Coming from the Great White North in August WE'RE BACK.2nd DAY PTs1&2POSTED PAGE 23

GREAT UPDATE!!!!!

..our ressie for Dec got mixed up and we are having to stay one night at YC before moving to WL (darn right?!) but anways, random question but what time were you outside when you were taking pictures of the pirate slide?? Someone had told me the the slides close at 8 so I was just curious!!

YS looks AMAZING!! we have that as our second choice for our trip...Artist Pointe first bc we've always wanted to eat there and by that time we'll be at WL and without a car so we figured why not but YS is def. number 2!!

See, that's why Hypermommy and I get along so well....sarcasm and confrontation, it's our specialities.....:lmao: You are gonna LOVE the "bite in the butt" hopefully Peg will get moving on this TR so we at least get to the day Jasmine and I arrive so I can put my 2 cents worth in:rotfl2:

I'm so glad you and Geodoc had such a wonderful dinner together :thumbsup2 That resort looks so fabulous!! Great pictures, as always :goodvibes Why couldn't you and Queen have gone to WDW while we were there?! I have a feeling we'd make a spectacle of ourselves if that happened though :lmao:

Can't wait for the next installment - great stuff, Peg!!

Hey, there is always future trips to make spectacles of ourselves:lmao:I'm up for it anytime.....We could start planning anytime now.....:rotfl:

Jasmine is trying her hardest to talk me into a graduation trip next summer. She said she will pay for her half of everything and her entire flight....maybe I can make this work. Only thing is Peg and Geodoc have spoiled her and made her into a resort snob....if we go I told her value all the way....mama's broke:laughing:

I love your TR so far! Great pictures to describe all your activities. It sounds like you are off to a fun start. Nice dinner at the Yachtsman!

See, that's why Hypermommy and I get along so well....sarcasm and confrontation, it's our specialities....

Now, girlfriend, you know I love you.... but the first thought that comes to mind is maybe growing up with you has something to do with Peg's distaste for confrontation.

/me ducking and running

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Just tell her value means more money for the parks and such! But can she break herself away from that boyfriend. How'd that go? I'm sure she missed him terribly (I remember what it was like to be that age).

Ok, I'm gonna give ya that one cause I think you may be on to something....

She said if we go next year she wants Thomas to come with us...apparently
3 weeks was too long....even though they texted every night. He had quite the surprises waiting for her when we got home...but you"ll have to wait for those

With the "quite the surprise" it sounds like he might be worth keeping... if she wasn't so dadgummed young! Ahhh, but I remember those days. Every boyfriend I had I thought was "the one". Thank goodness God kept me unentangled until I met King Charming!

:yay::yay:Hello new friends! I'm sorry to be arriving late. What beautiful photos you have taken.

I'm glad your girls enjoyed Mary Poppins at the GF. I was a little disappointed at her lack of interaction but was very impressed by Alice. She was fabulous!

The lobster eggs benedict was one of my favs that meal as well. The taste was very different from my usual eggs benedict. Yum!

Nice to see that purplepeg and Geodoc enjoyed a quiet "big people" dinner. We have never visited Beach or Yacht Clubs. I might have to visit next trip.

Until the next installment:thumbsup2

Isn't that the truth...he is quite an amazing young man, we love him to death!!

Hello to you too!!;)

As soon as Peg gets moving on her last day I can start writing, but since we're still at the part where Jas and I are still in Winnipeg it's kinda hard!! :rotfl2:

Seriously....lobster eggs benedict....I'm booking there next time too!!!

As soon as Peg gets moving on her last day I can start writing, but since we're still at the part where Jas and I are still in Winnipeg it's kinda hard!! :rotfl2:

So start writing about what you were doing in Winnipeg. Maybe it'll spur Peg to get off her butt and get caught up! :rotfl2:

I've waited long enough!!! Since Peg and Geodoc have been to the Yachtsman Steakhouse on the Sunday evening I figure I can post Sunday evening and our travel day:cool1::banana:

