Coffee drinkers, help me out.

I am a gimmecoffeewhenIimmediatelywakeuporIwillruinallofyourdaysandmakeyouallmiserable kind of person. I bring my own coffee maker, filters, and ground coffee. I pack it in my checked bag.

I am so relived that someone else posted this before me! :lmao: While this is our first trip to Disney, we travel extensively and, since I can't depend on every hotel to have an in-room coffee maker (or that, if one IS there it will work well!), at some point a couple of years ago, I started bringing my own. So, that's what I intend do do when we visit WDW in December, as we're staying at POP and it's my understanding that the value resorts don't have coffee makers in the standard rooms.

I had no idea that taking coffee on buses was a no-no. I took tea with me every. single. day. whether we rode the bus or the boat to MK (from WL). no one ever said anything to me about it.

I always used the disposable cups from the QS in my hotel, and I remember others having their refillable mugs with them. (DH asked why I didn't have mine, and I said because I didn't want to carry it around all day after I was done with the drink - we don't carry a backpack, just my small travel purse.)

I agree with others... your friend could bring VIA or a french press and ground coffee and make in-room with hot water from food court/QS place in hotel, or running hot water through in-room coffee machine.

I always take my refillable mug with coffee in it on the bus. No one has ever said anything to me in the last 10 years (going about once a year sometimes twice). I typically go to food court on my way to the bus, grab a coffee, and go.

Here's the thing with the coffee...unless you or Disney is using bottled water the coffee will taste funny. It's the water. I always make my coffee there using bottled water.

Good to know!

I have what is probably a dumb question. As a coffee drinker (anyone chime in on this) how do you manage getting your morning fix with the need to be getting in lines. We're planning to rope drop. I'm just envisioning getting stuck in a Starbucks line or having to wait a bit to start doing anything because we've just purchased a coffee. Ideally, she'd be able to have it while we were waiting for rope drop but that doesn't seem likely.

Come to the dark side!

Seriously, one of the BEST perks of staying concierge level is the push button latte/espresso/cappuccino machines!

With refillable mugs, it is not JUST the coffee that's the problem, it's the fake creamer! Eww! Last time we tried refillable mugs, they did not have real milk or real cream. not even half n half. Just the fake stuff.

I've done it all: A.)the coffeemaker in the room, again same problem- you need milk. The in-room fridge is barely cold. It doesn't really keep milk at a safe temp. so you end up buying milk each day...
B.) the latte en-route, you end up standing in line or drinking very HOT coffee while you are entering the parks. While everyone else is trying to get on the first ride of the AM.
c.) the urn coffee eek!

the line at the MK Starbuscks is huge in the AM. not onlyu that, but beyond coffee, they pretty much have muffins and the like.

If you are stayingat a value, then concierge is pretty pricey. If youa re staying at a deluxe, then the upgrade to club level may not be that bad- especially if you get a decent discount and have four people per room.

Club level gives you unlimted lattes, a continental style breakfast (unlimited fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, drinks cereal), after noon snacks, beer, wine and cordials (at night), afternoon snacks, appetizers and soft drinks all day. It opens at 7am and goes until 10pm.

I would personally ALMOST do it just for the latttes....but the true benefit comes form the fact that breakfast has no lines, and no l-o-n-g h-i-k-e over to the food court. (at many resorts, walking to the food court is 10minutes each way) Plus you save time checking in and get a few other small benefits.

Have all the resorts food courts been switched over to Joffrey's by now?

We perk some strong coffee in our 20 cup camping pot and everyone carries their own screw lidded Lexan style container. DH only has sugar in his, me and DD's have half and half and sugar in ours.
We each carry a few $10 Starbucks cards as well. A $50 pack of 5 at BJ's cost $47 so there's a little discount.

And we also carry a few of those energy/flavored powder packets to use later on with the containers when the coffee is gone.

:)
Hope this helps,
Have fun,

Oops, almost forgot to mention that the Starbucks brand instant packets are pretty strong. They come in 4 packs and just need a cup of hot water and some form of sweetener and milk. DH has a few in his belt pouch, with honey packets and a few half and half creamers from the truck stop. They taste strong AND give you a caffeine kick that you can feel, IMO.

I admit to not having reading through all 4 pages so I apologize if this is a repeat of anything previously posted.

I am a coffee drinker and lover :coffee:, and I have no problems getting my fix in the resort or the parks! In fact, I almost always have my morning coffee with the to-go lid with me on the bus on our way to the parks. I have never been told this was a no-no and have had zero issues doing this. I have also entered the park with my coffee, again with no issues. I was pleasantly surprised with the coffee earlier this month on our stay at CSR (and the fact that they offer french vanilla creamer as well as the original now, too!!) compared to prior visits. I definitely like the change! I would not worry to much about it at all :thumbsup2

I will agree with the majority (I know, weird, right?) and say Joffrey's. Their coffee was really good! I was pleasantly surprised! I LOVED the Starring Rolls coffee even more though! Mmmmm!! Their flavors didn't taste like sugar-free syrup either like some syrups do...it was actually delicious! :)

Other than the previous stated Starbucks locations, there is a Dunkin Donuts at the Car Care Center by the MK. When staying at a MK resort which is usually never, I would drive there every day...LOL... i kno i know. Bu the NesCrappe was just terrible

I didn't find the in room pods too delicious. However, we happened to have an early (1st adr) at Rainforest Cafe at AK and their coffee was so good. Just in case anybody was headed that way...

I bring disposable cups (when I'm staying at a resort with a coffee maker) and those Starbucks instant coffee pouches. I have always brought my coffee on the bus and it's never been a problem.

I haven't found good convenient coffee at Disney. The coffee in the resorts quick service is horrible Nescafe instant.

I'm a coffee snob and I won't waste early park time (where there are short lines for rides) in line at Starbucks - and I wouldn't actually make it to the parks without a cup when I wake up.

I ordered these (They work in the rooms coffee makers) and they taste much better than what is in the rooms. We drink a cup in the room, then fill our travel mugs and take them on the buses.

Starbucks Via is also ok for emergencies and still better than the hotel coffee or the hotel provided coffee pods.

We drive and stay offsite, so we always bring our Keurig Mini and some disposable travel cups. There are coffee kiosks outside the Epcot gates and at the TTC, so your friend can get a second cup if needed. The Joffrey's is pretty good, but I think DH is the only person who preferred the Nescafe!

Actually, the coffee is now Joffrey's across property except for the Starbuck's locations. It is much better than Nescafé!

We always bring coffee with us on the bus. No one has ever said a word to us about it. We bring our own coffee and filters and buy cream and disposable cups with lids once we're in Orlando.

My first cup is Joffrey's coffee made in the room using French Vanilla Cream that I take from home in tiny containers. I use a disposable cup with cover and take it with me on the bus. In the last 15 years I have never once been told by a bus driver that I couldn't take my coffee on the bus. That cup lasts me through the bus ride and rope drop.

Then about mid-morning, I have been getting a second cup from either Starbucks or a Joffrey's kiosk in the park. Starbucks' lines looks intimidating at first glance, but they really move quite quickly.

The coffee options have dramatically improved in the past few years!

I can't get out of my room without a cup inside me, then one on the way to the park as well.

We always get a refillable mug and i take mine with me...
