Codes/packages For April/may 2009

I would love to be in a Disney hotel, but unless some really incredible deal comes out, it is looking like I will be staying at the Hilton on reward points for free.

I love free, but I really like being able to use Disney buses for all of my on site travel.
Hope that you get a code, but just so you know, you can use the Disney buses to go from park to park, even if you aren't staying on property.:)

My cousin and her family (3 girls) will be joining my son and I on our Easter trip.

My cousin and her kids have never been.:yay:

I've booked the deluxe dining plan at POP for my son and I. I have to call later today and book the other room.

Can anyone tell me how military discounts work? Are they only for the military family? Can they book more than one room? Can the discount be used at Disney owned hotels? Can you add the dining plan to a military discount?

I know it's too early to know if a discount will be offered, I'm just trying to get an idea of what rules to expect.

Oh, my cousin's husband was in the military. He was killed in a motorcycle accident last June. They always wanted to take the girls to WDW, but kept putting it off.

I want to make the trip as special as I can.

Sorry for rambling.:flower3:

So sorry about your cousin's husband. :grouphug: I am not sure how the military discount works but I was under the impression that you can only stay at shades of green for the discount.

I don't have enough posts yet to send a pm, if you would mind kicking me a note I would appreciate it. We are going April 27th to May 3.

Thanks!

Mind if I join?:wave2: We were going to go this Christmas but got scared off by the crowd levels. We'll be going to a wedding May 9 in West Palm Beach so we'll fly down there, rent a car, drive to Disney after the wedding and then play there for the rest of the week. It'll be myself, dh, and 2 kids, Julia, 7 (by then--ack!!) and Jack 3 (nearly 4 by then. Another ack!!!) I'm debating making room only ressies now or waiting till October for a deal (fingers crossed!!) Last Dec. we were able to take advantage of the 40%code and splurged on the CR. This time though we'll be hunkering down at either Pop or ASMo. Can't wait!!!

I saw this for the first time on Mouse Savers today, and was wondering if anyone has ever done free dining in the fall"?
"?Disney Visa October-December FREE Dining Package
Disney Rewards® Visa® Cardholders can get FREE Dining AND in some cases, a room discount when you book a full price Walt Disney World vacation package for check-ins most nights 9/28/08-10/11/08, 11/9/08-11/22/08, 12/14/08-12/20/08. FREE Dining has never been offered during this time period in the past, and never with a room discount, so this is a phenomenal offer!

Purchase a Magic Your Way package consisting of at least 3 consecutive hotel nights at an official Walt Disney World resort, plus at least 1-day Magic Your Way Base Ticket per person, and you will get the regular Dining Plan for FREE, for the length of your stay"

Was planning to do regular Free Dining when Visa code comes out in April, but would have to take Grandson out of school for that. He has 1st week of Oct off, and that's his BDay. Oct would be perfect!

Add me to the list also, I am hoping to go the first week of May and praying for some good discounts!!

Totally new to the board but getting lots of good info. Traveling to disney April 22-29--still hoping crowds and heat aren't too terrible. Could someone share thoughts on how warm it will probably be (we're from alaska and our summers are usually in the upper 60's)? I also wondered where to find out about crowd numbers at various parks so I can plan where to be. Any info on room discounts too--is there a list to be added to?
Thanks so much!

Good Morning everyone:flower3:

I have two quick questions before I head off to work.

Do you think they will release April park hours, parades, and firework times this week?

Can someone please explain how the new dining reservation system will work? Will the change impact our trips?

Thanks

Have a good day

I'm hoping that they come out this week. Would love to nail down our April schedule for EMH's and such! We can't make ressies until 10/24. Have seen a November date on the DIS, but I'm hoping that isn't the case. I think that as long as you call first thing on that day, you should be able to get your dining ressies. The problem will be that EVERYONE that is going in the spring before us will probably be calling to, so we will have to be patient. Good luck!:)

I hope that they release the April park hours this week because I would like to get out schedule down and plan our ADR's and times just like LVSWL said. I also agree that our ADR's can be made Oct. 24 unless you're not arriving at WDW until April 25th or later. Hope that helps a little :)

I don't know how consistant it is from month to month, but I was watching last month and the hours for March 2009 came on-line on September 10th (even thought March became available in the drop down earlier than that). So if they do things the same, looks like we might be waiting another week and a half or so.

I know. I hate having to rely on a resort shuttle to get to and from the parks each day.

Ok, I am brand spanking new to this site and I am still trying to figure out all the acronyms let alone decifer some of the information being given. So, for all those who have the time and patience, could you please explain what the disney visa does for discounts, what is the "free" meal plan, and a brief tutorial on the discount codes would be awesome. I know this is asking for a lot, but lordy there appers to be a lot of very knowledgeable people on this tread and I need the help!!
