Club Level do's and don'ts

Sorry but I think this is wrong. CL is reserved for those guests who pay for it - not their family and friends. This kind of thinking may be why there are reports of evening appetizers running out and not being replaced. They plan for a certain amount of people and if each person is bringing a guest - well there you go.

BTW pool hopping from resort to resort is not allowed either. That is why each pool has a sign posted that the pool is for resort guests only (unless you are DVC).

Sorry wrong topic.

Agreed.

We book club level (and pay accordingly). There is no way people should be allowed to bring in guests from other resorts, offsite, whatever. I don't care if the CMs said it was OK. They are trained to be as non-confrontational as possible.

We have a lot of friends staying at AKL during our next trip. I wouldn't ask if they could all have lounge access. And I would expect other club level guests to be appalled if I did! If you would like to have access to club level, book it and pay for it.

So was it wrong when I brought my two friends up to the Atrium Club lounge at the Contemporary to watch the fireworks but they didn't eat or drink anything.

Plus the time when I brought my other two friends to the Innkeeper's lounge of the Boardwalk Inn to see my family when a Cast Member who clearly saw them got them chairs to sit down, but they also didn't eat or drink anything.

I go by what the Disney CMs say and not the Disboards - so when I have a question I ask at the hotel - I too have been a guest of another Club Level guest and have had guests over - its what gets people hooked into booking that on their own.

As far as needing an extra key so a babysitter (Grandma) can take a child to nap - just ask at the front desk that morning or the day before - it should be fine. But don't ask me - ask a CM.

Is that really a rule?
In previous welcome letters we got from the Club Level lounges after checking in they say that approprite clothes must be worn in the lounge along with shoes, so that would mean no bathing suits. However nothing about pajamas was ever mentioned in them.

I think the biggest problem people have is people bringing guests who ARE eating and drinking. There's a whole thread of people complaining that food isn't being replenished and I think one of the problems might be that the cl cms plan on a certain number of PAYING guests - and that's why they run short.

In my opinion, people who are not registered guests on club level do not belong in the lounge. Everyone has the option of booking and paying for club level. The amenities should not be accessible to guests' friends, family, co-workers, random acquaintances, etc.

I saw that thread but I don't think not bringing out more food has to do with guests bring others not staying Club Level into the lounge and eating. Sometimes the lounges really run out of food, although in my experience when they do they replace that item with something else. So if some guests left the lounge before a brand new item was brought out that's their fault. Plus each time during my Club Level stays at the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Boardwalk Inn the standard food items got replaced up until it was time to take everything away.

I agree 100% with you on that.

Going along with the reasoning that it's okay to bring guests up to the lounge and to enjoy all the lounge amenities - we are staying BC CL 15 days, my in-laws are joining us the first week. Instead of booking them into another BC CL room should I have just booked them a regular room and brought up up to the lounge with me to enjoy all the lounge offerings?

I would NEVER do that - and I can't believe that anyone who is paying CL prices would think that it would be okay to do that. Why bother paying CL prices if you can come along as someone's "guest".

I didn't see the thread about CL offerings running out but I have stayed CL several times @ Poly, AKL, WL, and GF and never have they run out of food. Things got low or they ran out of a certain item but it was always replaced with something else within a few minutes.

Hmmmmm...my pj's cover me up better than most ladies wear with short-shorts and tight tank tops, and look really cute with my eyeore slippers ;).

I can understand about wet swimsuits, but if they had robes on or coverups over them and they were dry, than why not?

I like a good discussion hence I started this thread, hooray me! Here are my thoughts...

If paid for CL I should be able to wear my pjs to breakfast..lol kidding of course!

I will admit that I don't buy into the agrument, that because I can afford CL that I shouldn't be able share with my wife's immediate family members. It is not like I am just going to throw the food from the balcony yelling "free food!" Also, if I had a lot of family, I wouldn't invite all of them up to the floor. We are thinking about a large family trip in a few years that would include close to 30 people, they wouldn't be invited, but a 25, 23, and 5 year old aren't going to eat the floor out of house and home, especially as picky eaters who would more enjoy a beer or soda over the snacks. I also don't plan on having them up there nighty, cause sometimes you need a break from family, but I doubt one (maybe two nights) will ruin the CL for everyone else. Afterall the average crowd that week is a 1.7 It will be ghost town!

I think the best thing said is to ask the staff. While they are trained to talk with people they are not trained to let people do whatever the heck they want; could you imagine what WDW would be like if they let you do whatever you want? (sounds like I have a new thread to create lol) I have asked for permission to do things before and CMs have politely told me no and I am fine with that.

I'm going to start doing this. We book multiple rooms (we take our adult children every other year). I'll just book ours on Club Level then I'm going to invite them up for breakfast every day. No need to pay Club rates for all of those rooms.

If you ask the CM's and they say "ok" I don't see a problem with it. Why wouldn't it be ok if the CM's who work there say it's ok? :goodvibes

They know who's there, who's not, how many people are staying CL, and whether or not they have the room in the lounge or enough food in the lounge. :)

Is that really a rule?

It is polite. :)

And no, I don't think it's bad for little kids to show up in PJ's, or adults in PJ's and robes. But nightgowns with no robes, or robes with no PJ's.... Now that's just "off putting" IMO. And yes, that really happened at RPC.

Is that really a rule?

I wondered that myself but I would find it kind of funny if Disney put that in their rules. Kids in pajamas tho? Really, that bothers people? I don't care what people wear, as long as they aren't naked.

I also don't know anyone who would go into a club level lounge without paying for that perk. I wouldn't do it either.

While I can't stand the new fad of girls walking around in pj pants all day (thanks VS for starting this horrid trend), I can't see it being that bad if I run to the lounge for a cup of coffee in my pj pants and t-shirt. I've walked to the food courts in the other resorts to fill my mug in the morning in my pj pants, but I doubt I would sit in the lounge for a meal if I wasn't fully dressed. I'm only using points for club level for one night anyway so I can do the sunrise safari. I'll be there on 6/25, anyone who wants a free drink can PM me and I'll let you in. ;)

:lmao:

I love how there are so many justifications for people doing precisely what they want to do.

Guests are fine if they don't eat anything, guests are fine if there are only a few of them, guests are fine if it isn't every night, guests are fine if a CM (who makes $8 an hour and doesn't give a rat's hat WHO is in there) says it is OK, guests are fine if they can't afford their own CL room...:headache:

I can only give my opinion. I do not feel like it is my job to "police" the club lounge. Disney is paying people to do that job. As long as my family and I get what we need and my children are dressed and behave the way my husband and I believe is appropriate that is all I care about when in the lounge. Honestly, as long as the cm's say it's okay.....who is to say that it is actually against some rule?? I'm sure the same cm that lets you bring a guest in to the lounge for cold cereal, teeny tiny danishes, fruit, bagels......is NOT going to allow you to bring the same guests in to the parks for free. So since there are times that a cm will NOT allow you to bring a guest I would assume the times they do allow it is b/c they have been told that it is okay. So to the op. Just ask the cm's on your first day if it would be okay and if they say yes.....then there you go. There is not going to be one guest in the lounge that knows who and who does not belong there anyway. Unless of course you walk in yelling.....EXCUSE ME EVERYONE..THESE ARE MY GUESTS AND THEY DID NOT PAY $400+ DOLLARS EXTRA A NIGHT TO GET SOME OF THESE CLUB LEVEL FROSTED FLAKES AND UNCRUSTABLES!
Book CL, enjoy your trip and let that little child enjoy some of the danishes that will even be small for her tiny hand! LOL
