Anyone know if there will be only two robes, or four, in the CL rooms at the Poly? Do we just call Mousekeeping if we need 2 more?

Also, how much does it cost to rent a DVD? Or are they just provided for guests?

Thank you all! 3 more sleeps!
:woohoo:

I thought I remembered reading something about extra toiletries...am I right? Do they give you stuff at CL you don't get in a regular room?
There are 2 bars of soap-hand & bath, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand cream, solar relief gel and 1 toothbrush with small paste.

Only 2 robes. Don't know if you can get more.

At Poly they have free DVD's you can borrow.

I asked at AKL about DVD's and they said I could go rent them for $5 at gift shop (free to DVC members). I jokingly said we would have to go do homework instead so CM said he'd credit our room $20 so I could go rent a few movies.

DVDs are available at no charge. The number of robes may vary, but they usually correspond to the number of adults per room. More robes can be requested from mousekeeping.

Some CLs provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, shower caps, and solar relief gel. (Your toiletries may vary!)

Thanks for the information about the robes and the DVDs. With two teenagers (Ds 16 and Dd 13) in the room with Dh and me, I thought we could really use 4 robes. And I'm glad to hear about the DVDs. I'm listening/watching Pirates of the Caribbean while I pack. pirate: I'm sure there will be some down time when it would be fun to watch an old favorite together. Hope so!

When we stayed at AKL CL last year you had to go to the gift shop to get movies but they were free to those staying CL (not just DVC). Everywhere else we have stayed you just get them from the CM's in the CL lounge (much more convenient).

I wonder if AKL has started charging CL guests for this. If so, I will be disappointed. :confused3

Anyone know how much it is and how long it will take to get clothes pressed? Ill be staying Poly CL..
TIA

Thanks! I appreciate the reply. If there's any other info. you want to share, I'd love to hear about what food is offered currently (esp. things kids might like).

Several pages back (187, post 434) I posted many photos from the BC CL July 10-17, 2010. I believe the YC CL has essentially the same offerings. Did not see Sambuca, but as you mentioned, it couldn't hurt to mention that you enjoy this.

I think there are also some lounge photos in the Beach/Yacht Club photo thread, posted by ofthecccccs, which include photos of the soda/beer cooler. My pictures of this did not come out well.

Do you know if they have kid-sized robes available on request? DH & I (the actual adults in the room) are not likely to care about, want or need a robe, but my 7 YO LOVES being "pampered" and would love wearing his own. I can (of course) let him use one of the ones already provided, but he'll be swimming in it.

In my CL experiences both on and off WDW property, I've never been given a child-sized robe, but it wouldn't hurt to ask upon check-in. If you roll-up the sleeves and tie it tightly, they're not too bad, but certainly could be a tripping hazard.

Eons ago, when our kids were little, GF had kid sized robes. That is no longer the case. We had them one year and never again at any of the resorts.

This was in January 2010. I didn't ask about DVD's in May 2009.

I posted this on the YC/BC thread, but as of now it has yet be answered. Hopefully someone here can help me :flower3:

DS really wants to stay at YC or BC for his birthday in June since he is dying to try the SAB slide. I am not sure which would be a better fit for us. We would book the GV CL room. We like the decor in both rooms (but prefer the BC lobby to the YC) I know that the lounge offerings are the same, but what about the size? Which is bigger and/or seems less crowded (especially in the AM)

For those of you who have stayed at both, which do you prefer and why?

Thanks!

It varies from resort to resort. Some will replenish stuff daily. On a recent CR stay, 14th floor, they did not. Indeed, even our TOILET PAPER was NOT stocked one day! You do get turn down service, to - so your towels are restocked (as needed) and trash are emptied twice a day, unless you decline turndown.

No champagne at BWI.

I have to say, our recent stay at CR was a bit disappointing. There was an array of mechanical problems. Hopefully, they have fixed some of the problems already. Usually WDW is amazing about fixing problems, but not this time. Nothing was fixed over four days. It was just not the kind of service you expect at a resort in that price range.

I've only stayed at BC of the BC/YC question. My sister recently stayed at YC (not CL) and said that the YC was decidedly more quiet. That would make sense, the YC is slightly further from Epcot. Although YC is perhaps slightly closer to HS, when we stayed at BC in the summer heat, we often took the boat.

We really liked the BC CL. The lounge is not huge, and has no view - unlike some of the other resorts. It's size though made it more intimate, and our room was close. When the lounge was at all crowded, we just took our food back to the room.

At the GF Sugar Loaf they seemed to replace the toiletries every day for us! It was so hot I was taking 3 showers a day- and went through the H2o products like crazy! which btw I LOVED!!! I had to buy some body butter before we left- smells SOOOO good!!!! Even DH loved the foot lotion!!!

MagicPrincess, could you tell me what toiletries are provide at GF/Sugar Loaf. We have stayed @ GF in the past, but never CL.

Also any recent info on Sugar Loaf food offerings, such as cereals, types of beer and cordials, desserts, etc. would be great!

Thanks, we have several weeks before we leave and this helps pass time.

The toiletries included the H20 line, sea salt and I think sea marine...they smelled SOOOO good! they had shampoo, conditioner, foot lotion, and body butter. Also large bars of soap, and 2 other soaps...very nice! they replenished those daily for us! :)

The offerings in the morning were pretty much the same each day, fresh fruit, cereal, cream cheeses, bagels, breads, lunch meat and cheese, assorted baked goods such as sticky buns (YUM) croissants, blueberry muffins, some kind of strawberry turnover, cheese danish, etc...coffee, juices, milk, water

We missed most of the afternoon offerings, but one day we noticed they had veggies and dips, hummus, crackers, cookies, soda, and tea, lemonade, water...

The afternoon tea was a bit of a challenge. Every day we would get there too late for the scones- they were pretty popular! but when we did score a couple- YUM! they also offered cookies, pastries, tea coffee, etc...

Evening appetizers varied each day, and included some puff pastry cheese roll things, brie and raspberry wrapped in puff pastry (yum), chicken skewers, sushi, shrimp on corncakes, and a host of others I cannot remember! but they were good! Also, dips and veggies and crackers.

They had wine (nice selection) champagne, and beer which included Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Yuengling, Heineken.

At night there were more cookies and pastries and cordials which included Kahlua, and honestly I can't remember what else! lol...I just added a splash of kahlua to my coffee one night.

It was nice, but it often got very crowded in the lounge around 5, and there was usually a line of people waiting to get food, so that kind of deterred us from eating in there in the evenings. We'd run in, grab a few drinks and take them back to the room to drink while we were getting ready.

It was really nice, though! We loved it! all the CM's were SO nice!

Thanks for the quick response........I'm getting excited !!!

Glad that you enjoyed your stay. Can't wait to be there.
