I am not a runner by a long shot, but my DH is. He ran the Goofy this year. If you need any tips, let me know. Also, coolrunning.com has a great couch-to-5k program that could help you get started.

I'm hoping to run it, too, but only if I can get my dad or my brother-in-law to join me!

I just ran my first half marathon (The Virginia Beach Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon) last Fall, and both participated with me! Wouldn't it be cool if there were a few of us from this thread at the Disney Half Marathon?

I'm so glad you got it today....they should be arriving to all who made a request either today, tomorrow, or Saturday! I'm guessing the postage was correct...always my fear of too little postage! Enjoy the pins!

We went to Hershey Park when I felt like I would fit....but I still wasn't sure. I was on line and my son (sweetest 11 yo ever) says, "It's okay Mommy, you'll fit and even if you don't you are still doing SO well....don't let it bother you!"

The avatars are coming--sorry! I've been working anywhere from 9 to 11 hours a day at my "real job" this week. Hopefully things lighten up a little so I can spend some time with my family AND get avatars finished this weekend!

Hey DISgeeks! My wife and I ran the Neptune 8K in 2006, I believe.
We had a lot of fun. We'd have a blast running in WDW! That would be amazing! We'd definitely need to train for a half... 8k (aka 5miles) is easy, as long as we're not trying to win.

You runners should go for it! I cannot imagine doing a whole, half, quarter or even 16th Marathon, since I hate to run....however, if I had to pick a place to do it, Disney would be it!

Ann -- your story of the ride at Hershey where everyone clapped for you is wonderful! What a strong person you are to stick to your goal! We're going to Hershey late spring or fall and I can't wait! Gotta love Chocolate World!

It was so the BEST DAY EVER!!!!!!!! So the Disney incentive trip, as you can guess, means everything to me!!! I ran them all ragged at the parks the last time we were there, literally ran, from ride to ride to attraction to ride and back again!!! I cannot wait to go back and celebrate the next part of my journey.

Hello everyone. Cal talked me into coming out of lurking. I knew about the CMO and encouraged my DH to apply, but he didn't. I didn't get a chance to follow the original thread, so I don't know many of you (yet) as well as you know yourselves and each other....

...I have to credit (blame? ) Cal for roping me in. First with her goldendoodle, Trixie (what a doll), then with her video, which I linked through from her signature, then her response to my comment over there, essentially telling me to get my but "out" here!!

YEA!...I was just going to call you out!!!!! Welcome!!!! And thanks for the nice words about Trixie.... she is available today at a bargain price, I found her chewing my favorite plant this morning... At least she is over the "baseboards for lunch" and "kitchen chairs for dinner" phase.

As Annual Passholders, an email came in and said "quick! schedule your Dream Suite tour, limited time only" and this page required your passholder ID number, which I have memorized... A congratulatory email came through next...sweet...

Uh oh. We have two goldens. Magic (in the avatar) is now 9 and white-faced. She did the "window sills for breakfast", "baseboards for lunch" and "kitchen chairs for dinner" phase. I kid you not. While Trixie at a bargain sounds fabulous, I have my hands full with our adoptee/rescue Harry, whose choice snack is sofa pillows. I keep telling him dogs are supposed to be adults at age 2, but he doesn't believe me. He is like Peter Pan - doesn't want to grow up.

Girl Scout Cookies - I have (well had) a freezer full. I think I bought 30 boxes this year of caramel delights, thin mints, and Thank Yous. I "hid" them from my DD15 in our outside refrigerator/freezer and threatened her with her firstborn child if she devours them all by June, but that doesn't seem to be working.

I seem to always be on a diet during GS Cookie/Valentine's/chocolate covered strawberry season. Because I am an accountant and it is tax season and I'm inside working > 60 hours a week. So GS cookies are my cheat/treat.

ACCKK! The wonderous forecast for enormous amounts of snow has been cancelled and moved east. We got another 1/2". We're going to do the best with what we've gotten and we're making what we can of it right now. I'll pictures of the creation in the morning.

Why EAST? Arkansas already got 1 foot this week!

Let's hear it for the U.S. Mail! Those things made it to Iowa, Oklahoma and Northern Virginia in two days! That's pretty good.

I should be thanking you guys for still wanting them. It made me feel good to see the envelopes ready to go. I'm really glad you guys like them.
