Comcast is the WORST!!!!!

Comcast is the worst! I live near Nashville Tn and would switch to Uverse in a heartbeat if it was offered in my neighborhood. My daughter has Uverse in her apartment and her picture quality is unbelieveably clear and crisp. The signal Comcast delivers to my home is so weak it can't power more than two TVs. We put an amplifier on the line and still can not get a strong enough signal to watch movies on demand. Every movie we try to watch pixilates every four or five minutes. Comcast has sent technicians to my home. Each time they test the line before it enters the house and each time the tech says the signal is weak but they have never offered to do anything about it. And no matter how much they deny it, their signal is affected by how many people in your area are also using their service. I have much worse problems in the evening when more people are at home.
 
Comcast's service can really vary depending on the area you live in. I've had my share of problems over the years, but in the end they've always resolved my issues ... a few times after it was escalated to regional managers. I know once FiOS was introduced, Comcast really had to step up thier game in those areas. Unfortunately, where there's no decent competiton, Comcast doesn't seem to care.

If you're really stuck, you may want to check out www.broadbandreports.com and post on the Comcast Direct forum. In the past, the Direct support has stayed with my issue, including escalating to regional managers when needed and making sure they contact me. I'm not saying it's a sure fix, but it's another avenue
 
We have had Comcast in our area for many years (at least 30) in PA. We have had no issues with them. They are very polite, wear shoe covers in our homes, explain everything so that we understand, and are patient while doing business.

Perhaps the issues you are experiencing are because they are NEW in the area, and the trainees aren't sure of themselves. A polite call to Comcast is all that is needed to fix issues. They answer immediately.

I hope your service improves. Try calling Customer Service again. They really are quite nice. If that doesn't work, ask for a PA office! :thumbsup2

They are beyond awful and extremely expensive. I have friends that have worked at Comcast and say the same thing.

Believe me, I am one of the most patient and polite people there is until you give me reason not to be. Yet, they give me reason all the time.

As soon as we get another cable provider in the area I am switching. Comcast has been charging me for high speed internet for years. Yet, I had one of their subcontractors (a friend of mine over) and he said, "You do know that's not a high speed box; right?" And, they are the ones that installed it!!! Same thing with my cable box. Supposed to get the phone number of the person calling displayed on my tv. Once again, they installed the wrong box.

No option for Verizon down there for you? I know up in metro north boston our only two options are comcast and verizon. We use comcast.

During my first visit to the local comcast office I told the rep the same thing. I could count on one hand the times I have become irate with a company. But this bunch? What I have encountered so far is a mass of liars.
 
I have had no issues with their cable, but I will never get their internet after the issues multiple friends have had and couldn't get resolved.
 
I love living in the Northeast. Everything seems easier here. Customer Service issues are handled by most every business I can think of in a polite & timely manner.

I never thought of myself as "lucky" to have Customer Service before -- but I'm a believer now! A Lucky Believer! :thumbsup2
 
We have pretty good luck with Comcast, but we only have them for High Speed Internet. We have Dish for TV and have always been pleased with their service, until they temporarily dropped AMC and we thought we wasn't going to be able to watch The Walking Dead. You can get Hallmark as an "add on"...I'm with your DW, I'm a sap for their Christmas movie specials.
 
Worst customer service ever. I have nothing good to say about them at all. :headache:
 
We have Comcast and a friend's husband is a CSR for Comcast. I once made the mistake of complaining to her about my internet (it's like we have dial-up...and we're not the only ones in our complex with this issue). NEVER AGAIN. She defends Comcast up and down, says they're the best around and my DH should call her DH (I'm not on the account), get a new modem, and he'll also "fix us up" with a really good deal (that in the end will cost us about $50 MORE than we're already paying)...

Yeah, they're great for her...she gets free cable, home phone, and internet!
