Come here to argue politics and loose your temper and embaress yourself

I just have to say one thing about this election, How can SO MANY uneducated and ignorant people be able to vote. I have no problem with Obama winning at all, I was leaning towards him in the beggining, but started leaning towards McCain in the end. I was all for McCain till his VP choice as well but oh well. That is besides the point, I can't vote anyways so I pretty much have no say :/
But the MAIN reasons Obama won is for the following reasons,

1. Everybody hated Busch so much they could not stand to have another Republican in there. I believe the Republican party new this, hense Palin being VP and they knew nobody would like that. Republicans will come back in 2012. [as long Palin doesn't run  ]

2. Obama is black. Sorry but that is a pretty big factor on how he won. He is POPULAR. He convinced the younger generation to vote. Of course most of the younger generation is going to go for that cool young guy. Don't get me wrong I am sure there were A LOT of educated young voters, but there were a lot of uneducated voters as well. Take for example this one girl [who is black might I add, but there were white people like this as well...] at my work who is 19 our convo went like this:
Me: "who did you vote for?"
Her: "Obama of course"
Me: "why did you vote for him?"
Her: "oh not just because he was black[I never mentioned that to this point...] I really like his polocies."
Me: "And, which ones did you like?"
Her: "umm, Well I really liked his education plan."
Me: "And what was that exactly?"
Her: "uhhmmm, well I just really liked it."

Like honestly how many more people voted like this. It just ticks me off to no end. & then they show all the people crying on TV how Obama is the first black president. I know it is a big deal, and it is making history. But shouldn't people be happy about what he is going to do with this country, not just his skin color. I am praying our country does not fall apart in the next four years. Honestly I would be praying this even if McCain won. Our country is CRAP right now. I just wish people would educate themselves before voting.

Oh and another thing, Obama won by around 50% in most of the states. That means pretty much half the country likes him, half the country hates him. I have a feeling this is going to be a very long four years, and I just hope he does not get hurt. :[

This is a really long rant pretty much, sorry lol.

Oh god, where to begin. Your entire rant is completely ridiculous. You basically said everyone, all however many millions of people, are as dumb as that girl you talked to. News flash, PEOPLE DID THE SAME THING FOR MCCAIN. Not everyone knows policies. I was already leaning towards Obama before I even knew his platform solely because I'm a democrat and would lean more towards his view. Yet I did MY research and came to MY own opinion. I know what I AM talking about so why did you throw me into this category of voting for him because he is black. I really couldn't give a damn.

Also, McCain was a fairly liberal Republican and I know plenty of Democrats that voted for him and vice versa so that is no plausible argument.

And, of course people were crying when he won. DO YOU REALIZE HOW FAR WE HAVE COME? "White people" in America used to keep people, HUMAN BEINGS, from "his race" as SLAVES. They're were beaten, used as props and not even looked at as human and now we have an exception black man as president.

Last thing, most elections are 50/50 or around there kay, and that doesn't mean the other 50 HATE the newly elected it means they don't agree with them as strongly. If your going to throw that argument out there think of all the poor folks that had to endure EIGHT long, hellish years under the Bush regime, thanks.

Reading up about all the "hidden" craziness that surrounded Sarah Palin makes me even happier that Obama won.

Who doesn't know Africa is a continent?

Did you hear about the French Canadians that had a conference call with her on the radio (I think it was the radio) and pretended to be important French politicians. She thought they really were and she was talking to them about it for like 7-8 minutes!!!

I don't even wanna THINK about what would have happened to this country if she was VP.
:scared:

She didn't know that?

I KNOW right?! I knew Africa was a continent when I was a little kid. She's a grown woman. I don't understand how she even has a Bachelor of Science degree.

Sarah Palin, B.S.
Actually, her credentials sound about right to me.

:rotfl: Seriously, how DUMB could the republicans be for picking her as the VP? They HAD to have some idea of her incompetence when choosing her seeing as it's so prevalent.

I honestly think McCain's logic was to try and get the "female votes" since Clinton dropped out of the race. I think he saw that Obama was getting all of the attention, so he got desperate.

I could be wrong, that's just my opinion.

Sarah Palin energized the republican party...and actually made the election a race. Before he chose Palin as his running mate, none of the republicans were even remotely excited about the election. Obama had tons of energy and publicity, while McCain was sitting in the backround. Choosing a woman as his running mate made most republicans very happy and gave the members of the party a ton of hope.

