You're just awesome Ann!!! :cheer2:

Ann - congrats on the super weight loss accomplishment!

Wow, Ann! (What a great, inspirational story!) ... No wonder that radio promotions guy felt so bad and sent you a gift when his station pulled out of the Family Game Day contest! (I remember you mentioned his comment that you had such a great back-story...) Way to go! :thumbsup2 You should be very proud of yourself!

Congrats on the amazing story Ann!

Ann you are truly an inspiration!

Ann -- your story of the ride at Hershey where everyone clapped for you is wonderful! What a strong person you are to stick to your goal! We're going to Hershey late spring or fall and I can't wait! Gotta love Chocolate World!

Right back atcha, Ann!!! :grouphug: That was a very touching story...

WOW!!! You all MADE my night....thanks for reminding me of how far I have come!!! The support here is beyond belief! Again, humble and sincere thanks (especially nice reading this after coming back from the Y) :grouphug:

Short description of today's activities:
Vote for Ziggy. Check.
Vote for CMO. Check.
Listen to Inside the Magic Podcast while eating breakfast. Check.
Work. Check.
So then I got home...
to find that my super cool pin package arrived today. They are splendiferous.
I went on a little pin binge on ebay to sooth the disappointment of not advancing in the contest, and this is the coolest pin of all.

Ann - you rock. That kind of change takes incredible strength and discipline.
Cat - great avatar!
swwake - welcome to you, and your cute doggies too.
Kenny - sorry for the snow disappointment.
Justin - what are you doing to advertise yourself in your home town?
CalDisneyFamily - I've been flipping back and forth through these pages like crazy! Even then I'm afraid I've missed something.

Looking forward to the DISbates.

Now I'm off to learn a new Cancan for some upcoming shows.

Have a great night all, see you tomorrow.

ACCKK! The wonderous forecast for enormous amounts of snow has been cancelled and moved east. We got another 1/2". We're going to do the best with what we've gotten and we're making what we can of it right now. I'll pictures of the creation in the morning

Looking forward to seeing your next magical creation!:thumbsup2

Ann, what do you think of the Disney half marathon that got brought up today? I've NEVER done anything like that, but I've been thinking all day about how awesome it would be! It's not till Jan. 09, so we've got time! And like DISgeeks said, how cool would it be if some of us from here got to do it?!! You're on the way to it already, with a great head start!

I watched some stuff on youtube about it, and you get to finish up on Main Street and go through the castle!

Let's hear it for the U.S. Mail! Those things made it to Iowa, Oklahoma and Northern Virginia in two days! That's pretty good.

I should be thanking you guys for still wanting them. It made me feel good to see the envelopes ready to go. I'm really glad you guys like them.

Well it definitely holds it's own alongside all those sponsor pins! They really are pretty sleek and official looking and I love the special packaging and bonus inserts! I haven't gotten the guys' to them yet, but I promise to be good and share! Make sure you thank Mrs. Fleagle!

Thought I'd give you guys a little in process photo display of our new snowy. We're doing our version of Sleeping Beauty Castle. I think it's turning out pretty well. My son and daughter said "I think Walt would have been proud of our work."

Here's a couple of photos. Sorry it's so dirty looking, but 1/2" of snow isn't much to work with.

I agree with your kids Kenny! What a statement coming from little ones! I'm glad you finally got some snow, we didn't. I thought maybe you were talking to the snow and summoning it down your way. Can't wait to see the castle in its final glory!

You are absolutely more than welcome...... It really felt good to send them to our "friends". Thank you all for being so nice, and fun, and thoughtful, and funny, and supportive.

I got my pins too!!! Thank you SO much. The whole package was a wonderful surprise today in the mail.

You'd better believe that pin will be with me on every trip I take to Disney!

Just an update on things on my end - since I know I've been at work SO much that I haven't really been able to check in that often.

