Comcast is the WORST!!!!!

Until about a month ago we had ATT Uversie as our cable/landline/internet provider However, they did not carry Hallmark, which was a favorite of my DW so I told her I would call and compare with Comcast. I explained to the Comcast rep that I wanted the basic networks, plus ESPN, USA, Hallmark, Soapnet and my favorite (other than sports) TCM, 4 room DVR service, landline and internet. "No problem" she says "and we can save you money."

What a bunch of bull.

They "installed" but TCM was not available, DVR in only two rooms instead of 4, installer went on my pc without permission to install software, subsequent calls to install what was promised resulted in higher amount than ATT charged, appointments were missed, etc. There has been a series of e-mail to rival the length of "Gone With the Wind" and the entire thing makes be furious.

They have a 30 day customer guarrantee and we are in the 20th day and still everything has not been corrected. If it were up to me, I would drop that company in a hearbeat, but DW likes Hallmark, especially the Christmas movies. I may let Christmas pass so she can see the movies, then kick that bunch of losers out so quick it will make you head spin.

Have I made my point?
 
Yes they are! Around here they were caught sending letters to people accusing them of stealing PPV and threatening to prosecute if the didn't pay up. Problem was, they sent many of those letters to non-customers! So not only are they weasels, they're not very bright weasels.
 

While i can honestly say that I am not glad others have a dislike for them, I can also say I'm glad it's not just me!

Seriously....I am so glad when ATT Uverse came to our neighborhood....the internet was slow...channels were fuzzy....dvr was always troublesome....ughh!

att uverse channel with HD channels actually make sense... just add +1000 to SD channel and its HD!!!
 
We have had Comcast in our area for many years (at least 30) in PA. We have had no issues with them. They are very polite, wear shoe covers in our homes, explain everything so that we understand, and are patient while doing business.

Perhaps the issues you are experiencing are because they are NEW in the area, and the trainees aren't sure of themselves. A polite call to Comcast is all that is needed to fix issues. They answer immediately.

I hope your service improves. Try calling Customer Service again. They really are quite nice. If that doesn't work, ask for a PA office! :thumbsup2
 
We get TCM thru Comcast even with basic service. In our area, it's Ch. 64 and it's about the highest channel number on basic. It's also on HD on 890. Our Comcast is run from Pittsburgh. We have great service, as PP also mentioned. I can't imagine you can't get TCM, but I'm sorry if that's the case. It's my favorite channel and one of the select few channels I watch.
 
I tried every avenue to get TCM and it is simply not available through Comcast in our area. ATT yes but not comcast. I've even been in contact with the office of the president of Comcast and still crappy service and response. From every office across the region bad BAD service
 
They were horrible in my area. Worst customer service ever and they don't show up on time.

I LOVED hallmark and like you, we switched to uverse. I found lifetime and lifetime movie network (LMN) on there. They play all the same christmas movies. Just something to look into if you can't stand comcast!
 
I've noticed that they have the same type of Christmas movies so I'm hopefuly DW will join in my crusade against comcast.

BTW, I had sent an e-mail to the office of the president of comcast, as I had mentioned in an earlier post, and got the same "I am so and so and I guarrantee you that I can take care of your problem, same old same old, blah, blah, blah" and even said my issues had been forwarded to a rep that would contact me and resolve the problems. She said the rep would contact me on my cell within 24-72 hours. Within 24 hours, the rep left a voice mail on my home number, not my cell, so I did not get the message until last night. I have left three messages, so far, for her to call me. Wanna guess who has not called me? I'm going to keep calling and leaving voice mails just to aggrevate her and make her go through the process of deleting them since she obviously has no intentions of calling me.

They are just a bunch of crap!

I told them I wasn't interested right now, but would consider it when we decided to make a change. So one week later I get a call from comast confirming an appointment to instal. I told them I was not interested and never agreed to it. They said they would cancel the appointment. Last Monday after I got home from work guess who shows up, comast to instal the cable. Again I told them I did not want it. I have to admit I was considering it, but after that, there is no way I would go with them.

I just went in to my local office yesterday to upgrade one of our boxes, and they were absolutely polite and helpful. I got exactly what I asked for quickly and with a pleasant attitude. I think it just depends on where you are.
 
I 'm sure that is true, but it continues to amaze me that I have been in contact with the local, regional, and even national and EVERY office results in the same . Oh, sure, we will take care/contact you---but no one has as of yet. I tried three times to contact the person who was to have contacted me and not one return phone call as of yet.