Unfortunately for her, she got pounded hard by the media for not taking all their interviews, and many of the bad things said about her were taken out of context. People who should have been supportive of a female V.P. i.e. Oprah turned their backs on her. Soon SNL starts playing her as a complete idiot, and everyone thinks she is one.

sort of on topic but mostly off.

my friend just sent me this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxlwYP0HNdc&feature=related

here's the lyrics:

Obama on the left
McCain on the right
We can talk politics all night
And you can vote however you like
You can vote however you like, yeah

Democratic left
Republican right
November 4th we decide
And you can vote however you like
You can vote however you like, yeah

(McCain supporters)
McCain is the man
Fought for us in Vietnam
You know if anyone can
Help our country he can
Taxes droppin low
Dont you know oils gonna flow
Drill it low
I'll show our economy will grow
McCain's the best candidate
With Palin as his running mate
They'll fight for gun rights, pro life,
The conservative right
Our future is bright
Better economy in site
And all the world will feel our military might

(Obama supporters)
But McCain and Bush are real close right
They vote alike and keep it tight
Obama's new, he's younger too
The Middle Class he will help you
He'll bring a change, he's got the brains
McCain and Bush are just the same
You are to blame, Iraq's a shame
Four more years would be insane

Lower your Taxes - you know Obama Won't
PROTECT THE LOWER CLASS - You know McCain won't!
Have enough experience - you know that they don't
STOP GLOBAL WARMING - you know that you won't

I want Obama
FORGET OBAMA
Stick with McCain and you're going to have some drama
We need it
HE'LL BRING IT
He'll be it
YOU'LL SEE IT
We'll do it
GET TO IT
Let's move it
DO IT!

Obama on the left
McCain on the right
We can talk politics all night
And you can vote however you like
You can vote however you like, yeah

Democratic left
Republican right
November 4th we decide
And you can vote however you like, I said
You can vote however you like, yeah

I'm talking big pipe lines, and low gas prices
Below $2.00 that would be nice

But to do it right we gotta start today
Finding renewable ways that are here to stay

I want Obama
FORGET OBAMA,
Stick wit McCain you gone have some drama
MORE WAR IN IRAQ
Iran he will attack
CAN'T BRING OUR TROOPS BACK
We gotta vote Barack!

Obama on the left
McCain on the right
We can talk politics all night
And you can vote however you like, I said
You can vote however you like, yeah

Democratic left
Republican right
November 4th we decide
And you can vote however you like, I said
You can vote however you like, yeah

Don't want to get in a fight over this but, if you read my post I stated several times not everybody was like that, but a lot were. Maybe if you read its entirity you would see this :thumbsup2

& I do know that Busch was 50/50 as well, that is the exact reason why you found a lot of people that did hate him. Once he started screwing up more, everybody just began to hate him more.

I do realize how far we have come. Don't get me wrong I think it is wonderful. I just don't think it should be the sole reason people are happy he has won, or the reason they voted for him.

This is just what I have noticed, and I did not mean to attack anybody personally by my comments.

Yeah, Obama is our first black president... so what? Uhmm he's not black! His mom is white and his dad is from Kenya, his white grandmother even helped raise him. And the sad part is, I'm sure 75% of his votes were simply because he's black. Some Obama supporters- don't even know his policies? his background?

One of his ideas is to basically "take from the rich and give to the poor." I am not rich by any means, but if I happen to be rich someday it'll be because I worked my butt off to get it and I EARNED IT and I sure won't want anyone to take that away from me just to be "equal" money-wise. They should have to earn it themselves, just like everyone else that worked their butt off to get where they are.

Obama: He will not salute the AMERICAN FLAG, he will not wear the flag, he will not say the Pledge of Allegiance... And do you know what it means when you say the Pledge? - You're saying that you are loyal to our country. So what do you think it means that Obama REFUSES to say the Pledge????

To me that's saying: He is not loyal to our country. He does not respect us as Americans, nor does he respect those who died for our flag or those who serve for it now. It ticks me off that so many people voted for him just because of his color. Not to mention the fact that the media gave him WAY more airtime than any of the other candidates. What happened to "fair and balanced?" NEWSFLASH people! You can't always trust what you see on TV.

I am not in any means racist. I'm not saying that Obama will turn this country upside down.. He's a good man, and will most likely make a wonderful president.. I'm just upset because people voted for him, not for what he stands for but because they saw a black man standing behind the podium. But I hope he does a good job, and from what I've seen other than the things ive named that I dont like about him.. he seems like he'll do a good job.

Actually, the fact that Obama was black likely had little to do with how many black people voted for him. The black vote is the largest base vote of the Democratic party, so he likely would have had those votes anyway. If he was a Republican and he got a high percentage of the black vote, then you would have a better argument that the votes were race based.

I didn't vote for Obama but I hope our country does well under him.

Cassidy,

That was the funniest thing ive seen all day!! we are going 2 die. especially the patients in the hospital. my mom says that he is going to do bad things in the medical fields and stuff

It just will make the nursing shortage worse. I think by 2010 in Arizona, there will be a 1,000,000 nursing shortage. That is a scary thought.

Except for the fact this is going to bring back the middle class and the middle class it the backbone of the United States and what kept us doing well with a successful economy during the Clinton reign.

Also remember that the president doesn't really have as much power of the treasury as you may think. It's congress.

Um actually if you read my post you would realize that the middle class net gain would be 0 or or very close to that. Taxing major corporations will make the corparation increase their products sale price.

You pay lower taxes, but pay more for food and other things

hmm maybe if you'd do your research you would see that the senate and the house are run by democrates oh and not to mention the president now too