I think things are going well with the CMO votes even though we can't see a running tally. Honestly, right now I'm not really concerned about the number of votes, I'm concerned about all of the relationships, friendships, moments of laughter, funny stories, and such that have developed. My local community and all of my friends from high school, college, church, and elsewhere have been so unbelievably supportive. That is what is making this such a neat experience for me. To be thought of, supported by, laughed at (with?), and voted for by people who also take the time to make calls, send emails, and write notes saying the most flattering and humbling things is more than I could have asked for.

.....this just in......the pins made it to California......hooray!!!!

Thanks Fleagle fam...We really enjoyed your note/pics/pin...wow!!!

Uh oh. We have two goldens. Magic (in the avatar) is now 9 and white-faced. She did the "window sills for breakfast", "baseboards for lunch" and "kitchen chairs for dinner" phase. I kid you not. While Trixie at a bargain sounds fabulous, I have my hands full with our adoptee/rescue Harry, whose choice snack is sofa pillows. I keep telling him dogs are supposed to be adults at age 2, but he doesn't believe me. He is like Peter Pan - doesn't want to grow up.

Girl Scout Cookies - I have (well had) a freezer full. I think I bought 30 boxes this year of caramel delights, thin mints, and Thank Yous. I "hid" them from my DD15 in our outside refrigerator/freezer and threatened her with her firstborn child if she devours them all by June, but that doesn't seem to be working.

I seem to always be on a diet during GS Cookie/Valentine's/chocolate covered strawberry season. Because I am an accountant and it is tax season and I'm inside working > 60 hours a week. So GS cookies are my cheat/treat.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes! (I'm not doing a very good job at lurking so far, am I?)

You're doing great!!! Just wish all of the lurkers would come out from hiding....

Magic - What a great name!!!!! I was trying to talk DH into a "Norton" for Trixie, but it must not be another puppy...maybe a bird?

Some brief anecdotal reports I've heard include:

- A business teacher at a high school in southern NY used my video and the entire contest this week in her lesson plans as she taught her business classes about advertising.

- A high school librarian was at one point requiring a 20-vote minimum for all students wishing to use the computers during Study Hall

- I got an email from a friend of a friends, friends, husband (something like that) who was voting on his iPhone in the back of a cab in Manhattan.

- My fifth grade teacher (who is now living in Palm Springs) has had her entire Retirement Village voting

- The church at which I work also has a preschool with about 400 families. The preschool director printed up flyers to go home with every family and when I showed up to my office on Monday she had the secretaries and the entire staff wearing "Vote for Justin" stickers

- In another thread here on the DISboards I met a dad who is a real estate agent in my home town. His kids have my mom as one of their teachers in school and he was pumped to hear about the contest. He wrote a blurb about it in his e-newsletter that goes out to over 500 of his clients in our town.

Anyway, I certainly don't want to bore you, but the process has been pretty exciting for only being 5 days along. I actually got 'recognized' at a local pizza place on Tuesday when I was standing at the buffet trying to decide between the salad and the meatballs (went with the salad, by the way!). A gentleman walked up, shook my hand, and said "I think I just voted for you right before I came to lunch today." It was pretty surreal!

It has been a thrill to vote for you. ...Just hope we can make a difference!!!! Keep it up, Justin!!! I think I will go and put in a few more right now!!!!

Goodnight everyone!!!

Goodnight everyone!!!

Trust me, you are ALL making a difference. I would be so thrilled and proud to represent you guys in this position. But right now the most incredible thing is what you all have done for me. I can't tell you the last time I felt this way!

Sorry for monopolizing this page of the thread guys!

Big props to Kenny for the castle!

Thank you SO much to the Fleagles (and the US Postal Service) for the pins!

I'm checking out for the night!
Take care and see you all again tomorrow!

thanks Justin for sharing some of the CMO voting that's going on behind the scenes! I really like the "got to vote in order to use the computer!" one! That's great!

OK, off to vote for you guys and then bed.
