They've never had them when I've been there.

We've stayed CL at CR, Poly, BWI and GF, and so far only BWI has had hard-boiled eggs.

I am not an expert on this but I have found out a few things. I haven't heard that the balconies are closed at the Beach Club. I think that may be the Wilderness. Not all rooms have balconies and some are standing room only. This includes club level and reg. rooms. The standard club rooms are no bigger than the reg. rooms. I am getting a Deluxe club room ( it is bigger). The club rooms are located on the 5th floor. The Deluxe rooms are corner rooms ( I believe from the 1st to 4th floor) with access to the club floor. You can request a balcony, but it is not guaranteed. I haven't stayed there yet so my information if strictly from asking questions. I requested a balcony too not sure if I will get one or not.Hi everyone, This is my first time posting on this thread....I think.
I booked today at Beach Club concierge. It will be our first time stay at any Epcot resort. So naturally I have a couple questions:
1. Where are the concierge rooms located? I have just book standard CL, I heard someone on a different thread say that the CL rooom have a closed balcony. I understand that other non-Cl rooms have a open balcony. Can someone please explain this to me?
2. I have looked on several sites and can not find the size of the rooms at BC. Are all the rooms the same size or are CL rooms larger then standard rooms?
We are so excited for this trip.TYIA

We are PLOY lovers, and have our fifth trip to the PLOY scheduled for October. We stayed in the Tahiti building TPV the last 4 visits, but decided to upgrade to CL TPV this year to stay in Hawaii. We are excited to try CL, with location being the best part. We have requested 3rd floor so we can have a balcony. Any other suggestions? Do you hear the music from the pool in the building?
Sept will be our 4th time staying in Hawaii TPV. You won't hear the music from the pool from your room, but if you open your sliding glass door, you will be able to hear the background music loop, not too loud. If you're in your room for the Electrical Parade, you will also be able to hear the music, as well as MK fireworks.
Enjoy your stay! In my opinion, nothing can top the Poly, especially CL. Most of the CMs are terrific.![]()
We booked our first BC stay several weeks ago. We booked club level as well so I have done some research on the rooms. All of the Club Level rooms are located on the 5th floor (where the lounge is located) except for the deluxe CL rooms. I think those are on various other floors but still have access to the 5th floor lounge. Garden View CL rooms (which is what we booked for only a few dollars more than standard view CL) all have full balconies. Standard or water view rooms have either full or Juliette (standing room) balconies. From what I've read on the BC/YC FAQ thread (very helpful), if a full balcony is important to you, put that down as your top request. If Garden View is available & you want a full balcony, I'd upgrade. I think it was less than $10 more per night with our AP discount.
CL rooms are the same size as regular rooms, except the deluxe rooms, which are larger.
One word to describe the BC CL lounge is claustrophobic. It's a lot smaller then the BWI CL lounge, and the Cast Members are not as friendly as those at the BWI. In addition as the Cast Members at the BC are responsible for clearing the tables, they tend to stand watching you the whole time, giving you a "creepy" feeling.Last year we stayed BWI CL 3 times. I love the theming at BWI. We had happily stayed there non CL until one time when no regular rooms were available. Well we liked it so much we have stayed CL there since (no need to convince DH and that's something). But I have to say the rates are rising like crazy even with FL and AP discounts!
The only other resort we have stayed at is CR. Over there we stay at BLT, Tower or Garden Wing. I like the convenience of Contempo Cafe and generally feel no need for CL while at CR.
My questions are:
We are considering BC or YC for 1st week March - my DD4 was really interested in the pool last time we were there. But I am worried about having no place to sit down. (We are a party of 3) Unlike WL and BWI, which has consistent good reviews, BC, YC and Poly have been mixed. If you cannot find a place to sit, is it ok to bring a plate to your room? This is doable but is it frowned upon?
Since I have an idea of the size of BWI CL, how does the BC and YC lounge size and setup compare? I know it is smaller but would appreciate more details. How much smaller than BWI? We think BWI's setup is perfect. We like the spacing of the tables, the variety of seating, etc. We like clearing our own plates and leaving them on the table by the door.
We are strongly considering splitting our stay and trying WL CL the first two nights. This is to get direct access to MK via boat. I would like to find out - is the seating area outside the CL gates always accessible? I've read the WL rooms are smaller and so it will be nice to have another place nearby to read etc. even if the lounge itself is closed. Do the rooms on this floor open up to the seating? I can't quite understand the floor layout.
We are going 29 Feb to 4 March, trying to go before the spring break rush and the High Season.
Thanks for your input!
It's always fine to bring food/drink back to your room from any CL lounge. Just bring the dishes back to the lounge at some point.Last year we stayed BWI CL 3 times. I love the theming at BWI. It's funny that the Boardwalk Inn is doing the opposite. As of December 2011 their Innkeeper's Club Level lounge still had a table for all dirty plates and etc which the Cast Members would take into their kitchen so they can get cleaned, however they got rid of the garbage can that was in the lounge by the coffee machine. The reason is some guests complained about seeing a garbage can inside the lounge, even though it was a small one and not a huge one like in the Contemporary Atrium Club lounge. You know, I get the reasoning behind this decision, but I hate it.It just feels wrong to leave my dishes on the table. When we were at BWI, there was a table not really for that purpose, but the CMs said it was fine to put our dirty dishes there (they, of course, promptly took the dishes away). At GF SL, there was no place to move our dishes so I was forced to leave them. They were immediately taken away by CMs, but I just felt like such a lazy slob leaving them there. I wish they'd allow both -- have a small table off to the side for those who want to bus their own table but otherwise have the CMs clean up.
We love being able to bus our own table, too. Last summer, when we were at WL, I asked the CL manager why some of the trash cans were missing. He said that Disney execs. want the CL experience to be more service oriented and bussing tables for you is one of the things they wanted done more. As a result, many CLs have either reduced or removed the ability for the guest to bus their own table. At WL this works well because the CMs are always cleaning the tables and they are never left dirty for very long. However, some CLs don't clear the tables very quickly and they become unusable and and an eye-sore, IMHO.