I of course couldn't sleep so was up and about pretty early Sunday morning. Jasmine had received a text from my girlfriends daughter asking what time we were leaving on Monday to go to Orlando. Stacey had spent the summer in Winnipeg working and was now going back home to start her last year of university at Florida Gulf Coast. She is my girlfriend Denice's daughter and Denice's hubby works for Team Disney!! Turns out she brought most of her wardrobe to Winnipeg and then bought another wardrobe while she was here and was clearly overweight in her luggage allotment:rotfl2: Not a problem though, we were allowed 2 suitcases of 50 pounds each and only planned on taking 3 so Stacey came over around 2 with 2 laundry baskets full of cloths and shoes:confused3 I figured though, if I did alot of shopping (like I wouldn't) I now had an empty suitcase to fill:rolleyes1

Right before Stac got to the house, my BFF who was supposed to be joining us on our trip, called to see if I needed any last minute help. I was pretty organized and was trying to space out my day so I wasn't sitting with nothing to do...we all know how time drags when that happens:rolleyes: Brenda came over and we did absolutely nothing but sit and visit....she needed some time away from home and to just be able to talk...her mother's death hit her very hard. She stayed until dinner time and headed home and at this point I realized how different our last 9 days would be now that they weren't joining us. It made me a little sad:sad1:

Thomas picked Jasmine up from work for me so I didn't have to run out and while he was away my friend Krysta and her hubby stopped in quickly to wish us a fabulous trip...I have great friends:hug: We decided to have kraft dinner for supper as it would finish off the milk and we would have no leftovers. The cupboards were very bare:banana:

Jasmine was very tired and by 1030pm her and Thomas were both sleeping. I looked at them both around 1230 and thought well I might as well have my shower first so off I went. I woke Jasmine up around 130am and she really didn't want to get up off the couch, but a quick reminder that today was the day, she sprang up;) We let Thomas sleep until 315am figuring by the time we put all the suitcases into the van we would be on the road by 345am, which we were.

007.jpg

suitcases by the door ready to be loaded into Thomas' van
008-1.jpg

Jasmine and Thomas getting in their last snuggles before heading out to the airport
009-1.jpg

Every year, I take a picture of the limo...this year our limo was Thomas' van
010.jpg

I am a little OCD on the way to the airport and at the airport, I check my bags for passports and tickets etc about 50 times....I may be doing that here
011.jpg

Clearly I'm satisfied that I have everything because I look like I'm about to enjoy my coffee and bagel.....or at least I'm doing a good impression of that
012-1.jpg

our boarding passes and my beloved Tim Horton's coffee
013-1.jpg

On the plane, we decided I would have the window seat from Winnipeg to Toronto and Jasmine would have it from Toronto to Orlando
015.jpg

We were all boarded and ready to take off 15 minutes before our scheduled time so the pilot came out to chat about the weather on the way to Toronto...looked like we were in for a smooth flight:cloud9:
016-1.jpg

Jasmine doing what she does before every flight....reading the safety flyer.:scared1:
017-2.jpg

I tried to take a picture of the sign that says Welcome to Winnipeg, but between the condensation on the window and the fact that the sun was just coming up, it didn't turn out too well
019.jpg

Lift off from Winnipeg

We ended up arriving in Toronto 15 minutes ahead of schedule which was perfect, I didn't feel the need to rush off the plane only to wait at the luggage carousel to get our stuff to clear customs. The customs line was relatively short compared to how I've seen it on past trips so felt really good about how things were moving. Made it through customs no problem, as a matter of fact, had one of the nicest custom's agents ever. She was asking us if we had ever been before and that Jasmine didn't look anything like her photo on her passport....oh to be a girl and change your hair every two weeks.

Got our luggage back on the connecting baggage thingy and proceeded to our next gate. Just as we got there they were calling for pre-boarding so we sat and relaxed for a few minutes, but as soon as they called for general boarding Jasmine was up and ready to get in line. I looked at her and said, why are we going to stand there when the line is so long...she proceeded to tell me we would be sitting on a plane for over 2 hours so standing would do me good....she had a point:rolleyes1

I am going to post this, get dinner started, then I will post some more pics....enjoy!!

