"The restaurant was very pretty!"






"They brought us an amuse bouche, which was a Ginger Carrot Soup with shrimp."










"We got calamari for an appetizer, which was delicious and not greasy at all."




Crispy Sesame and Togarashi-scented Calamari with Spiced Green Papaya, Wakame, and Vegetable Julienne, with Asian-inspired Dipping Sauce





"We also had the Vegetarian Sushi Roll and we loved it. It was great sushi!"




Vegetarian Sushi Roll - Silken Tofu, Avocado, Heirloom radish, young carrot roll, cucumber-seaweed salad and piquant mango-sweet yellow pepper "ketchup"




"Mom had the Surf and Surf, which was prawns and catfish. She thought the dish was very tasty and would definitely order it again."








"I ordered the signature steak. It was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful."

Our First Update of the Day was sent to us this morning from Jill (jedijill).


She said, "Monday started off with the Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom."





"After avoiding the hungry hungry hippos and a beat up wooden bridge over a pit of crocodiles, our hearty Trekkers were treated to a snack at the boma on the savanna."







"This can had yogurt with granola, fresh fruit, and brie and dried apricots."







"And this tin included prosciutto, air dried beef, salmon roullade, and fig cakes. I traded my salmon for extra brie. We washed it down with Frunch (same as Boma). It was delicious and we enjoyed a view of the savanna."







"Next up was a special Dis meet in DTD and a Bailey's shake from the bar next to Cookes of Dublin. It was sweet and tasted just like Bailey's ice cream. Yum!"

She said, "Sorry for the poor pictures..I was trying not to use flash."






"The amuse bouche was a gruyere cheese puff. It was delicious but would have been better warm."







"I was given several choices of bread and I chose a tomato and basil roll and a bacon and mushroom roll. The tomato roll was light and tasty. I never did try the bacon and mushroom roll."






"I had the Serrano ham and white asparagus salad. It was good but could have used some acid on the plate to balance the flavors. The Serrano ham was tasty though!"





"Somehow I missed pictures of my entree...it was the filet and a bowl of mashed potato puree. The steak was cooked fantastically and the mashed potatoes were to die for!"





And for dessert...










"I was going to go with something chocolate for dessert but my waiter talked me into trying the Baba au Rhum. It was a cake that was dried then soaked for 2 days in rum with pineapples and bananas. It was good but I was missing my chocolate."

"We loved the couscous salad - but were surprised when it was cold. The lamb and chicken were good, but I think the winner was the couscous. The wine was fine- but we spent most of our F&G visits at the L'Orangerie booth for that Rose slushie on this trip! I was with anewmac on this trip (until the other women joined us) - WOW did we have a blast together!!"

"We stopped at Tutto Gusto and each ordered a wine flight- both white wine, one from the Veneto, one from Tuscany. I saved the little menus that came with them, but it rained SOOOO badly that night, everything got drenched- and the menus erased!"

"The Wave appetizer for two - Lump crab-Florida Rock shrimp cakes and sustainable fish tacos. I liked the shrimp cakes, but the fish tacos were not that great - all I really tasted was the chipotle in them. I did really like the avocado gelato served with them though."










"Drea had the pasta...




Whole grain Penne pasta - With Florida white shrimp, cedar key clams, and roasted fennel tomato broth - $26.99

"Which also tasted like a ton of spice (and we like spicy food, but that was kind of all you could taste)."





"For dessert, I had...




No Sugar Added Desserts - Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse with Raspberry, Fall Spice Cake with Apple-cranberry compote, or Vanilla Bean Créme Brulée

"I really liked them - I was skipping a regular dessert because sugar makes me crash, and I didn't want to fade out!"






"Drea had the Creamy Indulgence - Butterscotch creme brulee with espresso macaroon, New York cheesecake with apple-cranberry compote, olive oil-infused chocolate truffle mousse with salted caramel sauce. All good!"








"The neighboring table was celebrating their 40th anniversary. They were given champagne, but don't drink, so they gave them to us! So...happy we've known each other for 6 hours, anewmac!"

Hello from a long time lurker! Is it too early to sign up for December? We are at universal on the 6th, on the fantasy from 7th-14th and at WDW from 14th to 21st on the DxDP! Have decided this would be a better option to share than through my own dining report since we are travelling around the US for a further 5 weeks after WDW and may not have time when we get back!

"That night after the Wave, we headed over to MK to see my town's High School band march on Main St. When we got off the monorail, there was a full double rainbow over MK- it was REALLY cool!!"












"Anyway, once back to OKW, we stopped in at the Gurgling Suitcase to try a drink I had been hearing about - the Turtle Krawl, a mix of rums, pineapple, orange and key lime juice with a splash of grenadine. That cocktail is worth the trip!"










"How do you like our dreads? There was a LOT of rain that day!"






"In the morning, I headed over to the Beach Club to meet a new little mousketeer (our CM friend, Mark & His wife brought the baby over)."

"So I was able to grab a yogurt parfait for breakfast from the Marketplace. Still has the same great granola it used to, but now it's soggy because of being pre-made. I really miss the custom yogurt parfaits at the BC."

"We split both hot dogs in half and shared. O. M. G.!!! The hot dog with the mac 'n cheese is TDF!!!!! On my must do list from now on! I think it is actually my favorite dining experience of this trip, how crazy is that????"







"We also shared the cupcake, which did have a nice lemon filling but was unfortunately not our fave due to the meringue frosting which was super duper sweet."

"Everything was delicious! The beef tenderloin was much better than I expected. Myself, DMom, and DMIL all had that."







"DH had the Cod, which he liked, but he didn't care for the sides. I think it was something tomato-y."








"The girls had chicken nuggets, cheese and grapes, and ice cream for dessert. The ice cream plates they got were so cute!!!"

"It wasn't awful but it needed to be hotter. The pastry was nice though. Unfortunately the jam, which tasted nice, totally overpowered the dish."
