Could it be true , we have a trip planned Nov. 8-17th and I wanted to check and see if possibly FTP would be available, the cm said no way, it will not be available and there won't be another deal like it. He said they had an uncommon decline in visitors for the summer, but they expect Nov/Dec to be back up to normal numbers and will not offer FTP , or anything close to it.. What has anyone else heard, I am really hoping he is wrong!! We sure would love to be able to enjoy such a wonderful deal!!!

Unless it was Michael Eisner you talked to i wouldn't get to upset. If you asked 10 different CM's the same question you'd probably get 10 different answers. Even if they don't extend FTP there will probably be some codes made available. I'm counting on something as we are planning a Dec. visit.:p :p

I haven't heard officially, but I doubt it would be continued. If you think about it, there are so many dates in Nov/Dec that they would probably want to black out, it just wouldn't mane sense. They'd probably want to black out the weeks before and after Thanksgiving and before, during and after Christmas/New Year. That would leave, like two weeks for packages. I would think they'd black out so much to keep people from getting the holidays "free." For example, if people booked to arrive 4 days before Christmas, those would be the days they'd pay for and Christmas itself would be "free." Knowing Disney, I'm sure they'd want maximum return for the holiday dates, not be "giving" them away in the FTP.

I have no problem with this. I would love to find a room only code, but when I booked Pop Century, I was prepared to pay full rack rates in the event that they don't offer any deals. I am ok with it only because we will be there to be first night guests as well as being able to stay the entire week. I doubt that I will ever have the opportunity to be an opening night guest again at WDW. Anyway, I won't cry about FTP not being an option. I am going to buy my 7 day PHP pass from Paramount Travel and have my free character breakfast. This will leave me with at least 2 unused park days for future use and works out great for our plans to wait until late next year or even waiting until 2005 for our next WDW trip. Mickey

A CM told me the exact same thing a few weeks ago! Not to worry though, Annual Pass discounts & general room only codes should be available, so at least everyone will see some kind of a discount even if it's not the FTP.

The current FTP has to be booked by June 29, so we should know sometime after that if the FTP will be extended....

It could go either way, Disney has the final word and we just have to wait and see what it is! Doesn't really effect me anymore, I've decided to purchase APs.

We are waiting also. We have decided to do 7 nights at Disney if the FTP is offered or split our stay between Hard Rock and Swan if it is not. Either way we'll have a great time. I hope we know something soon, I want to start planning!:)

When I made reservations several weeks ago I was also told the same thing, no extension of the Fairy Tale package into November and December. I'm actually hoping for good room only discounts for that time. Crossing my fingers! We are going the first week in November.

I was also told no extension, that summer attendance was down far more than nov/dec typical numbers. CM I spoke with said he has noticed a general 'MOOD-LIFT" around Disney as of late, and that he hope another similar pkg. is offered for next summer. The target is to attract those who never thought they could go, or who could only afford a few days and thought it was pretty costly for a "long week-end" type trip. And as we all know, he said the hotels are NOT where WDW makes their profit, it is the parks, food, souvee's, and they have placed the ultimate carrot B4 the horse! Works for me! I am sorry it does not work out for your dates, hopefully the financial analysts will see that quite a few of their historic Nov/Dec guests have used AP rates and codes, and will continue to offer that as well to keep them as re-peat cust. Or I was hoping for a "room only" type deal of similar nature, pay rack for 4 nights, stay for 7. The waterpark issue doesn't apply during the cold months and since they usually re-furbish one anyway....