Woot!!! Queen has started! Now we can really know what's going on. Not that you fib or anything, Peg, but I know how you younger siblings can twist things! :rotfl2:

This leg of our journey Jasmine had the coveted window seat....with the window seat comes the incredible responsibility of picture taking. I hand over the camera and tell her to take some photos of the plane.

024-1.jpg

Well apparently my little darling didn't want to look like a dork, her word, not mine, so she simply raised the camera above her head and snapped a few shots. I'm sure this poor woman was wondering what she was doing.:confused3
028-1.jpg

Everyone sit back and enjoy this photo as it's the last one my little darling took on this leg of the journey:eek: Yup, that's right, it's take off from Toronto, but there is no half way pictures, no landing pictures, nothing:eek:!!
Clearly, I can't sleep on the aircraft and leave my daughter in charge. When we were landing I said where's the camera, she pointed out there would be no pictures being taken as she was too busy hanging on....it wasn't even a bad landing:rotfl: Oh well, nothing I can do about it now
029.jpg

Arrival into the terminal in Orlando
031-3.jpg

Jasmine on the mini monorail...you truly know you've arrived when you board this little puppy
032-2.jpg

Outside the Disney Store but no time to shop, Peg is waiting at the resort for us
033-3.jpg

Coming down the escalator on our way to Magical Express
034.jpg

Meeting our very first CM of this trip, he was an absolute doll!
035.jpg

There was only us and one other family on our bus to SSR so we were on the road pretty quickly. Jasmine took this pic of the control tower and is very proud of it...she apparently doesn't mind taking pictures from the bus:rolleyes1
036-1.jpg

We have never stayed at SSR before so this was a whole new route into the World for us...it was very close to DTD...nothing like the first glimpse of that sign though:cloud9:
037.jpg

Jasmine was sitting by the window but she was getting a glare so I tried from my seat and it turned out a little better
038.jpg

Entering Saratoga Springs Resort. We were so happy, we couldn't wait to see Peg, Geodoc and the girls and were so excited about our new accomodations
039.jpg

I don't think I smiled more than when I saw that Welcome Home sign....warms my heart just thinking about it

When we pulled up Peg and Mini Montana were waiting for us. I didn't have my camera out, but I know Peg has pictures of our arrival on ME.

040.jpg

Not sure which building this was, I was just snapping pictures

041.jpg

Jasmine was starving when we arrived so her and I headed to Artist's Point. Jasmine doesn't eat before or during a flight so she was definitely ready to eat. If memory serves me, I believe she had some sort of flatbread that she didn't really enjoy.

042.jpg

On our way to our room I wanted a shot of the girls by this statue
043.jpg

I'm not sure what this building is, I was just snapping pictures
044.jpg

Jasmine, Geodoc and Mini Montana walking to our room

Apparently the children want to eat....I'll be back after dinnerpopcorn::

Ok, the kids are fed and out the door....now I can get down to business...where was I...oh yeah walking to the resort.
045-1.jpg

Outside our villa, I wanted a picture before we even walked in. Peg had told me the night before on the phone that I wasn't going to believe how beautiful this place was and she was right, it was stunning
046-1.jpg

Mine and Jasmine's room for the first 5 days of our vacation, queen beds at Disneyworld, I've never had a queen bed at Disneyworld....it was great
047.jpg

As you can see we got some business out of the way as soon as we arrived...we bought our mugs
049-1.jpg

Double sinks, how I grew to love these...within 3.2 seconds of arrival. Now I wish my bathroom at home was big enough to fit a double sink.

050-1.jpg

Mini Montana and Snow White in the living room just before everyone settled down for an afternoon nap
054.jpg

We decided to lie down for a couple of hours before our dinner at Raglan Road at 630pm. Even though I slept on the plane, I was still exhausted. Mini Montana, Snow White and Jasmine enjoying the balcony right after our naps. Look at MM, doesn't she look adorable, I think she woke up, walked out onto the balcony and right on Jasmine's knee....you'll notice she missed her cousin, she's stuck to her like glue.

