Club Level do's and don'ts

It would be very easy for the CMs to ask to see your CL card when exiting the elevator. (yes you could get around this but it would prevent a large group from showing up)
The problem is not all Club Level floors are accessed by elevator. At the Boardwalk Inn their Club Level rooms are located on the 4th floor past the door that says Innkeeper's Club, which requires you to insert your KTTW card for it to open. Now sometimes the Cast Members will open the door if they remember who you are. However the are also regular rooms on the 4th floor located before you get to that specifc door. Plus they have some of their Deluxe Club Level Rooms located on the 3rd floor, so for those guests it's faster to walk up the stairs to the 4th floor that leads right to the Club Level section. Now there is a sign before entering the 4th floor from there that says access for Innkeeper's Club guests only, however it's not open by a KTTW card incase there happens to be a fire. Finally those guests staying in the Garden Suites come from the outside into the main building of the Boardwalk when going to the lounge.

So who wants to invite me up to CL next time I go? :rotfl:

No worries actually. I doubt I could put it into my tight schedule.

Wow has this thread ever taken a totally predictable turn. :rotfl2:

While I can't stand the new fad of girls walking around in pj pants all day (thanks VS for starting this horrid trend), I can't see it being that bad if I run to the lounge for a cup of coffee in my pj pants and t-shirt. :lmao:

Totally with you on that one. I've been known to go in PJ's to grab my coffee myself. But I really don't think it's very nice to hang out in a robe with nothing underneath, or in a nightie. Now that's just wrong. Now I don't usually notice what people are wearing, but in these two cases....

Now back to your regularly scheduled bickering... popcorn::

just to specify. I didn't say that I thought it was Ok for people to sit in a CL lounge in their nightwear.

I was responding to the phrase "in a SHARED public place".

once they did away with smoking rooms, many smokers have been known to duck out to the DSA in Pjs, for that "middle of the night" smoke. or that "I just woke up, need a smoke before I try to sleep a bit more" smoke.

but, no fear, the only other people there are smokers, and they understand!

Like I said, the only time I'd do it is if I'm running in for a cup of coffee to tide me over while I get ready (I'm really cranky in the morning w/o coffee). I doubt myself or anyone else in my family is going to sit and eat in PJ's. And I agree on the see-thru tanks and short shorts, not cool.

Agreed. I can't drink that stuff in my room masquerading as coffee and I will make the pilgrimage to get my coffee, probably in my pjs. Granted, my pjs probably don't even look like pjs to most b/c it's just sweats and a t-shirt. And I will be taking my coffee and heading back to my room so I wouldn't be offending anyone for too long ;):goodvibes

Is that really a rule?
Maybe not a set in stone rule but it should be common sense not to roll out of bed and then go to the lounge and touch all the food. Plus, it's eye pollution- I don't want to see some chick's muffin top over the top of her pj pants, or her droopy ****ies because she couldn't be bothered to put on a bra, or some guy's buttcrack. And yes, I've seen all of the above in CL.Get dressed!!

JackSkellingtonGirl- I saw your ticker, and it looks like we will be at AKL CL on the same dates as you... first week in June. We'll be the ones in pajamas stealing wine and entire trays of food:rotfl: Just kidding. But, Maybe we'll see you there! I Can't wait

This is my take on the subject..if you are not staying CL then you are not entitled to anything having to do with CL benefits, regardless if part of your family is staying CL. I dont care if it is taking food to using the view..it just isnt fair.

Our experience Nov 2009 at the Poly CL was great until the Thanksgiving guests moved in. There were alot of large groups and we noticed that some guests staying CL were letting in their non CL family into the lounge, eating all the food, hogging all the tables, making lots of noise, kids running amok, taking all the beverages and full bottles of wine.

We were sooo ticked off, we paid for this feature and these non CL guests didnt. I complained to the CL CMs in the lobby and they said if they catch them letting in non CL people they will make sure they are not allowed in but they were so busy all the time there is no way they would have noticed.

