So, I will be back in 9.5 lbs!!! :cheer2:

Congrats Ann! That is awesome for you. Really, I'm always amazed and inspired by people who set goals and stick to them (regardless of the added incentives like Disney!). Getting in shape was a Resolution for me for 2008 (as I believe it was for every year since 2002 - oops). I've hit a snag here lately as I've started to spend A LOT of time on the computer, but I'm convinced that I'm going to see this one through. Stories like yours certainly help keep me motivated!!

NEED SOME DISbate HELP!

If any of you have contact with any of the Top 10... get hold of them and tell them to get over here to let us know if they are in or out. (Sounds like a job for a Pirate!)

Also, PM me with any questions you'd like to have asked. Remember.. FUN. But also consider the perspective of WHY someone is the best choice.

I also need some quick questions for Trippy so we can get him set before he heads to Disney.

Thanks for taking the lead on this, Fleagle. You're still the man. I know a few pages back you expressed disappointment that none of the finalists stepped up to the plate to plan something. I'm so sorry for that! This idea, is obviously much better being planned by someone like you.

Hopefully for the next great event, Meggin, Tripp, myself, and any of the other finalists can put our heads together and host a function for all of you. I've got my wheels turning, so hopefully I can have something to reveal when I discuss my platform at the DISbate! :)

Where about in Texas? I've got it going on a line from Abilene to Dallas :yay:

Fleagle - Count me in! Let me know what you need me to do. :-)

KTP - See if you can't send some of that snow a bit further south...to my part of Texas! It's been years since we've had any snow. :-)

kenny, did you want a tour of careerbuilder? i could totally hook you up!

seriously, though, i occasionally have access to some wdw tickets (well, 1 or 2, i should say). when are you coming back down here?

LOL. I'm sure SPONSOR folks would be like, "What's he doing here!"
Not really sure when we'll get to make it back to FLA. I'll have to see what finances look like in the next few months.

"Here's Johnny!"

We have gotten a total of just over 1 inch in 2 years, so a big snowfall will be a lot of fun for the kids.

OK, first of all

Let's put this into perspective...here in the lovely heartland of Iowa we have been gifted with 55 inches of snow so far this winter. :scared1: Right now there is a 7 ft. drift in my back yard. Folks here are getting, well, weird....think Jack Nicholsen in the Shining :scared:

And did Tripp say he "had" to go to the sponsers park this weekend...oh how my heart bleeds for you ;)

And...HMF...did your spouse make a video for CMO...he looks very familiar to me, and those pics of Ohana made me want to jump off the weight watchers wagon! (14 down!!)

AND, a debate!! Hurrah! Since we were first in the nation with our caucus I have kind of missed the vote pandering!

Peace Out Alll!!!
and thanks for all the "Ziggy love" today...you can vote again tomorrow :thumbsup2

Man! I am further south and east...they say it's going to come maybe within 50 miles or so of us, and then stop. :sad1: We will get rain, but that's about it.

I really want to play in the snow, but everytime I think about vacationing somewhere, I end up at a sponsor's park. And I don't care what THEY say: teeny tiny soap bubbles is just not the same! :)

Meggin, out of curiousity, how does one occasionally have access to some wdw tickets????? :confused3

When I hit 70 lbs lost (9.5 lbs away), my husband has offered a Disney World trip as an incentive to reach the goal.....initially my 'reason' for losing weight was to make sure I fit on all rides, immature, yes, but very, very real. So, I will be back in 9.5 lbs!!! :cheer2:

Anyhooooooooooo, any chance other DISers could score on these tickets too? :flower3:
Nothing immature about your reason for losing weight at all Ann! If anything I would consider you an inspiration, anyone that can drop weight, especially 70 pounds... that is incredible. I kept telling myself that once we came back from the "Sponsor" in January I would have 4 months before we went back down again. Enough time to get back on track and drop some weight. Well I failed miserably.... lol.

Thanks guys.....that REALLY meant a lot!!!

Since I am so short (5' 0"), I was basically a square when I started losing. I was at a local amusement park and tried the "dummy" seat for a ride (and I am THE ride rider of all time) --- and it wasn't looking good for me to fit. So I passed on the ride. My children are ride riders as well (husband - not so much), so, all of a sudden, I wasn't the 'cool' mom anymore. I wanted nothing more than to get on the highest biggest roller coaster with my children without a worry.

