Concierge/Club Level Information - Part II (Sept 2009)

I may have one of the pickiest eaters ever. She pretty much eats white food. We are going to BWI CL on Sunday. I'll let you know how she does. My DS really enjoyed BWI CL in May but he's an adventurous eater.

I've never been to YC (or BC) CL.

For Poly getting a 1st floor room would be a request only.

That's what we did! They very nicely gave us a bottle in a cute paper bag, and we kept it in the fridge.

What is a character washcloth and how much do they cost...that would be cute to have in the room with the birthday balloons. Thanks.

I requested the small "magic" towels that are usually at my local Disney Store. My mom always brings them for the kids and has them waiting in the room. Since we are not beginning our stay with my parents in the same villa, I had to take care of it myself. The CL CM told me that they were available in one of the GF shops so shouldn't be a problem. I'm sorry that I don't know the cost. I don't think the CM would have known even if I would have asked her. I don't think they will be that expensive and I thought it would be tacky to ask the CL staff--LOL!

Where are you staying this time....I think we will be in WDW at the same time....we are at the GF. Oops...nevermind...I just read your signature...we will be at Sugarloaf for two days together!!! It's our first time at SL....last time we were upgraded to RPC and I hope Sugarloaf is just as nice!!!

LOVED Poly CL! A BIG shout out to Wes and Barbie--they called all over Orlando looking for a camera to replace the one that broke--it was waiting in our room when we got back from dinner. I think my DH is sold on CL now. The lounge was nice, the food was ok, but the service was really what we enjoyed.

For those who have recently stayed Poly CL -- is the little bottle of blue solar care gel still provided with the other toiletries?

It was provided last year and I post here as I don't know if it is placed in all rooms or just in CL. It is great stuff.

I'm packing for our Tuesday trip and need to toss in some aloe if the gel isn't in the room this year.

Solar gel was in the room in late June. I doubt it has changed since then. One more thing to cross off the list!

We stayed at the CR Atrium Club July 1-6. We really loved it! The Cast Members were very attentive and friendly. The lounge has a wonderful view of MK, and especially the fireworks!! One thing we really enjoyed was the variety at breakfast - each day the pastries were a little different, chocolate croissants - cinnamon rolls - apple turnovers.......although the rest was standard (fruit, cereal, etc) it was nice to have this little change. Last year at the Poly club level we got tired of the same thing every morning.

We had a Bay Lake view that was awesome too. I actually enjoyed that view more than the MK view we had a few years ago. Having the club level lounge you get the best of both worlds.

The evening appetizers were also very good. They did tend to run out of certain things, but they were replaced with an alternate appetizer.

I highly recommend trying CR Atrium Club! I am happy to answer any questions.

Thanks! The CR Club level does not seem to have as big of a following as some of the other resorts. I really found it to be a wonderful experience.

If you look on the Contemporary FAQ thread you will see that the Atrium Club gets mentioned there more often then on here, so it does have a bigger following then you would think.

Yes--it was there last week--came in handy, too.

I think the Polynesian has such a boring breakfast. It would be nice if there was a bit more color and everything wasn't so yellow. It all looks like it came from Costco. I haven't been there in 6 years and will find out if things have changed here in a couple of week! It drives me nuts, but my family is fine eating the same cereal everyday. I love the variety at AKL and SL. BWI was a step above the Polynesian. It's nice to hear that the CR also has some variety when it comes to food while staying CL.
There are many other positives at the Polynesian that I am able to overlook my little pet peeve

I, one month prior to my trip contacted IPO with a possible room request for my upcoming stay, and they promptly sent a lovely response. My question-- Are they suppose to contact you again for any reason or should they have contacted me earlier being that I've been booked for several months now? I booked all my own ressies and prefer it that way, but I was just curious. I'm looking very forward to my first Poly CL experience..



P.S. I did book directly through Disney and they have all my correct info, I have also made no changes to my Resort Reservation.

The yummy pineapple bread available every morning five or so years ago is gone . I'd be happy if they would just bring that back.
Actually, I am happy staying there regardless, but I would be glad for morning pineapple bread.

Poly CL is one of the best...LOVE the Hawaii building! Make sure you enjoy THE window view in the lounge, morning and evening.

Had a lovely visit to the Boardwalk recently and used the Concierge club level. Lovely service from Susan from NJ and from Jamie from Hope College at the main floor concierge desk. Very pleasant and knowledgeable about everything we needed to know! Kudos also to Charlotte at the front desk and RJ. You guys all made our trip a great experience!