055.jpg

On the boat from SSR to DTD, once again MM was attached to Jasmine
056.jpg

View of the West Side from the boat
057.jpg

Bongo's Restaurant
058-1.jpg

Characters In Flight balloon...we never did ride this, the one time we seemed to have time, the weather wasn't co-operating.
059.jpg

Jasmine and Mini Montana on the way from the boat to Raglan Road...like I said she was stuck to her like glue.
060.jpg

Everyone outside Raglan Road before we went in for dinner. We actually had a little time before dinner so we went into the store to look around, but surprisingly, I bought nothing.
061.jpg

All of us at dinner, our waiter John who was fabulous, took this shot for us. We were never without anything, he took very good care of us, a great way to start our vacation...we all agreed on this
062-1.jpg

It's Not Bleedin Chowder...this was my dinner and I loved it, I also loved the bread that came before it and as I was shoving it down my throat I thought, gosh I hope I'm not eating too much bread to enjoy the rest of my dinner.....
063-1.jpg

Jasmine had the salmon, she said it was ok, not a favorite, but ok
065.jpg

Jasmine didn't want dessert, she said she was too full, whatever, you're ordering something so we can all try it....so this is what she ordered. Hey, the dining plan was bought and paid for...bring on the food
067-1.jpg

I had the bread pudding I had read so much about and was scared I would be disappointed after all the hype...well I shouldn't have worried, it was pure heaven, I would have it again in a heartbeat....however, that bread from before dinner came back to haunt me, yup, I couldn't finish my dessert, which for those of you who know me well, this is just wrong.
068.jpg

Jasmine took this shot from the dock while we were waiting for the boat to go "home" doesn't that sound wonderful. I think I might have looked like a loon on that dock....grinning from ear to ear for no apparent reason.
069-1.jpg

Geodoc, MM, Jasmine and I all headed back to SSR but Peg and SW took a detour to Goofy's Candy Co. My girlfriend Denice had sent me a text while we were at dinner to let me know she was ready to come and pick up Stacey's clothes whenever we were back at the resort. I quickly replied that we were on our way back and she could come on over. I was thrilled when we walked in and all of our luggage was there....everytime we take ME, I always worry, not sure why, but I do.

She arrived not long after Peg and SW returned so we all had a short visit and made some arrangements for an upcoming shopping trip to the Florida Mall (Jasmine can't be in the USA and not hit Hollister, A & F, and Forever 21) so plans made, suitcase in hand she was off. I finished unpacking everything and literally fell into bed, pure exhaustion, but sheer happiness.

Next update.....DHS!!!!!

Oh we definitely would have a great time:banana:Maybe next trip! Next installment coming soon.

I love your TR so far! Great pictures to describe all your activities. It sounds like you are off to a fun start. Nice dinner at the Yachtsman!

thanks so much! I enjoy seeing other people's pictures so I'm glad you are enjoying ours!

Now, girlfriend, you know I love you.... but the first thought that comes to mind is maybe growing up with you has something to do with Peg's distaste for confrontation.

/me ducking and running

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I have two words for you..."YA THINK!?"

With the "quite the surprise" it sounds like he might be worth keeping... if she wasn't so dadgummed young! Ahhh, but I remember those days. Every boyfriend I had I thought was "the one". Thank goodness God kept me unentangled until I met King Charming!

I feel the same way, glad I was free when Geodoc came along!

:yay::yay:Hello new friends! I'm sorry to be arriving late. What beautiful photos you have taken.

I'm glad your girls enjoyed Mary Poppins at the GF. I was a little disappointed at her lack of interaction but was very impressed by Alice. She was fabulous!

Welcome new friend! I find if the kids are really quiet some of the characters really don't know what to do so they are quiet too. That's why we enjoyed Pooh and the Mad Hatter. That eggs benedict was sooo good!

So start writing about what you were doing in Winnipeg. Maybe it'll spur Peg to get off her butt and get caught up! :rotfl2:

Quit egging her on girl, don't you know how busy I am?!

Woot!!! Queen has started! Now we can really know what's going on. Not that you fib or anything, Peg, but I know how you younger siblings can twist things! :rotfl2:

OK, how many times do I have to tell you....even though I look MUCH younger, I am the OLDEST! I know it's hard to believe but I was having a wonderful life until my younger sister came along and made me a shell of my former self:lmao:

Just catching up after the long weekend at the cottage.