We went to Hershey Park when I felt like I would fit....but I still wasn't sure. I was on line and my son (sweetest 11 yo ever) says, "It's okay Mommy, you'll fit and even if you don't you are still doing SO well....don't let it bother you!"

Well, when I approached the seat, I was honestly nervous. I asked the ride attendant to just make sure it clicks. He looked at me funny and that made me even MORE nervous. It clicked!!! I started crying and the people on line around us actually clapped. The attendant said something like of course it would fasten! You see, I still "see" myself as 60.5 lbs heavier....that is hard to get used to, you know?

It was so the BEST DAY EVER!!!!!!!! So the Disney incentive trip, as you can guess, means everything to me!!! I ran them all ragged at the parks the last time we were there, literally ran, from ride to ride to attraction to ride and back again!!! I cannot wait to go back and celebrate the next part of my journey.

THANKS FOR LETTING ME SHARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! :grouphug:

Hello everyone. Cal talked me into coming out of lurking. I knew about the CMO and encouraged my DH to apply, but he didn't. I didn't get a chance to follow the original thread, so I don't know many of you (yet) as well as you know yourselves and each other.

I found you guys on Monday morning and have been a bonified lurker all week. I have watched all Top 10 videos (and have my favorite already, but I am learning more about these DISer candidates before voting).

I have to credit (blame? :) ) Cal for roping me in. First with her goldendoodle, Trixie (what a doll), then with her video, which I linked through from her signature, then her response to my comment over there, essentially telling me to get my but "out" here!!

So here I am - here just to lurk. You all are a fun group of people. Very animated. Just what "the sponsor" needs! What great ambassadors all of you make!

Speaking of that - I do have a question - Why do we refer to the sponsor all the time? Must be remnants from the previous thread.

My congrats and applause to all who auditioned, and greater congrats to those who are in the Top 10. Also congrats to those who were top 20 and barely missed it. You are all so graceful and still so energetic!

Ann - congrats on the super weight loss accomplishment!

Tripp, enjoy your trip!

I am looking forward to the DISbate Sunday. Also looking forward to watching you all continue your exciting discussions and watching this contest as it continues to evolve.

For now, I'm off to cast my vote for Ziggy....

:rotfl: 'Funny the things that probably cause all newcomers to scratch their heads and go, "huh"? :confused3

What a quick study! (You are correct! :thumbsup2 ) The constant references to "Our Sponsor" link back to our former thread. 'Seems that Kenny the Pirate (KTP, for short) refuses to utter Our Sponsors' names again until he manages to eek out a free trip to the "Mothership"! ... Quite clever and "piratey" of him, don't you think?!? pirate:

Oh! And, :welcome: to our thread! :wave2:

Wow, Ann! (What a great, inspirational story!) ... No wonder that radio promotions guy felt so bad and sent you a gift when his station pulled out of the Family Game Day contest! (I remember you mentioned his comment that you had such a great back-story...)

Way to go! :thumbsup2 You should be very proud of yourself!

swwake! Really glad you're here! It's a fun place to be--hope you'll stick around and join the excitement! :goodvibes

You have a great avatar too!

I got my CMO pin!!!!!!! :cool1:

Congrats on the amazing story Ann! I am setting my sites on the WDW 1/2 marathon...what do you think??? Who wants to join me in '09? Who would like to train an absolute couch potato???

Anne

Forecast is up to 6-10 inches now. Hey SSE would be a pretty easy one!

You're scaring me...I can't remember where you are, but my very pregnant friend in Edmund doesn't need that much snow. With her luck, she'll give birth in a snowbank.

However, I am interested to see what you can do for a castle model--that will be cool!

I am not a runner by a long shot, but my DH is. He ran the Goofy this year. If you need any tips, let me know. Also, coolrunning.com has a great couch-to-5k program that could help you get started.

Your friend is probably ok Calliaz, Kenny is about an hour and a half or so south of Edmond (I think), and here, one town usually gets the snow and the one closest by gets nothing! I'm 30 min from Edmond. It's cold and the sky is solid white, but nothing yet. :goodvibes
