Come to the Dark Side...We Have Cookies...(updates 4/3)

happy it was a good visit!

sorry about the button mix up, hope it didn't rattle him too much! that was a fun night on the carriage! as were all our times with you guys!

no we leave Friday the 6th, the ME will probably pick us up around 3pm for our flight... anything from 11/30 - 12/6 we can get together, 12/1 we are volunteering at GKTW until around one and then heading to DTD for lunch and shopping. haven't finished planning out our second week, other than 12/4 meeting up with KatMark in AK for a few hours!

The week before Thanksgiving is when my in-laws usually visit us, and they do not "do" the Disney parks typically. Dh only has off the weekend of Thanksgiving and the weekend of the 6th.

Monday the 2nd would be the only day dh has off besides then, but Jj will have theater and voice lessons that day as well.

how sweet Trevor and family sent the fun birthday gifts!

I love the cupcake cake!

okay we need to figure out sometime we can meet up! can't go all the way to FL and NOT see you guys!

okay, so what about either Sat 11/30 or Sun 12/1 we meet up at DTD and hang out and have dinner??? will your in-laws still be there then?

I won't know about my in-laws until right before Thanksgiving. They aren't really into planning. They just know that Thanksgiving is their holiday with us.

Target's a good store. Our Walmart and Target don't carry much Disney or Star Wars. But as I drive closer to WDW they begin to carry more and more.

My sister in law bought my niece and nephew their Disneyland souvenirs from Target. She found stuff in the parks but didn't want to spend the money. I don't blame her!!

How did I miss it was JJ's Birthday!!! UGH! That's what I get for not getting on for a few days!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JJ!!

Just thought I'd let you know since JJ got a cape but I did an event last night where we were raising money for Kiss the Toad. She got all the proceeds from the raffle we did and she got almost $500!!!! She's putting all that money towards making capes for the children at Children's Hospital of Boston!! I couldn't believe how well we did!!!

Glad you guys had a nice visit. Sorry your mom ended up in the ER and you lost you're dad!!

okay, we will do our best to work around our schedule to see you guys if you come up!

Trying to catch up yet again. Glad the parents had a nice visit.

And Happy Belated Birthday JJ!!!

I know the Mickyard is a hard ticket, what about the Dream Car? And where do I get dh the tickets?

What do you mean by the Mickyard being a hard ticket? I didn't think you had to have tickets for either car show, unless you wanted to enter it.

I hope JJ had a wonderful birthday.

Sorry to hear that your folks had some challenges while they visited.

And.. the parade in SS? How cool is that? And the kids get a cookie? :thumbsup2

JJ always has the greatest adventures in WDW. I think I need to check out Sunshine Seasons...never been there! Just running through for Soarin...:rotfl2:I promise when I come in September/October there is no commando touring plans. I want to enjoy the world like JJ does!

I am sorry about your parents, but sounds like things ended on a good note.

How did Grumpy do with the finals? How was the holidase (?spelling) sauce?

Hi! Sorry it has been so long since I have been here. Life has been a bit crazy here.:rolleyes2 :firefight Never noticed the firefighter before. Rather appropriate. JJ's cake is so cute and what a neat idea. I never thought about making a cake with the take away cupcakes. I need to remember this and try it when I have a house kitchen again.

I want to thank you so much for our coupons Kody and I had so much fun going to the grocery store with them. We don't see many coupons here. I don't get it. I need to find out Goofy's secret to how he finds them.

I'm not a fan of the food in Sunshine Seasons. The only thing I like is the Mongolian Beef. JJ gets a chicken leg, grapes and applesauce. I never know with dh. He likes the banana nut bread the best. It's not really a meal but he enjoys it. The parade and dancing was a fun stumble upon.

No commando will be a huge change. But you will be suprised at how different things are when you stop and smell the roses along the way. I'm hearing Mac Davis in my ear. Does that show my age?

Grumpy had finals last week. He didn't have to take his psychology final because he grade was high enough. He had to take all others. In the next few days he should find out his grades.

