Oh, I totally forgot to tell you all this one.

Last Friday we were in the elevator at the new American Indian Museum in Washington, DC. This building is just beautiful and the place itself is wonderful. It's actually my new favorite museum. I want to go there sometime w/o my DD so I can read all about the culture, etc.

Anyway, they have these H-U-G-E elevators (holds 8000 pounds) and we happened to get one all to ourselves (6 of us). So as the doors close, I shout out "Party in the Car!" and start doing my interpretation of the Funky Salmon.

Now after my nephews (age 10 and 8, so you know what they were thinking -- crazy Aunt Marshay!) get over their shock, they start joining in and we all start dancing like fools in the elevator. And then the doors open and I guess we must have been making some noise cuz the folks who were about to get on, said they'd catch the next one.

After the doors close again, we did the "party in the car" again and let me tell you, it felt really good. We were all laughing and smiling on the way out ... yes, even my 10 yo nephew and somewhat dodgy brother-in-law!

See Marshay...That's what I'm talking about! :cool1:

Excellent!! :thumbsup2 (Now, I wonder if there was a hidden video surveillance camera nearby? The security personnel probably got a good chuckle, then went home to tell their family and friends! :teeth: )

Oh and if there was a camera, then it has to spread! Just imagine...all across the country people everywhere singing and dancing in elevators...friends, family, even complete strangers join in, turning the ordinary into fun. "Party In The Car" tops all music charts and elevator rides exceed all records becoming the new craze. Isn't that how a lot of magic begins? Risking appearances to make people smile and laugh???

:dancer:

Lovely! You look absolutely maaaaarvelous, Mrs. Fleagle! :thumbsup2

I agree and I love the new blue! Looks great! :thumbsup2

SCREEEEEEECH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *The DisneyFam car brakes are very loud*

I step out for a few seconds (ok - days)....come back to find my alliance not fully in place at all!!!

I fully believed in the running mates ticket for CMO!

*really hoping I get this post in before all of the notarized documents are completed*

*open to share the CMO spot....even virtually*

 Ann's back!!! :yay:

Missed you! Hope you had a great few days!

Oh, you are so totally right!!

Guess we helped spread the magic some more!! :rotfl:

Too funny! I esp like the "tops all music charts!"

And Yes, I love the new blue background, too!!!

This is awesome! If anyone happened to read my PTR (or part of it), I have "things to do in an elevator". I have dared my daughter Katie and her friend Caitlin to try all of them on our WDW trip (that is, if we have a 2nd floor or higher room...). Now I'm adding "Party in the Car". I'll tell her and she'll love it.

This is sounding more and more like a great SNL skit! Doors open...people are dancing...nobody gets on...doors close...

Thanks! :goodvibes

That's okay! I just threw an imaginary "faint" right here in my parents' family room. :faint:

Philosophical Question of the Day: If a person fakes a faint, and there's nobody around to see/hear it...

Sidebar to PQotD: I'll be at Disney by myself. If I'm ever alone in a monorail car, and I do the funky salmon, is that a Party in the Car...or the scariest thing you can imagine?

Take a moment - hard to get that vision out of your head, isn't it? :tiptoe:

BTW, Cat: I'm not laughing at you -- just at your wickedly funny sense of humor. You know I'd join your "Party in the Car" if I could! :thumbsup2

:rotfl: That's EXACTLY what I was envisioning!!!

Hey tothesea! What's up?
I love your new signature! Did you do that yourself?

Thanks Cat--trying it out! I found it online, with quite a few other disney ones. Must be fun out driving in your convertible! :drive:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Absolutely! I say go for it and set your camera to record so we can watch and dance along! You know you're going to have to keep us posted on your trip! Are you packing yet???

EDITED to clarify: I meant, "yes, absolutely have your party"--NOT, "yes, absolutely hard to get that out of my head!" ;)

Oh I know you're not laughing at me - I'm doing that! :)

That Mr. DISgeeks better explain to me why you can't come to my party!!!!!

It is! I bought is 11 years ago when I was going thru my FIRST mid-life crisis. I got him in February, and though it was only in the 40's and dry here, that first week I was driving around with the top down, and the heater going! Man, talk about environmentally unfriendly, but so much fun!

Oh yeah, during my MOST RECENT and ongoing mid-life crisis, I bought an iphone. I will be posting updates on my trip - but NO video. Maybe a picture, tho! Not sure how I'll take it if I'm alone in the car doing the funky salmon. I guess I'll snap one of my fancy footwork!

And of course everyone knows you were talking about approval of my party!

Not packing yet - I've done this enough that I have all my travel stuff in my bag all the time. Just need to pack the tee's and capri's and I'll be ready! Wish you could come!
