Coleman Pop up question

I have a mid 80s Coleman Sequioa Pop up with the breathable canvas weave material. They say it breathes very well, does that mean the air conditioning will be harder to keep in too? I am wondering if I should put a tarp over the top or pull-out roofs at least, which are vinyl, to keep the sun's rays from warming it up, or will the "breathable Canvas" defeat that? I have one of the new portable air conditioners I am putting in, 9000 BTUs. Any thoughts on if I should do anything else for the warm June days? :confused3

9.000 BTUs is a little small for a pop up in the Florida summer heat. The normal RV A/C is 13,500 BTUs and I opted for the 15,000 BTU model.

Tarps are really not going to help, most are in brown or blue which will capture and hold the heat. What you want is a set of PopupGizmos Custom Sized Solar Bunkend Covers. They were created by a pop up camper in Texas to keep the heat down. I have used them for years on both of my pop ups and can attest that they work great! You send the make/model of your pop up and he has custom sizes for your exact bunk ends.

Another good idea is a Fantastic Vent Endless Breeze 12" Fan. This fan really moves the air!

I second the notion of some sort of reflective mylar bunkend cover. They really do a good job keeping the heat down. If you don't use them, you can scorch in the bunk ends during the day even with the AC on full blast.

By the way... Tim5055 I'm right up the road from you in Canton, and was born in Marietta.

We have also used the silver emergency blankets on top of the bunks and that does reduce the heat, the pop up gizmo do work very well.
