We are going to be doing a vacation May of next year for a very big celebration for dh and me and I was wondering which one was the best. We are locals, with annual passes, so the planning portion of the concierge is not all that important (and don't really do very many ADRs).

Here are my thoughts.
Poly, because as I have read, the lounge is great and the food is awesome but there is nothing to do at night. DH and I like to go out at night.

BCV...good food, small lounge with the Boardwalk there, but I have heard that the lounge gets very packed, and recently there has been only pretzels and the such out.
BVI, good food, better lounge, but it is a good little walk from Epcot but close to Boardwalk.
Yacht...good food, good lounge, but not all reviews were that great.

So we like to go out, hang out and the such. Is there anything to do close to, or in short walking or monorail distance at night at Poly.

Second ?....dh cannot see the value in staying at concierge level, but for our first trip WITHOUT the kiddos (we take them more times than I could even count), I want to do this vacation up. Typically we stay in a 1 bdrm on property but now with just us, we do not need anything that big. Help me convince him to stay concierge.

Out of your list of resorts I've only stayed concierge at the Polynesian. And, at the Polynesian I've ONLY stayed concierge. lol

Show him the pictures on my web site! The link is below; just click on the Disney World Vacations link and then find my Polynesian trips :)

And do a search for Tikiman's web site, he has an extremely extensive web site about the Polynesian resort. :sunny:

Oh, to answer your question: At night at the Polynesian I love to swim in the volcano pool while watching the fireworks over the castle at the same time. You almost feel as if the resort is an extension of the Magic Kingdom itself. At least, that's how *I* feel when I'm at the Polynesian; it's as if we never left the real, classic "Disney". :thumbsup2

Even though my parents and I have not stayed yet in Concierge at the Polynesian or have never stayed at the Beach Club Concierge and Boardwalk Concierge, last month we went to visit the Hawaii Longhouse at the Polynesian since that is the Concierge buidling is and because we are staying there this December in a Garden View room. Anyway from what I could see the lounge up on the 2nd floor looks amazing and looking at what you said, having a good lounge sounds important to you. Here is also a list of the foods they offer everyday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

I've stayed at them all and the Poly or BWI concierge levels beat the YC or BC concierge levels hands down......

Out of your choices I have only stayed BC Concierge, I didn't like that the lounge 'closed' between food offerings - they actually close the doors and ask stragglers to leave. Other concierges I have stayed at AKL & WL, you can sit and relax anytime.

The location of BC was fabulous though, literally a 4 minute walk to the World Showcase entrance, it was so convenient. Also the Boardwalk directly across from you, boat to MGM, the wonderful pool and so many great dining choices withing moments from your room.

My wife and I love the Poly Concierge lounge...she likes to sit there, relax have a drink and watch the fireworks - awesome view from the lounge. We also enjoy the Tambu lounge in the GCH. We've met some great folks there. The food is great.... Poly has my vote.

Out of the resorts you mentioned as possibilities, I have stayed at Yacht Club concierge. I loved the hotel and the concierge staff was the best out of any of the Disney resorts I have stayed at. However, the lounge and food are not worth the extra money in my opinion, especially if you are not going to avail yourself of the concierge services. The trip before we did Yacht Club was at Grand Floridian and we were expecting something similar but it wasn't even close. The lounge was small and a good portion of it was taken up by the kid's TV area. The food was pretty much the same, day in and day out. I am not a picky eater but there wasn't much to tempt me. I remember eating a lot of celery and carrot sticks!!!