I've probably mentioned this before - and probably even to youWe agree.
The hard-working CMs at CL facilities should not have to constantly clean up because the table or cart used for dirty dishes, glasses and utensils has been removed. It is far better to bring those appropriate tables and carts back, even though the genuine slob element will continue in their dirt-bag ways. [Alas, CL has never been a barrier to those who have no sense of style or behavior.] On our last stay at the RPC we handed our dishes and glasses back to the superb CMs. Leaving those items on a table is not our style.
Management has even curbed CMs from politely reminding the clueless that they should wear proper footwear when dining, and that their darling offspring shouldn't take bites of food and return them to the serving plates. And then, of course, are those that view the CL facilities (especially the GF's SL) as an extension of the pool.
It is so ironic that 7-11's policy of "no shirt, no service" is clearly stated and enforced. Imagine that: a convenience store with more sense and class than CL at WDW.
All the best.![]()
I've probably mentioned this before - and probably even to you, but it bears repeating. One reason we love the Old Faithful Club so much is that they are one of the last bastions of WDW CL civility. The CMs DO enforce the lounge rules, when they see infractions, and they do confront the guests in a polite, but firm manner. Twice I have seen younger guests enter the lounge with only socks on, and both times a CM told the offender that they must have footwear on in order to enter the lounge. I even thanked the CM one time for asking the guest to put footwear on. She said that it was important to the CMs that all guests have an enjoyable experience at WL and that the rules are there for a reason.
Also, I think the proximity of SL to the pool makes it very covenient to "stop on in" for a drink or snack in your wet suit, whereas at WL (and CR), it isn't as convenient to go to the lounge from the pool. Did you feel that RPC had fewer bathing-suited snackers than SL?
Oh no, don't get me started on dining decorum or lack thereofAh...the Old Faithful Club: a refuge of civility.
We have never stayed at that CL, but your description of CM-activity-versus-improper-deportment there is certainly an incentive to book a reservation.
Indeed, the proximity to the pool makes SL a dirt-bag oasis, especially in the warmer months.
Of course, behavior at restaurants is another topic. The non-enforcement of the dress code rules (which every CM on the dining reservation phone line repeats when you book an ADR) is sad, to say the least. Even at the better restaurants, men with hats, men wearing collar-less shirts, etc. is pervasive.
Fortunately, there is V&A.
Hmm. I remember a certain drill sergeant during basic training at Fort Dix who would be perfect at CL dining times.
