They all have dial up available through a data port on the phone(.35 per local call). They are in the process of installing high speed connections (~$9.95 per day).
Just got back from VWL last week. They put a note under our door saying that they would be installing equipment relating to internet access in our rooms in the next few days. We came back one day and the jack in the living room where the phone is plugged in had a device that looked like a portable CD player was mounted on the wall and plugged into the electrical outlet and the phone outlet as well. I don't know if it is wireless or not since the one thing I do not own was a laptop. I did see a tech in the hallway with a cart full of hardware going from room to room.
It is being done. I don't know if the VWL was a starting point or if all of the resorts are being done at the same time. I didn't check it out further since I don't have any reason to worry about the internet while I am on vacation.
When we were leaving BWV's in mid-November they were installing the high speed internet access points in the rooms on our floor. I expect that BWV must have it by now, but I do not know how much they will charge for DVC members. If it is $9.95 per day I'll stick with the $.35 per call dial-up.
The internet jacks had already been installed in our rooms at OKW last week, but they were not operable. LOL, we tried! $9.95 a day for members seems steep! We use a tollfree dial up, so doubt we could justify that cost.
The last three hotels I've stayed at charged $15 - $20 a day for high speed internet access! I think the $10 a day is pretty much in line with the industry, or maybe a tad lower.
We just got back from BWV Saturday and it looks like they were finishing up the installation. We were on the 5th (5004) floor and saw them working all week (our room was connected on the 27th if I remember correctly).
The front desk indicated that the service would be activated February 9th and it will cost $9.95 for 24 hours and $3.95 for 1 hour.
BCV had them as of Halloween when we were there. We were able to use it then as part of a "free trial." Therefore, I don't know what the final cost will be.
Was at BCV from 1/18 to 1/30. Front desk said they didn't have high speed access available. Plugged into the port on the router that is attached to the wall and it works fine. I know some people were not billed for their usuage, but it appears those days are over. $9.95 a day. I had some work to do while I was there and it worked flawlessly!
We just returned from BWV yesterday and while the terminal was installed in our room for high speed, it was NOT operational and the fornt desk CMs we spoke to about it were NOT informed nor were they helpful in regard to obtaining info.