On the eggs benedict, he got a 100%. It was cooked to perfection, the presentation was perfect. Grumpy said that people who refused to eat anything all semester actually liked his hollandaise sauce.

The other day at home, he tried to recreate it for me. It was the best poached egg I ever had. The sauce was flavorful as it danced over my taste buds. He can make me eggs benedict anytime! I also love his caramel, cinnamon buns, and pizza. Oh and he made the best chicken noodle soup I ever had. I always thought my mom's was the best, but he even outdid hers. He handrolled the noodles here at home. Now he wants a pasta maker, lol. His noodles are delicicious and I don't usually like pasta.

He is going to add baking and pastry as a major. He didn't think he'd enjoy it, but he's found out that he loves it! I'm sure the instuctor had alot to do with his newfound love for baking. He is one of Disney's sous pastry chefs.

I hope JJ had a wonderful birthday.

Thanks, he had a wonderful b-day. The first time in 3 years that may parents were able to celebrate it with him.

Oh yea, the cookie was a big bonus. Well, little cookie, big taste.

Trying to catch up yet again. Glad the parents had a nice visit.

Thanks for the b-day wishes.

Ok, I'm on the same page as you. Tickets are optional. Someone is coming to look at his mustang on Monday. He's thinking of selling. He just doesn't have extra time to devote to it.

Which days are you staying? Can your son go too?

okay, we will do our best to work around our schedule to see you guys if you come up!

Possibly after work on a Wed or Sunday night could work too. JJ will get his theater schedule through December when it starts in September.

My sister in law bought my niece and nephew their Disneyland souvenirs from Target. She found stuff in the parks but didn't want to spend the money. I don't blame her!!

I don't blame her either.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! Does your son still like Vader? I know you said he loves his Darth Duck, but was wondering if he still likes Vader?

That's fantastic, $500! Was it a cape you raffled off? That's wonderful to be able to help so many children. Children's Hospital at Boston is one of the best hospitals in this country. Should be ever decide to go ahead with JJ's brain surgery, we would do it there.

JJ might be in the news. A news affiliate out of Tampa came to the theater and taped a segment that is suppose to air on Tuesday. Whether he is actually in it or not, this is so good to have a presence out in the community and make the theater known. His special needs theatre troupe operates solely on donations. I hope the community gets to see how beneficial the theatre group is to both the community at large and the troupe.

I haven't been here as much as I like either. I've missed you. Migraines are out of control the last week.

I'm sure life is more than crazy right now for you. By now you are more than ready for a kitchen. Did you hear anything about a rental house? Does it look like it will happen?

Dh has started couponing. I'm glad we could help a little. Do you still have the donation site set up? There are just so many things you all need. I caught a couple posts recently. How wonderful they found your mom's picture of your dad. Brought tears to my eyes, so I can only imagine the joy of finding the picture like that.

Congrats to Grumpy on his finals!!

That's awesome that he's adding on to what he wants to do!! Glad he's enjoying it!! Really wish I was more into cooking!! Getting pretty bored with all the normal stuff we make! Guess I need to just pull out a cookbook, find a recipe and do it!

Yes Jeremy does still love Darth Vader. He keeps telling me he wants another Star Wars birthday next year and want's Darth Vader and Darth Maul on it again!

Here's his cake from his birthday this year. Mind you the person who did it made it all freehand!!!!

Each consultant donated an item to the raffle. I sell Mary Kay so I put together a set of Thinking of You Body lotion, Pendant, and Perfume. My friend sells Juice Plus so she donated 1 months supply of Juice Plus. Stella and Dot donated a necklace, etc. Then when people bought raffle tickets they put it in a bag for the item they wanted. That's where we raised all the money for. I thought I had heard about Boston's Children Hospital before. Someone must have mentioned it.

I really hope that the news brings in some donations for you. It would be sad if the program had to die due to no money. do you guys have a site where donations can be made? I'm looking at getting the kids into different things but neither of them are interested in being on stage yet. Sarah wants to dance and Jeremy wants to play either Tball or soccer. Now to just register them.