I have to say, I think we're seeing a bit of a generation gap here. The 'it's OK to wear PJs in public' thing is a pretty recent development. It wasn't that long ago that people would point and laugh if you went out in public in pajamas. I mean that literally.....I remember someone coming into the cafeteria in college in their pajamas, and people stopped dead in their tracks, pointed and laughed.

Nowadays, you see them at the gym, in the grocery store, at Starbucks, you name it. But not that long ago....it just was not done.

And I know I'm really dating myself by saying this, but I remember when people dressed up to travel...men in suits, women in dresses on airplanes. Yes, I know, I'm ancient. :rotfl:

I have stayed in club level rooms in resorts all over America. When I have had guests, I have generally invited them to the lounge. I always ask at check-in if this is allowed. I have always, everywhere that I have traveled, been told that it is allowed. Not once have I been told no, or even had it suggested that it was discouraged.

The resort gets to decide these things. And the resorts are overwhelmingly in favor of allowing guests entrance to club lounges if the paying customer remains with them.

I have never stayed in a club level room at WDW, nor am I likely to in the future (doesn't align with my WDW touring habits). Since I have not, I have no idea what WDW policies are, but those who have asked seem to have discovered that it is allowed.

To the OP - stay there if you are so inclined, and ask at check-in if guests are allowed. :goodvibes

Do not allow your friends and family members staying in studios to cook in your kitchen, store frozen goodies in your freezer or do their laundry in your machines! These are amenities that are meant for villa guests and if your friends wanted use of them, they should have ponied up the money for their own villas!

OK, maybe not quite the same, but still! :lmao:

oh, and remember whenpeople would get all dressed up to visit someone in the hospital? which was really stupid, the sick person feels like they look bad enough already!

(smidgy, here, not nebo.. sorry again honey)

I do not believe the biggest problem is CL guests bringing in one or two extra, it is the people hanging out by the elevator waiting for someone to go up, so they can snag a ride to free stuff. We watched several people do this at the AKL this past June. One guy was stuffing beers in his pockets, and carrying as many as he could. His next trip he arrived with help, intending to carry more out. One of the CM's that was quite friendly, told us it happens all the time, and they really aren't supposed to question anyone, since Disney does not like to make guests uncomfortable. He did ask this guy to see his card, and or course he did not have one. If you are staying CL, I believe you can have as much as you want, you paid for it. If not, it is pretty much stealing.

:scared1: that's not just "pretty much stealing" it IS stealing. I don't see how that is any different than
strolling" into Bomas, and putting falafels and zebra domes in your pockets.

No, it would be like you offering your relatives access to the guests next door to you to use their refrigerator and stove. There have been reports of guests staying in studios somehow getting the door between the studio and connecting one bedroom and using the kitchen in the one bedroom before being thrown out by the guest in the one bedroom.

I have not read this whole thread but we were at AKL CL in Dec (we go every dec) and we have family in orlando, the cl people told us we could have them come with us to the lounge and hang out with some drinks any time we liked....all the cl CMs were very nice, even the mang who helped us with a few issues sat down and chatted with my guest for a while. They were not with us all the time but I think the cms were very nice about it...it was even THEIR idea for them to hang with us in the lounge instead of all of us sitting in the small room..
I choose to follow the rules the resort sets for us and really not what others tell me.We of course did not abuse it and it was not crowded during the time we were there.

:thumbsup2 Totally remember that too!

Pajamas in the CL is just plain wrong.

Well these people weren't trying to sneak up at the Contemporary Club Level to take any drinks, however this Cast Member didn't know who they were and when they asked if they could watch Wishes they were told no and had to leave right away. So I can't believe that the Animal Kingdom Lodge Club Level Cast Members wouldn't say anything when people not staying Club Level are stealing drinks, but at another lounge a Cast Member prevented non Club Level guests from watching the fireworks.
