Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

I loved the old Elitches, it still isn't the same....but I love the addition of the water park!

You are right it's not the same but at least the workers are happier, which makes for a happier park.

Has anybody been to Lakeside lately...my husband has been making noises about wanting to go. It's never been on my must go to list.

My coworker just got back from there. He said they are definitely in need of some renovating and that a lot of the rides were old and either broken down or closed.

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this. We ended up using it yesterday and it really is a great deal! It was a beautiful day for Water World despite the forecast for overcast skies and rain. We didn't see any dark clouds until 5pm and it never rained on us. We were there right up to closing.

hehehe you all were in my neck of the woods, I can walk to water world if I wanted to. I get residence rates of $15 for day or $7.50 after 2pm..whoo hoooooo. Was there on Sunday afternoon.

Haven't been to Lakeside in years. Would make me a little nervous wondering how safe it really is.

Nice prices for water world, foolishmortal!

So can you get guests in for that price? ;) :rotfl:

Tammy walked down the aisle at our wedding to "Tammy's In Love" by Debbie Reynolds. It was years after that before I finally saw Tammy and the Bachelor.

That is so cool!! I was just at Best Buy the other day wondering if I could get any of those movies. None on the shelve. I will have to look online I guess.

Tammy and Alex headed to Elitch's today with her mom and it was so crowded that they never even parked the car, just turned around and made other plans on the fly. Must be the last hurrah for everyone heading back to school soon.

I'm glad you had fun! I don't think we will ever have such luck as we did that day with low crowds. It was such a great outing for us!

We are back from our long road trip, and missed all the hot weather. :cool1: It was mild through New York and Illinois. Other than the $$$ for gas, we really had a great time. Felt like we had to do that big family road trip once before our oldest gets a job, car, etc. and doesn't want to go. We really had a great time - loved Niagara Falls, Cooperstown, and a nice family reunion in Rockford, IL.

Nothing beats Colorado though - we are so lucky to live here!

I hope Alex wasn't too disappointed!

Welcome back ColoradoMom. Missed your post when I last posted. Can't believe you missed the hot weather! I think it was wonderful for you to take that family trip. The kids will remember it! Our kids loved our road trips.

Nope. They've been so many times already this year that he'd have been more disappointed at waiting in longer lines than he is used to.

We had him out riding a ten-speed for the first time yesterday and, of course, it started raining as soon as we went out and stopped as soon as we quit.

Ted went out bike riding as well. Immediately after getting home after a 16 mile ride, the clouds opened up. What luck!

We had a great time in Denver over the weekend. Friday we went to Water World for the first time and loved it. Saturday we were at the Scottish Highland games and festival-I thought that was awesome, kids loved the dogs they want an Irish wolfhound,Bullmastiff or a newfoundland. Did some shopping at park meadows and Colorado mills. Ate at Casa Bonitas, and The elephant bar-that was good.

Cant wait for next summer

Sounds like you had a pretty good time. You certainly kept yourself busy!

When i go away for the weekend im go go go go! There is not alot of time for a lot of stuff. Our 3yr old was a trooper, fell asleep in the stroller at park meadows. He had a great time. He didnt understand build a bear it was his first time there he got a dino, which he named Dino Burr. I swear that boy had to pee every 10min, i blame it on the altitude. The other kids were helping him out.

We love going to Denver and the Springs.:lovestruc

almburr, we took our 3 year old twin grandkids to Build a Bear for their birthday. We all had fun! Dino Burr, cute. Joey named her puppy, Puppy and Tyler named his bear, Bear. We have very creative grandkids!
