Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

This is an awesome thread! It's so cool to be able to chat with people who have a clue about what you are talking about. I can't believe how it took off though. There are a lot of us out there!!

I can't believe it either.....I had no clue how many talkative Coloradoans on the DIS:rotfl:

Good morning everyone. Yesterday was so beautiful and I really have Spring Fever now. But just wait, it looks like Monday we might get a lot of snow. Happy Wednesday!

I'm TIRED of winter!!! Let's commence with Spring. I don't want to go straight to hot....just enough continuous warmth to get the chill out of my bones :) Happy Wednesday to you as well Pooh!

Boy this thread has taken off! I checked in Sunday night for a couple hours and it was just me-- and BOOM! Denver wakes up!

We are going to WDW April 26-May 5 and are staying at OKW & ASMO. We're starting to get very pumped!

We're Colorado transplants from Wyoming. It seems that's where we end up after college is down south.

Good Morning!! There really ARE a lot of talkative Coloradans on here. ;)

The days have been so nice, but I'm glad I took my ski jacket to DS's lacrosse game out at Cherokee Trail last night. It was very chilly by half time!! Today is supposed to be near 60 today, but like Heidi said, our weather unfortunately will turn colder sometime around the weekend. :surfweb:

Speaking of restaurants, if you like Vietnamese cuisine, the New Saigon restaurant on Federal is WONDERFUL.

Have a great day, all. Unfortunately work gets in the way of chatting! :lmao:

Good Morning!!

It was a bit chillier walking to work today....I just hope that it stays fairly warm through Saturday afternoon...not too warm because that's hard on the marching kids but not too cold either. What I want is Goldilocks weather. :goodvibes

Since we are talking food where does everybody like getting their pizza from that isn't a national chain??

We like Frank the Pizza King on Broadway. It isn't what I'm used to from growing up in the northeast, but it is really good with quality ingredients.

Downtown I like pizza from Mici.

pizza?? hmmm I love Abo's. If not there, I know you said no chain but uno's...mmmmmmmmmmmmm

We like Frank's also. Haven't tried the others.....hmmm...pizza hunting sounds like a good thing:goodvibes

We also like Romano's on Windermere and Littleton Blvd. I hardly ever get out of Littleton:lmao:

Boy, you guys took off yesterday. I didn't realize we had so many Coloradans on the boards. I think I am caught up now. :)

Can't help with the sushi, I don't eat it. Can't help with downtown restaurants, I work in Lonetree at an infertility clinic.

I need pizza ideas too. I am really over pizza right now and I think it is because I am tired of the chains.

Babytrees, I hope it is warm for the marchers too. I am a former band geek and it is really hard to march when it is freezing outside. :)

Good day everyone! I was telling DH about all of you and your super recommendations. :goodvibes Love it! Thanks Msslaydbug for getting us all together!!! :cheer2:

Hi All,

We are just outside of Boulder.

We just got back from WDW/Universal late last night.

DD had a cheerleading competition in WDW, so we stayed a couple of nights in the required team hotel at Disney while the rest of our family stayed in the Portofino at Universal. (They don't do Disney). We joined them at Universal as soon as we were released from "cheer time."

Sandy V - I could ride MIB over and over and over again too. My ideal vacation - a few MIBs, wander over and throw in a Mummy or two and a Horror Make-up Show and then back to MIB.

You're my kind of person. :thumbsup2 I feel like a junkie sometimes when it comes to that ride!! Very habit forming. ;)

Unfortunately I don't have any outstanding pizza recommendations. I stop by Little Caesars on my way home for the $5 pepperoni pizza! I like the green pizza from Nick and Willy's and from the Cheesecake Factory! There is a good pizza place in Green Mountain that is called Front Room. I don't eat the pizza there because I love their calzones!

We also like Romano's on Windermere and Littleton Blvd. I hardly ever get out of Littleton:lmao:
Oh yeah...we love Romano's! Great homemade pasta & great meatballs. Have you tried Simply Thai a bit further east on Littleton Blvd.?

Also, as far as pizza places, there is a place called Armando's that is off Hampden just west of University that is really good for pizza, calzones and even cannolis. If you are in the neighborhood of Holly and Evans, there is a place called Pantaleone's that has the biggest pizza I have ever seen. They must special order the boxes because they are about 25-30% larger than your standard large pizza box and the pizza still barely fits in it.

I just remembered a good pizza place that we haven't been to in years. The Edgewater Inn. It is a small place I think off of Sheridan across from Sloan's lake. We used to go there when we live a little further north.

Another one checking in from Colorado Springs! You can see by my post count I am much more of a lurker than a poster.

:wave2: to all my fellow Colorado dissers!

Great little hole-in-the wall pizza....

Original Pizza on Main street in Broomfield.

Owners are Italian immigrants who moved to Colorado after a long stint in Brooklyn. They still all speak Italian in the kitchen. The pizza is the best of both worlds - Italian and NY style. Having grown up in NJ, this is the closest pizza to my childhood ideals that we have found in the North Denver area.
