Ok, I am brand spanking new to this site and I am still trying to figure out all the acronyms let alone decifer some of the information being given. So, for all those who have the time and patience, could you please explain what the disney visa does for discounts, what is the "free" meal plan, and a brief tutorial on the discount codes would be awesome. I know this is asking for a lot, but lordy there appers to be a lot of very knowledgeable people on this tread and I need the help!!

Welcome and here is a bit of info.
People who have a Disney Visa card from Chase have been getting some offers for discounts lately. The latest has been an offer to get the disney dining plan for free. The dining plan is an add on to a package that gives you a certain number of meals per day for each person in the room. I think it costs about 40 dollars a day for anyone over 9 years of age. So, if you have a disney visa card and are making a reservation for the dates where the discount is available you can get the dining plan for free.
Disney has offered this free dining plan at times to the general public, usually at the end of Aug through much of September, hurricane season.
As for other discounts, if you are a AAA member you can get a 10-20 percent discount on a room depending on the time of year and the resort you are staying at. You can get this on a room only reservation by calling disney directly.If you want the AAA discount on a package, you need to book it with a AAA travel agent.
There seem to be many other kinds of discounts available through out the year. Read posts here as much as you can and hopefully you will find some information to help.

I saw that too yesterday and was sooooo excited then I saw it said unavailable. I just can't hold out too much longer.
Also I hope they add the Princess & Pirate Party dates soon too. I would just love to know if they are having it when we will be there.

How can I tell when a park has Extra Magic hours listed, if it's morning or evening EMH? On the EMH page, they don't have April listed yet. Any other place to find this?

YAY HOURS! EMH are just listed on the website, shouldnt be too long now. last year I called and a CM gave them to me early for Feb but I dont know about now

Howdy doody to you all! I am new to the boards and am learning so much. Am taking my 6 year old daughter to DW May 3rd - 9th. We have been to DL once for 3 days and loved it and are SO EXCITED for this trip. She is on the verge of loosing "The Magic" and we need a refresher couse! I am hoping for a code on a package of room and dining. And a flight from Salt Lake City, goodness flights have gone up!

So I have to call Disney to use a code right? I have the Visa card and am hoping something will come through with it. And dining can be booked 6 months in advance? And, if I book a room now can I apply the code later when it is released and have the cost brought down? Thanks for any replies!

Congratulations on the upcoming trip with your DD! You do have to call Disney to use a code, I too have the Visa card and would LOVE for a code to come out. Dining can be booked 6 months in advance however right now they are doing an upgrade to the reservations system...I heard some restaurants are done with their upgrade though so your best bet would be to call and see what you can get on your 6 month day. If you book the room now you can call and have Disney apply the code you find to lower your price. Hope that helps!!
