When you arrive tell the Cast Members working at the bell services desk located outside you are staying Club Level. They will call another Cast Member escort you up to the 12th or 14th floor because they already have a key which is coded for either floor that needs to be insterted into the elevator, so once you arrive on your floor you can check-in up there.

Difference between the 2 Club Level floors

The Atrium Club Magic Kingdom View and Bay Lake View became available by reservation on 01/09/09. Prior to that all you needed was an Atrium Club reservation and you would end up with either view.

With the Tower Club there are a total of 16 rooms, 5 standard rooms and 11 suites: 1 & 2 Bedroom Suites, a Vice Presidential Suite and a Presidential Suite. With the standard rooms, there is no guarantee of a Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake View. However with the Suites, you will be booked into a particular view which will indicate the Magic Kingdom View or Bay Lake View. Finally there are 4 Standard Magic Kingdom View rooms and 1 standard Bay Lake View room.

The lounge on the 12th floor is bigger with more seating then the 14th floor Club Level. They converted 3 standard rooms into the 12th floor lounge, so there are 3 balconies available on the MK side for all Club Level guests to watch the fireworks. The lounge on the 14th floor also offers seating outside on the balcony, which is something that is not offered on the 12th floor lounge.

In the 14th floor rooms their mini fridges will already have cans Coke, Diet Coke, water and apple juice. The mini fridges for the rooms on the 12th floor are not stocked like the ones on the 14th floor, however anyone staying on the 12th floor can always take those items from the lounge themselves and put them in there.

The balconies in the rooms and the lounge on the 14th floor are bigger then balconies in the rooms and lounge on the 12th floor.

Finally both floors serve the exact same foods for breakfast, afternoon snacks, 5:00 PM hors d'oeuvres and 8:00 PM deserts & cordials. The 12th floor Atrium Club is less expensive then the 14th floor Tower Club, even though on both floors offer the exact same service. The 14th floor is more expensive because fewer number of total rooms and Suites.
