WOW. May have miss interpreted this but;

your sisters friends are so ignorant and ungrateful.

Did you know, that people of all classes and particularly women, for YEARS campaigned and some people even DIED so that people in countries all over the world could have the right to vote and choose how they wanted people to run their country?

Some people in other countries still don't even have this right to vote, or have the right but are forced to vote for someone in fear that if they vote for someone else, they will be killed.

The fact that some teenage girls and guys voted for someone as a joke, and abused this right that people before us have earned actually disgusts me.

Sorry if I sound like I am over reacting there, but I think that if you register to vote and then choose to vote for someone as a joke, then you should have no complaints about how the country is run seeing as you didn't even choose who you felt was the right person.

I hope Obama finds a way to sort out America's financial problems, because in the UK our economy is AWFUl atm and we're going into recession now as a consequence. The whole world will basically be affected by what he does.

The US is not a race. It is not one race. It is not just caucasian. There are tons of different races. African American and caucasian are not the only ones out there. People need to stop paying so much attention to pigmentation of skin. Who cares? It's DNA and genes for heavens sake. People are people. Obama loves his country, and wants to do the best he can for it. I don't think race is important in his eyes.

I am so glad for the African American community. Think about it, 50 years ago, we were only seeing integration in schools. We would have never seen this sort of thing. Think back further and they were slaves down South. And now one is leading the country. Now, people have to remember, Obama is not black really. He's interacial. He's mixed. He's neither white or black.
He's a person.

That's what it's saying to me. And it's pissing me off. I am for gay rights. I am straight myself, but I am passionate on this subject. It falls right back into prejudice, and it makes me angry. What happens to these people who got married? Do they just lose their rights? What about those people who were so excited and are in the middle of wedding planning? It's been like 5 months since it was legalized, and now it's about to be banned again.

To me that's saying: He is not loyal to our country. He does not respect us as Americans, nor does he respect those who died for our flag or those who serve for it now. It ticks me off that so many people voted for him just because of his color. Not to mention the fact that the media gave him WAY more airtime than any of the other candidates. What happened to "fair and balanced?" NEWSFLASH people! You can't always trust what you see on TV.

I am not in any means racist. I'm not saying that Obama will turn this country upside down.. He's a good man, and will most likely make a wonderful president.. I'm just upset because people voted for him, not for what he stands for but because they saw a black man standing behind the podium. But I hope he does a good job, and from what I've seen other than the things ive named that I dont like about him.. he seems like he'll do a good job.

All I have to say is, if you don't vote (and are eligible to) you can't complain if the guy elected isn't the guy you agree with. And if you vote for the other guy as a "JOKE", well, you also can't complain when he gets elected. So quit whining. I love my country, I do. But I think that having to stand, every day and recite a pledge is arcane. I shouldn't have to prove I love my country to anybody. I love my country, I really do. It's the current administration I hate.

I love my country, and I stand each and every day for the national anthem, and mumble it under my breath (we do not have to sing if we do not wish, I mumble along in French). But if someone decides they're not going to stand. that's fine. My best guy friend doesn't stand, but I don't judge. His reasoning is more of a religious one, but I'm not going to bug him about it.
People make such a big deal out of this.

My teacher got annoyed when people in my class didnt stand for the pledge. It's their choice if they want to or not. That's what so great about America ( and other nations) is we can make choices and decisions.

I stand but I don't normally recite the pledge. The people on the announcements who do it, do it waaay to fast for me to stand up, put my hand over my heart, and begin.

We recite the pledge on Mondays in the mornings and Fridays in the mornings.

They don't really give us enough time to stand, hand over heart, and recite, but pretty much everyone stands in my class.

I'm pretty much the only one to say it- I don't typically enjoy it but that's just because it came more of a chore than a pledge.

His tax plans wont do crap. Yes it looks good on paper and yes it will lower taxes for what is it 95% of Americans, but it wont work.

If Obama starts taxing this major corporations, they are going to increase their price of their product. So your net gain = 0. Dont belive me?? look at when gases prices went up. Companies small or big started to charge gas fees to insure that they were still making the same profit. Same thing with major corporations

my mother has a masters degree, and is working on her phd. we are still middle class. and we are still getting that tax cut.

Not everyone that doesn't go to college is a high school dropout. Many people don't go to college simply because they cannot afford it. Because they cannot afford it, they are unable to get a diploma that allows them to get a better paying job. Ultimately they are forced to take a lower paying job and often have to take several in order to pay the bills.

Of course you are going to have people that abuse the system, but its not enough to make such statements.

If you cant aford college, go into the military. Serve your 4 years and you get your college paid for. There are ways to overcome the expenses. People need to stop being lazy and making excuses for themselves.

If a new president means you'd abandon your country, go right ahead.

I'm would definitely say that joining the military is a great alternative. However, with a current standing in the world, I really wouldn't want to. Sure they say that they will pay for your college as long as you dedicate four years, but it has happened time and time again that people are having to serve more than four years.

In this situation, I wouldn't want to join the military. However, I totally support the troops. I believe we shouldn't be over there losing our men and women in a pointless war.

You can't go into the military if you have any medical injury/disease/etc. am I correct?
I'm not sure, but if you dont have perfect vision, are you still allowed to join the military?

I know what that's like. My mom has very limited mobility due to a disease that even neurologists can't figure out.
But, because she can "kinda" walk, she gets no disability.
