We just returned from a great trip and wanted to post in agreement with many other posters that the Columbia Harbor House was just great.

I don't mean to sound so excited over a counter service place but it was a real lifesaver for us on multiple days. My kids said several times this was their favorite place to eat.

We ate a very yummy tuna sandwich on nice toasted oat? bread that was so filling and tasty, the vegetarian chili that was really good, and the kids ate the mac and cheese meals and the chicken nugget meal which they really enjoyed.

We were not on the dining plan, so costs of meals was a factor to us. I have to say I was very pleased on the whole with the kids meals that were offered throughout the parks. You could chose 2 sides which included fruit, cookies, fries, apple sauce, or pudding plus a nice bottle of water all for $4.99. I felt this was a good value and the kids loved it.

About CHH, we always got a table upstairs near the windows and it was such a lovely place to sit, relax, regroup and just enjoy the setting. The kids loved the nautical setting, the music that was played, it was not crowed and really let you relax and feel refreshed and ready to return to the park.

Great place and we will surely return on our next visit!

This is one of my newly-discovered favorites. I love the lighthouse sandwich that's made with hummus. It's so good. I'd love to have one today! But, alas, I'm in rainy, cold Indiana.

I have to say that CHH is one of our favorite CS rest. in MK.......the food is great and I absolutely love that they have SWEET TEA......and when I say sweet tea I mean sweet just the way I like it :lmao:

OMG!!!!!!! We about died when we saw we could get real brewed sweet tea. Not the fake junk. It was soooo good.
I think this is my favorite CS restaurant as well. It was sooo yummy.

I know, when we found out about the tea we all went in and ordered some, I think we were just about out by the time we got back outside :rotfl: We practically live off of sweet tea at home and when we found out where to get it at MK it was like we were running like some of the people do at rope drop to get to Space Mtn. :lmao: so that we could get some of it.

My DH commented that we must have walked past CHH a million times during past trips and never went in. I wonder if people assume it is a "fish" restaurant and just keep going.

Thats fine with me now that we have discovered this gem!

This is one of my favorite restaurants. I have to eat here at least once on my trips. :)

We also love CHH!! We got there when it opened at sat upstairs too! very quiet and relaxing...a "must do" for every trip :)

We've been CHH fans for ages. And you got me grinning over the sweet tea ... as a fellow southerner, like our friend posting from Canton, GA, we "get it."

I'm a native Alabamian myself, but now living in Mississippi, which is proof God has a sense of humor. There is a difference in the states, for sure. ;)

By far, our favorite CS restuarant. The prices are awesome! I dont think you can get a better deal at any park anywhere else! We found it our first time and the second time we went, we made it a point to plan our day around eating here. Totally worth it!

We actually skipped LTT (my DH's request) to eat here for a third time on last trip. It has a wonderful variety without it feeling too much like fast food.

In all our trips to Disney we have never eaten at CHH but now that I know they have sweet tea my DH will be so happy! He went to college in Florida and got so hooked on sweet tea. He's always so disappointed it not served much at Disney.

Well, thanks to the wonderful folks here on the Dis my family finally tried CHH last year and we LOVED IT! :lovestruc We even took the suggestion and went a little later in the day perhaps right before the dinner rush and enjoyed our meal upstairs. There were very few people upstairs so my kids were able to move more freely and didn't have to worry about the noise because there were no folks to bother in the section we were in at the time. We can't wait to make it another stop on next months trip only this time we'll dine there for lunch as we have a dinner reservation at CP later that same day. I think we'll try to have an early lunch around 11:30am as to beat the crowds again and to have our pick of tables in the upstairs dining room.

Yeah I agree with my mom (Aladisneygurl). When I finally got tea i was so happy it did not take me long to drink it all. Cant wait to get some next time I go.

Wow, there are a lot of CHH fans out there!

We went there and both had the fish & chips but weren't too impressed (very greasy for fish & chips)...I guess I'll have to try the sandwich sometime in the future...

Oh my goodness, I didn't realize they had "real" sweet tea!!! I have had the tuna sandwich and it is awesome but I never knew about the sweet tea. I guess I'll be enjoying a tuna sandwich AND a big 'ol sweet tea during our June trip. Maybe more than one sweet tea!!! Thanks so much for posting about the tea that's great news!! :thumbsup2

Dreamfinder, what part of Alabama?????

I have a minor question for you.

Last May, CHH seemed to close before 5pm. What are the current opening hours? Does anyone have them?

Perhaps we were just unlucky with our days, we just missed out. We are back next month and we are determined to find an open CHH.

The mere discussion of chowder, tea and sandwiches is making me drool.:)

Thank you.

CHH is great and I think very underrated! The Anchors Aweigh sandwich is so delicious. Very fresh and I like that they have a nice variety of options. We are planning on trying the Lighthouse Sandwich in May. CHH is my favourite MK CS!