Great cake!! JJ wanted a Star Wars Cake, but Publix didn't have Star Wars or Clone Wars. With my parents here we didn't know what we were doing for sure, and I only ordered the cake two days before. I think it's a great idea for Jeremy to have another Darth Vader/Darth Maul cake.

I hope the news is successful too! We have one performance dedicated to sponsors, family and special invitees. Hopefully many will have a heart for this program and do what they can to keep it going!

There isn't a specific site for donations, but there is a sponsor sheet that can be printed out from the theater's website.

I hope you can find a fun class for the kids. Dance and sports sounds like you will be going in two different directions. I did that until Grumpy got his driver's license, then he took himself to all his sport practices. We have a church near us that has non-competitive soccer and basketball. JJ played on those teams for a couple years...until there was too big of a difference between his skill levels and his peers.

It was amazing for her and the rest of us. I had a friend of my nephew who really liked my dad ask if he could have a copy of the picture to hang on his wall. They managed to recover things from a closed closet that had suitcases of pictures of my moms ancestors and forward. Another little one that I know you will appreciate. In the same place the picture of my dad was found my moms family bibles. She had them in ziploc bags so there was no damage to them at all.:goodvibes

congratulations to Grumpy! sounds like you all are eating well :goodvibes

like I said before we can work around meeting up with you all...both of our Wed nights look good and Sunday 12/1 will be free after our time at GKTW

I was way behind! Despite the few "bumps", it sounds like the visit with your parents was good. I know that it was good for the kids (and for you) to have them there.

I had no idea that there was a parade at Sunshine Seasons. That's probably because we aren't Sunshine Seasons fans.

It sounds as if Grumpy has found his calling. Ya'll are going to be eating all sorts of fantastic foods with him in your kitchen.:thumbsup2

JJ had his first real audition last night. We will find out Thursday if he got a role or not. 85 kids came to audition last night. There are open auditions again tonight and they are expected the same number to show. There are 15 parts. The odds are small of him getting a part, however if he does get a part our SWW plans will be turned upside down since practice is Mon to Friday evenings and we have reservations each weekend of SWW Thurs to Monday, starting May 13th. It's going to be quite a bit of driving back and forth. But I know he will enjoy both. There were two other friends who were in his audition group and they have Disney APs too and are planning on SWW.

If he doesn't get a role SWW will be a whole lot less complicated.

Doesn't help to try to lose weight when he is making all these incredible foods.

I love that we keep finding hidden treasures and new things at WDW. It never gets old.

yay! happy something will work our for us to see you guys!

Thank you! It was a hit!! I normally order our cakes from Safeway but kind of got a little annoyed when they wanted to charge me an extra $5 for plastic figurines they put on the cake (that end up getting thrown away anyways) and saying those aren't "decorations". If those are then what the heck is!!! I've been rounds with them and I was done!! So a close friend recommended another friend of hers about 2 weeks before his birthday and I got lucky that she could do it. I've already got her planning James and Sarah's Sofia/Thomas birthday cake!! I know what a combo!! If he want's Star Wars again we'll do it!

Well I know next year is going to be crazy but we'll make it work. Jeremy is going to go into Boy Scout's and Sarah is going to go into Brownie's with a friend of hers from her preschool. She'll be going to kindergarten with her also. But still want a little more for each of them. Maybe just something for the summer so we'll see.

If he gets a part, it will be a great honor. We will gladly make the necessary sacrifices to help him. He can't stay the whole day at DHS anyway. We will just have to be creative and plan things out a bit. Though that's hard to do til the morning of, since we won't know a return time for Celeb M&G, JTA, PMC, etc.

Yes, those extras can really add up. That's great that you found someone nearby who can help. JJ loves Sofia the first. Thomas use to be a big favorite too. But he'd definitely pick Star Wars over those. He was disappointed there was no Star Wars cake this year to choose from. He liked his pull-a-part Buzz and Woody though.
