I used to have an obsessive fright against wasps and bees. When we camped I jumped into the car if one came by. Eek.
Then I got pregnant with twins and just realized that there was no way I was going to pass this onto my kids. If my mom could quit smoking, I could face my fear. I did and now there is not even a thought that bugs are yucky.
Spiders? God bless them ... they eat others bugs. And it could be Charlotte!

Turns out the bats were taking care of the bugs for us.
I'm sorry your vacation started out so badly. Unfortunately, you ran into 2 problems that are very difficult to avoid. 1. Florida, (and most of the south for that matter,) have bugs. Its part of the trade off for the great weather. If I saw one or two, they probably would have to die,
but that would be O.K.
While Im sure Disney has a pest control schedule, they can't spray every room every time it is turned over. (Just imagine the respiratory difficulties, and other health problems that would cause.)
