Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

I agree about the lockdowns. Does make a parent feel like their kids are safer

Good Morning!

Getting ready to go to water aerobics. Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

I can't remember who is doing the water boat races but good luck and kick some hubby butt!!:thumbsup2

Wow quiet thread. 4 out of the last 5 posts have been mine beginning to think I spend to much time on the Disboards!

I am also interested in hearing how the race went at Sloan's Lake. My work had a team but haven't heard yet on their status either.

That's what I was coming back for. Fizzgig, how did it go? I really wanted to come down, but didn't make it. Sounds like a fun weekend.

Stay cool and hydrated this weekend, next few days are going to be in the 100!!!

Doh! Sorry, guys!

Our teams made it to the semi-finals, but that heat was a KILLER. The races on Sunday lasted until 8 PM!!! We were out by 4 pm on Sunday, and I was so tired and worn out I just went home, not stopping for Royal Tea with bobas or to do any shopping.

I don't plan on being out in that oven for several weekends! :rotfl:

Thanks for the update Fizzgig!

Hey where is everyone??

School starts tomorrow for our district. When does the Denver schools start?

Ours start (Littleton Public) on the 18th or 19th, depending on your grade. Marching band started yesterday....a 9 to 9 today and Thursday. I am in charge of feeding the masses at dinner time:rotfl:

I can't wait to see all the kids and parents again...my social circle expands during marching band season...I think I may need a life;)

We just went to Waterworld today! Haven't been there in ages. Both my boys were saying how much more they liked it than Elitch's. It is cleaner, that's for sure! And you can tote in a complete 5 course meal if you want -I like that!

King Soopers has a great deal for $109 = 4 adult tickets, 4 personal pizza's and 4 bottled pepsi's.
Today wasn't crowded either - so that helped!

Have fun on your trip here in August!
Just wanted to say thanks for posting this. We ended up using it yesterday and it really is a great deal! It was a beautiful day for Water World despite the forecast for overcast skies and rain. We didn't see any dark clouds until 5pm and it never rained on us. We were there right up to closing.

How were the crowds? I was suppose to go today, but couldn't get work off.

The other day I was watching the Benny Goodman story ( I love old old movies) Based on his life. Steve Allen and Donna Reed stared in it. I about fell off the couch when he was booked in Denver at Elitch Gardens! I knew the old Elitches has been around a while but when was he playing in the late 40ies????

I followed that movie up with The Glenn Miller story with Jimmy Stewart.

I know I am kind of weird but I love old movies and especially musicals!

I remember when I was growing up we went to Elitches with my Dad's work every summer. The old Elitches was so pretty.

Since it was my first visit, I couldn't say relative to other days at Water World but I can say that we felt like we were waiting in line more than we had last week at the Elitch's water park. Elitch's feels more crowded because it is smaller but the lines seemed to move more quickly.

The Elitch Theater opened in 1892 and hosted some of the biggest names in show biz back in the day.

Barb, I love old musicals and movies, too. My favorites are westerns and old Tammy movies and Doris Day movies. Guess we both are weird then. I remember how pretty Elitches use to be and that they had SHADE!! My MIL use to talk about those old concerts/dances.

My mom saw the Monkees (I think) there.

I, also, love the old movies (espescially musicals).

I miss Elitch's of old, and am glad that it at least is starting to feel like it's going back that way. Six Flags owning Elitch's was a BAD thing!!

Elitchs and Six Flags....not a good merge!

Tammy walked down the aisle at our wedding to "Tammy's In Love" by Debbie Reynolds. It was years after that before I finally saw Tammy and the Bachelor.

I saw The Monkees at Six Flags in NJ during their first reunion tour when I was in HS.
