Come here to argue politics and loose your temper and embaress yourself

When people say that the lower class doesnt work as hard as the upperclass, I dont think that these people mean that the lower class puts in the same amount of hours or anything like that. They mean that there is a reason for these people working in the lower class. They didnt put the Time and Effort when they needed to. Unstead they did other things, unlike the higher class who put in the time and effort.

Their is a consequence for everything you do in life. Why is it fair that people making $250,000 a year have to bailout all these people who made bad choices? What does that promote? Work hard in school and dont party everynight and get a good job, but have to give all that money to the people who deiceded not to work hard in school and party?

So the main point of my post is that everything you do in life will come back around and bite you in your butt. So why should the higher class be taking the bite for the lower class???????

Wow. Condescending much? I think so. I hope one day you will become wiser about this situation, and that right now you are talking out of your rear end. Don't judge a book by it's cover, that's all I'm going to say.

Like Ricky Bobby said, 250k isn't extremely wealthy everywhere. My friend's parents make 450k a year, and they live in a pretty nice house in Campbell. People living in Saratoga and Monte Sereno are making close to 750k a year on average.

Also, there are THOUSANDS of scholarships geared toward pretty much every situation you could be in (ethnicity, economic state, etc). For example, I'm related to Elbridge Gerry, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and the 4th vice president of the united states. I get thousands of dollars from the DAR (daughters of the american revolution). My friend I mentioned above had to get loans because he has 3 other siblings who are all going to college and his parents make too much money to get really anything from financial aid.

(totally off-topic, but you will not believe how much money garbage men make, haha).

Addicted, "P.Diddy" went to a private high school in New York and went to college. The only reason he didn't finish his education is because he became a top executive at Uptown records. Noooot the greatest example.

then tough luck on them for not doing something with their life

well, you pretty much gave a great example of why people making a lot of money are pissed. I'm sorry, but being witness to so many people abusing the system it's hard to agree with people who are trying to push the system even more.

I was on a cruise and was watching the news with the people in the teen place. FINALLY I was with people who I could actually talk to that shared the same views as me and I didn't get shut out by all the democrats in my history class.

I'm seriously really annoyed at the fact McCain didn't win. Like I was really P.Oed. It's just frustrating that people chose that over experience. I personally don't think the country with go the way Obama plans.

However I do think it's pretty cool I'm alive with the first (half)black president.

You know, a lot of the most rewarding jobs don't pay people $250,000 a year. Teachers, who work a job that literally creates all others, make an average of $47,602 a year.

Registered Nurses make, on average, about $58,226 a year. And that's only after getting through college and working as a nurse for a MINIMUM of 20 years.

Firefighters, who risk their lives every day to save others, make an average of $58,226 a year as well. Police? They make an average of $44,000 a year.

I most definitely wouldn't call any of these people lazy. They've all attended school and work just as hard as anyone else. Just because a person doesn't make $100,000+ a year, it doesn't mean that they're lazy people who would rather sit on the couch and watch tv instead of working.

Yes this is true, but you have to be realistic and see that people do slack off and than pay the price later in their life. And now they want everyone else to help them out even though they threw their chances out the window.

Also people need to stop blaming their own misfortunes because they couldnt go to college. Like Ricky Bobby stated earlyer, there are plenty of aids for people to afford college.

No the fact of life is college is not free, and scholarships can only ever be available to a small minority - they can't pay it for everyone who wants to go and can't afford it money doesn't go on trees you know. Plus to get a scholarship you need to prove really sporting, academic etc worth above and beyond other students higher class kids who want to go to college don't have to do this displacing your theory that the higher class puts in more time and effort.

If you can't afford to go to college you can't end off. It's not because they're lazy, or any less intelligent then anyone else it;s just a harsh reality of life. And it doesn't just start when you get to college level, theres empirical evidence that the working class do less well throughout the education due to their culture, lack of resources etc - yes you can do by without a computer, or access to your own textbooks, extra tuition, but it can make things harder for the working class (again displacing your theory that the higher class put in mor time and effort)

Anyone who says the class system is dead needs to open their eyes - A level Sociology talking here - the working class are disadvantaged in life.

As other posters have said we've got to have the policeman, the nurses, the firefighter, the teachers etc - these jobs are all the very core of society which without we could not function at all. Yet so many are taken for granted, yes people choose these careers, but somebodies got to do them!

The majority of jobs earning over 250K a year are business related, you know not everybody wants to sit at a desk and crunch numbers. And again not everybody wants to be a doctor!

There seems to be a lot of ignorance on this thread as regards to anyone who is not in some high powered job must be lazy

I'm seriously really annoyed at the fact McCain won.

He did!! :scared1: :lmao:

There are people who work hard but aren't in the upper class. That is the working class.

The upper class works hard, but I believe they are overpaid. Especially CEOs and executives of companies.

There are some people who I do not believe deserve handouts. These are the people (some of whom I know personally, which is why this is such a testy issue with me) who really make me mad. They have opportunities to improve themselves but choose not to. They keep having kids so they get more government assistance. That is not fair and needs to stop. They want to make sure they don't make over x amount so they will get their food stamps, even if it would greatly improve their situation. In one instance someone I know turned down an increase in income of $1,000 more dollars a month because they would get less in food stamps. This REALLY upsets me. They don't spend their money wisely. They buy things they do not need but claim they have no money for basic necessities. Well you would have money if you would stop buying brand new baby toys and clothes when you can go to a secondhand store and get like new things for more than half the cost of new. You would have more money if you would stop buying $100 shoes for yourself. People need to get real! You don't need any of that stuff. It angers me when they are getting government money (which is really my money and your money) to buy things they do not need.

So, I think taking money from people who have earned it and giving it away to people who sit around all day when they are perfectly capable of working but CHOOSE NOT TO is completely wrong.

Unfortunately, in the end, they're probably the people that will see the most money.
