If Obama starts taxing this major corporations, they are going to increase their price of their product. So your net gain = 0. Dont belive me?? look at when gases prices went up. Companies small or big started to charge gas fees to insure that they were still making the same profit. Same thing with major corporations

Except for the fact this is going to bring back the middle class and the middle class it the backbone of the United States and what kept us doing well with a successful economy during the Clinton reign.

I went through the DODMERB's (Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board) this summer in my process to apply to the United States Air Force Academy. You definetly can join the military without perfect vision. The only thing that you might not be able to do is fly, however the Air Force Academy will pay for your eye repair if becoming a pilot is what you want to do, after their approved operation, you will then become eligible to fly.

You do have to be able to complete boot camp/basic cadet training in order to join the military, however if you push yourself you will be able to do this...it is totally mind over matter...If any of you have seen A Few Good Men...the movie is based on a true story...For those of you who haven't...A man had lost his leg while serving in the Navy...but pushed himself and became a diver for them with a prostetic leg.

I know the Academy's will also pay for you to recieve you're masters and PHD degrees. The GI bill that addicted.to.speed was talking about is also a great option to have the military/government pay for your college in whole.

Jews don't think he has come yet, Christians believe it was Jesus, and Muslims believe it was Mohammad. Although the Koran and Bible are slightly different, they share almost all of the same basic principles. The Jews have the same Bible as Christians, they're just excluding the half that talks about Jesus.

That means for every 4 people who say there is a God, there is 1 who believes there isn't one or they believe in a very different religion. I don't get why it upsets people that under god is in the pledge when 80% percent of america believes in god...if you don't want to say it, then don't...but you can still say the rest of the pledge...noone is forcing you to say the words under god.

I voted obama, but um...if you can't afford a 4 year college, why not go to a community college? In California, if you make under a certain amount your college is paid for AND you get up to 6 thousands dollars to help your living situation/buying books/etc every year. From there you can either accept your A.A. degree, or transfer to a 4 year college (state colleges aren't crazy expensive, and have a multitude of ways to get the money to go). I'm sorry, I know going into debt is bad, but the education you receive in this day and age basically determines your future (besides poor teachers ).

I also don't think that Obama is going to be able to give 95% of the nation tax cuts. I know that "middle class" is different everywhere. I'm middle class in my area, but my family's net worth is well over a couple million dollars. You go an hour south and the middle class there has a net worth significantly less.

I believe that the effort is what counts though. Though he may not be able to do everything he promised (I've never heard of a president who did such a thing), I believe that he's going to bring new ideas to the plate that may not "save the world" (his words not mine, haha), but could bring a little peace to this crazy nation of ours. As long as he doesn't leave us in the shambles we're in, I'll be proud to say that Obama is the first president I've voted for.

Yeah, Obama is our first black president... so what? Uhmm he's not black! His mom is white and his dad is from Kenya, his white grandmother even helped raise him. And the sad part is, I'm sure 75% of his votes were simply because he's black. Some Obama supporters- don't even know his policies? his background?

One of his ideas is to basically "take from the rich and give to the poor." I am not rich by any means, but if I happen to be rich someday it'll be because I worked my butt off to get it and I EARNED IT and I sure won't want anyone to take that away from me just to be "equal" money-wise. I just have to say one thing about this election, How can SO MANY uneducated and ignorant people be able to vote. I have no problem with Obama winning at all, I was leaning towards him in the beggining, but started leaning towards McCain in the end. I was all for McCain till his VP choice as well but oh well. That is besides the point, I can't vote anyways so I pretty much have no say :/
But the MAIN reasons Obama won is for the following reasons,

1. Everybody hated Busch so much they could not stand to have another Republican in there. I believe the Republican party new this, hense Palin being VP and they knew nobody would like that. Republicans will come back in 2012. [as long Palin doesn't run ]

2. Obama is black. Sorry but that is a pretty big factor on how he won. He is POPULAR. He convinced the younger generation to vote. Of course most of the younger generation is going to go for that cool young guy. Don't get me wrong I am sure there were A LOT of educated young voters, but there were a lot of uneducated voters as well. Take for example this one girl [who is black might I add, but there were white people like this as well...] at my work who is 19 our convo went like this:
Me: "who did you vote for?"
Her: "Obama of course"
Me: "why did you vote for him?"
Her: "oh not just because he was black[I never mentioned that to this point...] I really like his polocies."
Me: "And, which ones did you like?"
Her: "umm, Well I really liked his education plan."
Me: "And what was that exactly?"
Her: "uhhmmm, well I just really liked it."

Like honestly how many more people voted like this. It just ticks me off to no end. & then they show all the people crying on TV how Obama is the first black president. I know it is a big deal, and it is making history. But shouldn't people be happy about what he is going to do with this country, not just his skin color. I am praying our country does not fall apart in the next four years. Honestly I would be praying this even if McCain won. Our country is CRAP right now. I just wish people would educate themselves before voting.

Oh and another thing, Obama won by around 50% in most of the states. That means pretty much half the country likes him, half the country hates him. I have a feeling this is going to be a very long four years, and I just hope he does not get hurt. :[

Well, fortunately for you, the military has the don't ask don't tell policy...So unless you go around telling everyone you're gay, and making a big deal out of it, you can still be in the military

However I hope Obama does the stuff he campaigned that he was going to do...not how his previous voting record implies. And can some people tell me specifically what change is going to happen?