I love the excitment you feel on arrival day. You can see the sparkle in your eyes.

Haven't been to Raglan road but have wanted to go. It looks great.

Hope the girls all have a good first day back at school.

I imagine MM attached to Jasmine was a foreshadowing of Thomas being attached to Jasmine when you got home.

My plan is to update in the next day or two. Snow White starts school on Wed, I have to take Jasmine school supply shopping tomorrow(our last year:sad1:) Mini Montana had her 5th birthday while Queen and Jasmine were away. So that means she starts Kindergarten this year:sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1:
I am soo very sad about this, my baby! She told me today I have to get used to being on my own now that she and Snow White will be at school and Geodoc will be at work:rotfl2: Then later she told me I was the best mom ever and I said you're the best kid and her reply...."I know!" All Queen!

Jasmine passed her driver's test and now has her license:scared1:So Geodoc says to her "there's this line from a movie Jasmine, 'with great power comes great responsibility' so have fun but drive safe!" I asked her about it later and she says , "yeah I told Thomas he said some Star Wars thing" and Thomas said to her "it's not Star Wars it's Spiderman", her reply?..."yeah whatever!":rotfl2:
We have been trying to enjoy the last few days of summer holidays now that summer has actually arrived in Manitoba so forgive me for not being on the computer! I know Mini Montana will love school, she's so smart, just like her big sister. She's counting down the sleeps until she goes and I know I'll be okay, almost made it all the way home before I started crying when Snow White started school, but I feel really sad. Time goes by fast enough, but once they start school it goes at warp speed:scared1:My oldest turned 9 this year and now my baby is 5, where does the time go? Forgive my rambling, just trying to explain that as much as I love being on here, my babies are growing and I'm trying to squeeze the last little bits of family fun we can have in.

Queen, I loved your line about "Hey, the dining plan was bought and paid for...bring on the food"!!!! Definitely a woman after my own heart!!!!

OK, how many times do I have to tell you....even though I look MUCH younger, I am the OLDEST! I know it's hard to believe but I was having a wonderful life until my younger sister came along and made me a shell of my former self:lmao:

Okay, okay... guess the memory must be the first thing that goes, huh. Or maybe it's just your constant fibbing and sniping at Queen that makes me think you're younger. You just act sooooooo much like a younger sister. :rotfl2:

She told me today I have to get used to being on my own now that she and Snow White will be at school and Geodoc will be at work:rotfl2: Then later she told me I was the best mom ever and I said you're the best kid and her reply...."I know!" All Queen!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: That's my girl!!!!!!!! I just absolutely love her attitude! Especially the fact that she's telling you that you're going to have to get used to being on your own. How precious. So what are you going to do with all your free time now? I know you're not going to be doing a trip report... you'd give us all heart attacks if you actually proceeded in a timely fashion with your trip report. So what will you be doing with your time?

Jasmine passed her driver's test and now has her license:scared1:So Geodoc says to her "there's this line from a movie Jasmine, 'with great power comes great responsibility' so have fun but drive safe!"

Congrats to Jasmine!!!! :banana::banana:

Yeah, my youngest turns 14 this Friday so big brother was giving him advice to go ahead and get the book from the highway dept and start studying it. And that reminded me that it was time for "the speech". I told him that there are certain things that have to be done to get your license including taking a drugs class (Fla law). And I told him that he has to figure out what needs to be done, get it scheduled (check with us for our scheduling first) and find out how much it costs and everything. Then came "THE LINE"..... "If you're not mature enough to make this happen then you're surely not mature enough to get behind the wheel of a vehicle." Hey, it's worked so far... EM#1 is almost 16 and still hasn't gotten his act together (i.e., almost a year later and no learner's permit) so we don't have to pay insurance on him yet.

Forgive my rambling, just trying to explain that as much as I love being on here, my babies are growing and I'm trying to squeeze the last little bits of family fun we can have in.

Completely and totally understood. Now that I only get 1 day a week with my kids I'm fiercely guarding our time together. So (and I can't believe I'm saying this) you take your time and spend it with the babies. Don't worry about the trip report.

Until they go to school, that is. Then I expect you to make up for your lack of timeliness!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:
